On Thursday night, Petco Park will be the site of a game between two members of the National League West. The San Diego Padres will welcome the Arizona Diamondbacks to town for a game. The pitching matchup will see left-hander Vidal Nuno (0-4) face off against right-hander Ian Kennedy (10-11).

Nuno, the former New York Yankee, has been terrible this season during his time in the Bronx and Phoenix. Overall this season, he is just 2-9 with a 4.46 ERA and has recorded 109 strikeouts in 139.1 innings. Since joining the Diamondbacks, he has made 10 starts and while his ERA is more than 2.00 lower in the NL, has yet to record a win. This has been an off season for the Diamondbacks, but they may be encouraged for the future performance of Nuno in their uniform. In his career against current members of the Padres, Nuno has allowed just 2 hits in 19 at-bats, with Cameron Maybin getting 2 singles.

Kennedy, the 29-year-old veteran also began his career with the Yankees and is the first full season of his San Diego career. He was acquired from the Diamondbacks a year ago and will look to get the win against his former team. In his career against current members of the Arizona roster, he has allowed 33 hits in 101 at-bats with home runs allowed to Miguel Montero and Cody Ross. Overall, Montero has the most success against him with 5 hits in 10 trips.
