On Wednesday night, Josh Collmenter (9-7) will get the start for the Arizona Diamondbacks when they take on Andrew Cashner (2-6) and the San Diego Padres.

Right-hander Josh Collmenter had a good start against the Colorado Rockies last Friday and ended up with a no decision for his efforts. He pitched 6.1 innings in that game and gave up one run on two base hits while striking out five hitters and walking no one. Collmenter has walked just 2.1 batters per nine innings this year and he has a 3.94 ERA.

Padres outfielder Seth Smith is 5-for-17 against Collmenter in his career with a double, a triple and a home run. Jedd Gyorko is 0-for-8 against him with no walks and a strikeout.

Last week, Andrew Cashner deserved to get a win in his outing against the Los Angeles Dodgers, but he had to settle for a no decision. He gave up just one run in six innings of work that day while walking no one and striking out eight. Cashner has an excellent 2.37 ERA on the season and he has only given up three home runs in 87.1 innings.

Diamondbacks catcher Miguel Montero has four hits in his 16 at-bats against Cashner with a solo home run and five strikeouts. Second baseman Aaron Hill is 1-for-6 against him with two RBI and one strikeout.
