Left-hander Wade Miley (7-10), who hasn't won a game since July 30, will get the start for the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday night when they take on Odrisamer Despaigne (3-5) and the San Diego Padres.

Wade Miley finished the month of August 0-3 after being beaten by the Los Angeles Dodgers last Wednesday. He went six innings in that start and allowed three runs on seven base hits while striking out six batters and walking four. Miley currently has a 4.30 ERA, but he has been able to strike out 163 batters in 176 innings on the mound this year.

Yasmani Grandal is the only player on the Padres who has hit a home run off of Miley, but he is just 2-for-10 overall against him. Chris Nelson is 4-for-10 against the lefty with an RBI and a strikeout.

Rookie Odrisamer Despaigne had a good outing against the Milwaukee Brewers last week, but he ended up having to settle for a no decision. In that game, he gave up two runs (one earned) in seven innings on the mound while striking out a season-high nine batters and walking one. Despaigne has only given five home runs in 72.1 innings this season and now has a 3.24 ERA.

Diamondbacks catcher Miguel Montero has two hits in five at-bats against Despaigne with a home run and three RBI. Ender Inciarte is just 1-for-6 against him in his career with no walks.
