Right-hander Trevor Cahill (3-9) will be on the mound for the Arizona Diamondbacks when they take on Tyson Ross (12-12) and the San Diego Padres on Monday afternoon.

Last week, Trevor Cahill gave up eight runs (six earned) in 3.1 innings against the Los Angeles Dodgers and ended up taking the loss. He allowed six hits in that outing while walking three batters and striking out three. On the season, Cahill now has a 4.98 ERA, but he has only given up a total of six home runs in 86.2 innings of work.

Padres outfielder Alexi Amarista has six hits in 13 at-bats against Cahill in his career with a double, home run and three RBI. Yasmani Grandal is 1-for-6 against him with two walks and an RBI.

Tyson Ross made it a dozen wins on the season last Tuesday when he was able to beat the Milwaukee Brewers at home. He pitched 6.1 innings in that start and allowed one run on four base hits while striking out six batters and walking two. Ross currently has a solid 2.64 ERA on the year and he has only given up 147 hits in 181 innings.

Diamondbacks infielder Didi Gregorius has two hits in six at-bats versus Ross with three walks and a double. Catcher Miguel Montero is just 2-for-15 against him in his career with no walks and three strikeouts.
