In a game that will feature two rookie starters, right-hander Mike Bolsinger and the Arizona Diamondbacks will be going up against Odrisamer Despaigne and the San Diego Padres on Sunday afternoon.

Mike Bolsinger had possibly his best start of the year against the San Francisco Giants last Sunday, but he still ended up taking the loss after getting just one run from his offense. He pitched 7.2 innings in that game and allowed just one run on five hits while striking out four and walking one. Through seven starts, Bolsinger is now 1-3 with a 4.78 ERA and he has struck out 32 batters in 37.2 innings.

The Padres will be going up against Bolsinger for the first time on Sunday afternoon. So far, left-handed batters have hit .338 against him in 65 at-bats.

Right-hander Odrisamer Despaigne made his Major League debut last Monday and was able to pick up the win against the San Francisco Giants. He pitched seven scoreless innings in that outing and gave up just four hits while walking no one and striking out one. Despaigne was able to throw 59 of his 86 pitches for strikes out in that game an d he also induced 12 ground balls.

The Diamondbacks should expect to see a 91-93 mph fastball from Despaigne, and he will also mix in a 70 mph curveball and a 73 mph changeup.
