Arizona Diamondbacks starter Chase Anderson will try to end his current losing streak on Wednesday night when he faces big right-hander Charlie Morton and the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Right-hander Chase Anderson lost his third game in a row last week against the Cleveland Indians after giving up four earned runs in five innings of work. He allowed seven hits in that game and walked three while striking out four. Through eight starts, Anderson is 5-3 with a 3.63 ERA and he has already given up eight home runs on 44.2 innings. He has held left-handed hitters to a .182 batting average so far, but right-handed hitters are hitting .304 against him.

Anderson will be facing all of the Pirates for the first time on Wednesday night.

Charlie Morton lost his second consecutive game and his ninth overall last week against the Tampa Bay Rays. He pitched seven innings in that outing and allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits while walking one and striking out a season-high 11 batters. Morton is now 4-9 this season with an above-average ERA of 3.41 and he has only given up six home runs in 100.1 innings of work.

Diamondbacks veteran Gerardo Parra has two hits in his six at-bats against Morton with a home run and two RBI. Catcher Miguel Montero is just 2-for-9 against him in his career with six strikeouts.
