The MLB schedule makers must really like that early season Diamondbacks/Dodgers matchup because Sunday marks the 8th time the teams will meet in the first 19 games of the year. The Dodgers had won the first 5 before a 4-2 Arizona win Friday night snapped the streak. The Diamondbacks send Josh Collmenter (0-1) to the mound against Josh Beckett (0-0). Collmenter makes his second start of the season after coming out of the bullpen. The right-hander got a loss the last time out after giving up 3 runs in 4 innings but reaching his pitch limit of 75 in a return to the rotation.

Collmenter had 6 relief appearances against the Dodgers in 2013, scoring a 1-3 record after allowing 5 runs in 11 innings which included 4 HR. Catcher A.J. Ellis, who has two of those long balls, is on the DL but the Dodger roster as a whole is hitting .365 (19 of 52) against Collmenter.

Beckett made just 9 starts last year while recovering from a nerve injury in his hand but 2 were against Arizona. He pitched well allowing 1 run in a complete game loss and a 6 inning, 3-run no-decision. Arizona 2B Aaron Hill looks to improve on his .218 season average when facing Beckett, who he's batted 15 for 38 (.395) against with 7 doubles.
