On Friday, rookie Vidal Nuno (0-4) will attempt to win his first start since early July when the Arizona Diamondbacks go up against Dan Haren (11-10) and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Last Saturday, Vidal Nuno was beaten by the Colorado Rockies despite pitching eight strong innings against them. He gave up just one earned run on two base hits in that outing while striking out seven batters and walking no one. Nuno now has a 4.46 ERA on the year and he has given up just 131 hits in 139.1 innings of work.

Most of the Dodgers will be going up against Nuno for the first time on Friday night. So far this season, right-handed batters are hitting .261 against him, while left-handed batters have just a .202 batting average against him.

Veteran right-hander Dan Haren had a pretty good start against the San Diego Padres on the road last weekend and finished with a no decision. He went six innings in that start and allowed just two unearned runs on five hits while walking one batter and striking out three. He has only walked 33 batters in 156 innings this season and now has a 4.27 ERA.

Diamondbacks second baseman Aaron Hill has 10 hits in his 31 at-bats against Haren with two doubles, two triples, a home run and six RBI. Catcher Miguel Montero is just 3-for-14 against him with an RBI and four strikeouts.
