On Thursday night, Bronson Arroyo will be hoping to pick up his first win since early May when he and the Arizona Diamondbacks take on Juan Nicasio and the Rockies.

Bronson Arroyo was able to go seven innings against the Cincinnati Reds last week, but he allowed five runs in that game and picked up his fourth loss of the season. He gave up nine hits in that outing and struck out three batters while walking one. Arroyo has a 4-4 record through his first 11 starts and has only walked 14 batters in 67.2 innings.

Star outfielder Carlos Gonzalez has done really well against Arroyo in their matchups, going 9-for-17 with two doubles and two walks. Troy Tulowitzki has six hits in 13 at-bats against the veteran right-hander with two home runs and five RBI.

Juan Nicasio could only go 4.2 innings against the Cleveland Indians last Friday and ended up taking his third loss of the year. He allowed five earned runs in that game on nine hits while walking no one and striking out two. Nicasio is striking out fewer hitters this season, but he is also allowing fewer hits and walks.

Diamondbacks catcher Miguel Montero is just 2-for-10 in his career against Nicasio, but he does have a home run and two RBI. Didi Gregorius is 2-for-3 against him with a solo home run.
