Tuesday night, the Arizona Diamondbacks will send Josh Collmenter (8 – 6, 4.09 ERA) to the hill to take on the Cleveland Indians and T.J. House (1 – 3, 4.13 ERA).   Collmenter makes his 21st start and 26th appearance as House makes his 12th start and 13th appearance.

Josh Collmenter took the loss in his last outing after allowing 3 runs on 3 hits (including a home run) in 6 innings of work.    He walked 2 and struck out 6.  It was the type of start that Collmenter has had in recent weeks. He has given up 3 or more runs in his last 3 starts and Collmenter is just 0 – 1 in those outings.  Last season, Collmenter went 5 – 5 with a 3.13 ERA in 49 relief appearances. 

In 2013, Collmenter didn’t face the Indians but he has an appearance against them this season. In an inning of work, Collmenter picked up a victory after allowing just a hit.

T.J. House was defeated in his last start after giving up 4 runs and 8 hits in 6 innings. He issued just 1 walk while striking out 5.  House’s lone victory came over a month ago and in his last 5 starts, House has allowed 3 or more runs 4 times.  As the season wraps up, House will look to lower his ERA as he gets more experience against Major League hitters.

House has never faced the Diamondbacks and will need to draw on the information contained in the scouting report to formulate a plan of attack against Arizona.
