On Friday night, Josh Collmenter will try to win his eighth game of the year when he and the Arizona Diamondbacks go up against Ervin Santana and the Atlanta Braves.

Josh Collmenter picked up his third win in a row on Saturday against the San Diego Padres after giving up just one earned run in 5.1 innings of work. He allowed five hits in that outing and struck out four batters while walking two. Collmenter has a 7-4 record on the season and he has been able to lower his walk rate to just 2.6 walks per nine innings.

Collmenter is not a fan of facing Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman, who is 7-for-12 against him with two doubles, a home run and two RBI. Jason Heyward, on the other hand, is just 1-for-11 against Collmenter with two strikeouts.

Right-hander Ervin Santana won his sixth game of the year last Saturday by defeating the Philadelphia Phillies on the road. He pitched 6.2 innings in that start and allowed just two runs on seven hits while striking out five and walking just one. Santana has struck out 86 batters in 95.2 innings this year and he has only given up eight home runs.

Diamondbacks second baseman Aaron Hill has faced Santana more than any of his teammates, but he is just 6-for-31 against him with a home run and three strikeouts.
