On Tuesday, the American League and National League All-Stars will square off in the 85th edition of the All-Star game. This is one of the more intriguing versions of the exhibition because it is a pretty even mix of veterans and youngsters on both rosters.
Most of the talk pertaining to the American League All-Stars has had to do with this being Derek Jeter's final time playing in the game, but there are plenty of other players to watch out for on their roster. The key pitchers for the AL All-Stars are Yu Darvish, Max Scherzer and Felix Hernandez, while the offense will be lead by MVP favorite Mike Trout and slugger Nelson Cruz. MLB home run leader Jose Abreu will come off of the bench for the American League.
Superstar outfielder Yasiel Puig will be making his first All-Star game appearance and may find himself in the middle of the National League's lineup. The NL team has plenty of other power hitters on their roster, including Troy Tulowitzki, Giancarlo Stanton and Paul Goldschmidt. Johnny Cueto, Clayton Kershaw and Zack Greinke should get the most time on the mound for the NL.
The National League has been able to beat the American League three out of the last four years and has a 43-39-2 overall record against them, but the AL All-Stars won last year and have won 18 of the last 25 games.
Josh's Pick: Take the American League
