2024 LPGA Picks: ShopRite LPGA Classic Odds and Expert Betting Predictions
It is a Friday start on the LPGA Tour this week, as players will head to Seaview’s Bay Course in New Jersey for the ShopRite LPGA Classic. Japanese superstar Yuka Saso is back in action after winning her second US Women’s Open last weekend. She turned a three-shot deficit into a three-shot win after the trio of co-leaders shot a combined 20-over par on Sunday. Saso’s victory makes her the youngest player in the history of the LPGA Tour with two US Open titles. Atthaya Thitikul is the favorite to take home the ShopRite title this week, with Hannah Green, Ayaka Furue, and Jin Young Ko breathing down her neck. Doc’s Sports will break down some of the best bets for this upcoming weekend below.

Course Characteristics of Those Who Can Win or Secure Winning Golf Bets
The ShopRite LPGA Classic debuted on tour in 1986 and has taken place at Seaview’s Bay Course since 1998. Besides the 1990 and 2020 editions, every year has been a 54-hole event. Seaview’s Bay Course was designed by Donald Ross and Hugh Wilson in 1914 and renovated by Bob Cupp in 1998. It is one of the shortest layouts on the LPGA Tour with the par 71 course measuring in at 6,197 yards. Built along the wetlands and marshes, it is both tree-lined and open. The fairways are narrow on the front nine and generously open on the back nine. Deep bunkers can be extremely penal and the greens are larger than normal with bentgrass/poa. Wind poses the biggest threat since the course is right near the Atlantic Coast. Even though this track is short, it is no pushover as the average winning score over the last 10 years is 12-under par.
Hannah Green +1100
With Nelly Korda taking the week off, winning the ShopRite LPGA Classic is wide open and I am targeting Hannah Green as my first selection. She heads into this week with three top-10 finishes, including two victories on the 2024 campaign. The 27-year-old stood victorious at the HSBC Women’s World Championship in February and took home the JM Eagle LA Championship title in April. She ranks 5th in the Rolex Rankings and 2nd in the CME Ranking. In her last four events, her worst finish was T18 at the Cognizant Founders Cup. She heads into New Jersey in great form and is a great bet to win this weekend.
Megan Khang +3000
Khang had a fabulous start to the season and despite some poor finishes of late, she is still hitting the ball extremely well. This course suits her well and her approach shots should do all the talking this week in New Jersey. Khang finished 13th or better in four out of her first five starts this season, including a 3rd-place finish at the LPGA Drive On Championship. She also recorded a top-15 finish two starts ago at the Mizuho Americas Open. She ranks 1st on the LPGA Tour in overall Tee-to-Green, 3rd in Approach, and 12th in Greens in Regulation. These categories are the most important at Seaview’s Bay Course. Look for Khang to contend this week.
Ashleigh Buhai +4500
You can’t beat this price tag for the defending champion of the ShopRite Classic. Last year, she won this event as an 18-to-1 longshot and even though she is not in the same form as last year, she has been striking the ball very well of late. She has made the cut in eight out of 10 starts and has recorded four top-25 finishes. She excels with her approach play, ranking 22nd and leads the LPGA in proximity from 50 yards or more. Putting has been her achilles heel in ’24, but her two best putting performances have been in her last two starts. She is comfortable at this course with two top-10 finishes before last year’s victory. You are not going to find more value for a golfer than Buhai this week.
