2024 PGA Picks: RSM Classic Odds and Expert Betting Predictions
After more than two months of meaningful PGA Tour golf, the first-ever FedEx Cup Fall concludes this weekend in the undercover regional capital of the golfing world. There are numerous islands with resorts and some high-level courses off the coasts of South Carolina and Georgia. Many PGA Tour pros have houses here and regularly practice in the region when they aren't competing.
This week, we pay a visit to St. Simons Island, Georgia for the RSM Classic. The tournament will be played on both the Plantation and Seaside Courses of the Sea Island Resort. Sea Island is adjoined to St. Simons. We will cover the characteristics of each course in a moment. First, let's pat Nico Echavarria on the back for coming through with a top-30 finish for us in Bermuda. El Colombiano had little pressure to perform after already winning in the FedEx Cup Fall.
Many of the usual suspects we got accustomed to seeing over the past two months will be in the field this week, but there's a special guest, albeit a young one, who has the entire field beat on talent. I'm talking about the defending RSM Classic Champion, Sweden's Ludvig Aberg. He's been one of the most talked about 20-somethings on Tour in 2024, after his runner-up performance at The Masters, second only to Scottie Scheffler.

Sea Island Resort - Seaside and Plantation Courses: Course Characteristics
We will split time over the two courses on Thursday and Friday, but the final two days of the tournament will be contested on just the Seaside Course.
Seaside Course
Last year, the Seaside Course ranked 53rd out of 58 in terms of difficulty on the PGA Tour. It is pretty straightforward and plays like a links course sitting by the ocean. A lot of the hazards, however, are man-made. The difficulty here is just controlling the ball off the tee and that is more because of the coastal winds that seem to always blow at the worst time.
We do expect windy conditions the first two days, but remember, the third and fourth rounds will be played on this course. Therefore, I wouldn't let the weather factor too heavily into your handicap.
Plantation Course
The Plantation Course is a tree-lined Carolina-style course, so fans get to see golfers attack both styles. Your wins here will be on the par 5's, where the heavy hitters can tee off, wind-allowing, of course. The greens, designed by Davis Love III, are said to be the most difficult part of the entire tournament, outside of potential crazy winds.
RSM Classic Betting Picks
Ludvig Aberg: +900
Winning a tournament on the PGA Tour is quite an accomplishment, but winning it twice is the kind of confidence booster I would want if I were Aberg or one of his coaches heading into 2025. Yes, Aberg has been out of competition for a while, and when he won it last year, he was much more active. Course fit and history and picture-perfect right now, though., if taking a 9-1 winner is your style.
Si Woo Kim: +2800
South Korea's Si Woo Kim is well-established on the PGA Tour and only played the ZOZO Championship in Japan for the FedEx Cup Fall. The 29-year-old from Seoul finished a very respectable 6th behind Justin Thomas and others, in what was the thickest field of skill this Fall.
He didn't have the best showing last year at the RSM. However, he ranks inside the top five of several power rankings and projections. Kim's form is outstanding right now and he clearly wants a much better performance at the RSM Classic. He has been selective with his tournaments recently, and it's paid off. He was one of the best at this year's President's Cup.
Ben Griffin: +3000
Ben Griffin played last week’s event in Bermuda, but that’s not too far off the coast of Georgia. He grabbed 8th place there and has been a presence throughout the FedEx Cup Fall when he’s played, notching 22nd and 24th place finishes.
It’s his performance this past week, though, that I love. One of the best ball strikers in the field is getting another playable Bermudagrass course to show off his short game.

Greyson Sigg Top 30 Finish: +140
Greyson Sigg is a Dawg. I'm not sure if he has the heart to fight but he was born in Augusta and went to school in Athens. I love the local flare we get here with Sigg. He also has an excellent course history, unsurprisingly, of 15th two years ago and 7th in 2023. If my math is correct, he should win this time.
His current form is there as well, with finishes of 4th, 11th, 23rd, and 9th over his last five starts.
