It’s officially Week 9 of the 2024 NFL Regular Season. Consider this, your almost halfway, never too early odds and best bets article for 2024 NFL division winners. I didn’t include all of the divisions today because some are not close at all, and I know you’re busy.

We have betting odds and predictions on five different NFL Divisions but only three best bets.

The first division we will break down is the NFC East. That one is more of a coin flip at the top between the Eagles and Commanders. At the end, we have a Flacco flyer for you.

Sandwiched in between, we have best bets for the NFC and AFC North Divisions, as well as the NFC West.

Betting Odds to Win the NFC East

Philadelphia Eagles: -125

Washington Commanders: +125

Dallas Cowboys: +900

New York Giants: +25000

It's a surprisingly good year to be a Commanders fan. And if you're a Philly guy, things are turning around for you. I still think Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni kinda sucks, though. And from what I've read and heard, you do as well.

Conversely, I'm in love with Washington's coaching staff. Kliff Kingsbury is right where he needs to be in an offensive coordinator role. Head coach Dan Quinn has shifted the culture of the entire team, and the defense has improved as the season has progressed. If you're still questioning his value, look at the mess that is the Dallas Cowboys defense in 2024.

The Eagles have more experience at the offensive skill positions, but rookie quarterbacks only improve with time. They are a lot better in December than they were a few months earlier.

Philadelphia's culture under Sirianni seems to be good when things are going well. However, compared to Quinn, he doesn't have any heart. Lock those two up in a room and see who walks out. Heck, disallow violence, and I still think Quinn breaks him.

Washington has an easier remaining schedule, a slightly better record at the moment, and a team hungry for its first NFC East Division title since 2020.

Pick: Washington Commanders (+125)

Betting Odds to Win the NFC West

San Francisco 49ers: -130

Arizona Cardinals: +400

LA Rams: +475

Seattle Seahawks: +500

This one is pretty simple. The San Francisco 49ers may be off to a slow start, but our eyes work. We have seen what this team can do at full strength. And, quite frankly, they continue to impress even with so many injuries.

San Francisco is the best team in the NFC West. It’s tempting to bet the resurgent Rams. They’re only half a game back from the rest of the division. They may have taken advantage of a teacher-student relationship against Minnesota, but their defense still has its holes.

That’s the story with the rest of the West. They play defense like the defunct Pac-12.

Bet Fred Warner and the Niners to hold serve in the NFC West once more.

Pick: San Francisco 49ers (-130)

Betting Odds to Win the NFC North

Detroit Lions: -140

Green Bay Packers: +325

Minnesota Vikings: +350

Chicago Bears: +1800

At first glance, I saw the affordable number next to the Detroit Lions and quickly made up my mind. After reviewing the remaining schedules, though, I think we may have some value here on the Vikings. Before Sunday's games, I liked Green Bay, but Jordan Love showed us his fragile side again, this time with a groin injury.

Okay, yes. He's tough. The guy kept playing. You can be tough and fragile. The words and tone out of head coach Matt LeFleur's mouth, though, told the story as he said, "There is a high level of concern" for his groin. In retrospect, he should've gotten Love out of there much sooner. Malik Willis has done an incredible job in relief.

Outside of the Chiefs, Minnesota has the second-best 1-2 punch, with Kevin O'Connell and Brian Flores calling the plays. This is the best buy-low spot on the Vikings we've seen this year, but maybe we target their win total instead.

After the Lions beat the Packers this week at Lambeau, their betting odds to win the NFC North will skyrocket. That may be the last time we see the Lions any less than a 2-1 favorite to win their division.

Pick: Detroit Lions (-130)

Betting Odds to Win the AFC North

Baltimore Ravens: -180

Pittsburgh Steelers: +175

Cincinnati Bengals: +950

Cleveland Browns: +15000

Oh man, I wanted to jump on these odds yesterday, but I knew the results of Monday night's game would skew them. The line was (-240) for Baltimore and (+195), I believe, for Beanie Bishop's Steelers. If you were looking for a buy-low spot on the Ravens, this is it. However, it isn't low enough. And as of today, the Steelers are sitting in first place in the AFC North.

Pittsburgh has the far better defense against the pass, and they can comparably stop the run. The Steeler offense is completely different now. The only thing giving me hesitation here are the respective remaining schedules. The Steelers do have a slightly rougher remaining slate, but give me TJ Watt and Pittsburgh to take down the AFC North.

Pick: Pittsburgh Steelers (+175)

Betting Odds to Win the AFC South

Houston Texans: -2000

Indianapolis Colts: +900

Jacksonville Jaguars: +3300

Tennessee Titans: +5500

If there was ever an NFL Division that symbolized parity, it’s the AFC South. Maybe you can find some stat out there that “disproves” this, but I don’t care. Even the scores of their inter-divisional games seem to always be closer than other divisions.

Yes, Houston is currently undefeated against the AFC South, including two wins over the 2nd place Colts. It's only two games, though, and if the Texans were to lose C.J. Stroud, their entire season could be in jeopardy. It isn't like Houston has been incredibly dominant.

They are underdogs this Thursday against the Jets. Sprinkle a few bucks on the Colts here just for fun, and let's hope and pray they make a commitment to Joe Flacco because Anthony Richardson is atrocious.
