Odds Offered on Michael Vick Prison Term
by Doc's Sports - 08/29/2007
If you are like us here at Doc's Sports and you can't wait until next week for your NFL betting action, betED has posted odds on the length of the Michael Vick prison Term when he will be sentenced on Dec. 10 by Judge Henry Hudson.
Of course, Vick plead guilty this week for federal dogfighting charges and now the only questions are how much he will be fined as well as the length of his prison term.
Federal prosecutors have recommended a 12- to 18-month prison term, but the judge in the case could give him as many as five years as well as a hefty fine.
The most likely prison term for Vick would be between 10 and 18 months (money line odds of -150) and the next most likely outcome would be a prison term of between 19 and 30 months at +150 on the money line.
Other sentence lengths are: one to two months (+20000); three to five months (+4000); six to nine months (+1000); 31 to 48 months (+300); 49 months or more (+600).
The sportsbook also offers odds on the amount of fine Vick will receive, with $101,000 to $150,000 and $151,000 to $200,000 the favorites at +105.
After pleading guilty to the charges, Vick admonished dogfighting and admitted that he made a mistake. Whether this is just an attempt to regain a shred of respectability is yet to be seen. Vick has been suspended indefinitely from the NFL without pay and he will likely be forced to pay back more than $20 million in bonuses to the Atlanta Falcons. He has been dropped by all his employers for endorsements and it is expected he will be cut by the Falcons by next June.
