2023 LPGA Picks: The Ascendant Odds and Expert Betting Predictions
The LPGA will make a quick trip from Arkansas down to Texas for one final tournament, The Ascendant, in the United States before a four-tournament stretch in Asia. The Ascendant LPGA benefiting Volunteers of America have seen many of the greatest names in the game hoist the Kathy Whitworth trophy. The field is loaded this week with several players seeking a much-needed victory but only one thing is for certain; whoever is standing in the winner’s circle on Sunday will etch their name in LPGA history. Doc’s Sports will break down some of the best bets for this weekend on the LPGA Tour.

Course Characteristics of Those Who Can Win or Secure Winning Golf Bets
The Ascendant will be played at the Old American Golf Club at The Colony, Texas. The purse for this year’s event is roughly $1,800,000 and plays at a par 71 while measuring at 6,475 yards. This is the 11th year for the event and in 2022, Charley Hull claimed her second LPGA win by shooting a final round 64 to defeat Janet Lin by a single stroke.
Celine Boutier +1100
Out of all the Texas residents in the field, I think Boutier has the best chance to stand in the winner’s circle on Sunday. With three wins already on her resume this season and three additional top-10 finishes, Boutier should be on everyone’s radar for every tournament she plays in. She is also coming off a solid Solheim Cup showing in Spain. She currently ranks fifth in the Rolex Rankings and first in the CME Ranking. No one should be nervous to throw some money on Boutier to win any event.
Charlie Hull +1100
Hull has had only one week of rest after helping Team Europe secure its third straight Solheim Cup. Returning to The Ascendant LPGA benefiting Volunteers of America for the defending champion is a no-brainer for the Englishwoman. Hull won the 10th edition of the event by one stroke after getting one final birdie on the 17th hole to claim the Kathy Whitworth trophy and a new pair of cowboy boots. The 27-year-old is having an incredible season and looks poised to defend her title this weekend. Hull has recorded five top-10 finishes this year, four of which were runner-up finishes. Her most recent runner-up finish came in her last outing on the LPGA Tour at the Kroger Queen City Championship presented by P&G where Hull lost in a playoff to Minjee Lee. She should be taking plenty of good vibes with her to Texas and has a great chance to defend her title this week.
Hae Ran Ryu +1200
After five top-10 finishes and a few near missed opportunities, LPGA rookie Hae Ran Ryu finally made it to the winner’s circle last week at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship presented by P&G, extending her lead in the Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year race by over 200 points. She currently ranks 28th in the Rolex Rankings and 10th in the CME Rankings. Look for the 22-year-old to contend again this weekend and keep the momentum train rolling.
