2024 LPGA Picks: KPMG Women’s PGA Championship Odds and Expert Betting Predictions
The past two weeks have seen unprecedented comebacks on the LPGA Tour, and hopefully the third major of the season can provide the same drama. Lilia Vu returned to action last week in Michigan and sat eight strokes behind the leader heading into the final round on Sunday. After a bogey-free round of 65, she found herself in a playoff with Lexi Thompson and Grace Kim. She would birdie the third playoff hole, while the others shot par to complete the incredible comeback. Vu will be hoping for more of the same as the LPGA moves on to the third major of the year, the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship at Sahalee Country Club in Washington State. Doc’s Sports will break down the action below.

Course Characteristics of Those Who Can Win or Secure Winning Golf Bets
This is the second time that Sahalee Country Club will host the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, with Brooke Henderson standing victorious in 2016. The course was originally designed in 1969 by Ted Robinson and renovated in 1996 by Rees Jones. Sahalee Country Club consists of three nine-hole courses that include North, South, and East. The South and North combination makes up this week’s championship course. This week’s track will play as a par 72 and measures in at 6,731 yards. It features 10 par 4s, four par 5s, and four par 3s. The course can have a claustrophobic feeling with the narrow fairways and dense population of evergreen, fir, and cedar trees that enclose the poa annua greens. Most of the fairway’s dogleg and are protected with bunkering and some tricky rough. Water comes into play on six holes, including three out of the four par 3s. The scoring should be difficult as six-under par was good enough for a playoff in 2016.
Ayaka Furue +1800
I truly believe that Furue is the most underrated women’s golfer on the planet, and I will gladly back her 18-1 price tag to get the job done this week at Sahalee. She ranks fourth on the LPGA in total strokes gained this season and has not finished outside of the top-eight in four straight starts. Furue is also coming off a start at the Meijer LPGA Classic where she led the field in strokes-gained approach at +8.85. She also heads into this week ranking fourth in driving accuracy, hitting 85.4% of fairways. She checks off all the boxes you are looking for in a winner.
Hannah Green +3000
Green is looking for her second-career KPMG Women’s PGA Championship this week and comes in with solid form. She won her second start of the season in the HSBC Women’s World Championship and picked up her second win of 2024 in the LA Championship at Wilshire Country Club. Green recorded three further top-20s across her next four starts, including a runner-up finish in the Mizuho Americas Open. She ranks 6th in greens-in-regulation and 14th in approach. Her putter ranks inside the top-25, and she has recorded two out of her three best driving performances across her last three starts. Look for Green to contend this week in Washington.
Patty Tavatanakit +6600
Patty has a very appealing price tag for how under the radar her play has been this season. She hit turbulence the past two seasons, but returned to form this year with a victory in the Saudi Ladies International on the LET by seven strokes and then won her next start in the Honda LPGA Thailand. She has also finished inside the top-25 in six out of her last eight starts. Tavatanakit ranks 11th on tour off-the-tee and her irons rank 55th in approach. This could be the best value pick for the entire week.
