2024 LPGA Picks: JM Eagle LA Championship Odds and Expert Betting Predictions
Nelly Korda took down the LPGA’s first major of the season last week, and that makes five straight victories in five straight events she has played in. Can anyone stop Korda? She is only the third player all-time to win five straight events after Hall of Famers Nancy Lopez and Annika Sorenstam. She is playing unbelievable golf, and the field for this week’s event should be elated as Korda is taking the week off. The LPGA Tour heads to Wilshire Country Club in Los Angeles for the JM Eagle LA Championship. Jin Young Ko and Sei Young Kim are the co-favorites at 16-1 odds, followed by Ayaka Furue and Xiyu Lin at 18-1 odds. Doc’s Sports will break down the action for this week in Los Angeles below.

Course Characteristics of Those Who Can Win or Secure Winning Golf Bets
Wilshire Country Club is a historic course for the LPGA Tour situated in Los Angeles and has views of the famous Hollywood sign from multiple holes. It was designed in 1919 by Norman MacBeth, before Kyle Phillips completed renovations in 2008. This course is one of the shortest tracks that players will compete on all season long at 6,447 yards and plays as a par 71. Over the past five seasons, the average winning score is 13-under par. The course is littered with bunkers, with over 120 on the course, and the greens are smaller than average with sever slopes and curves. A little quirk that was added; the course turned their 10th hole par 3 into the 18th hole so they could build stands around the green for the finish.
Ruoning Yin +2200
Yin broke through last year right down the road from Wilshire to win the Fir Hills Seri Pak Championship and has not looked back. She ended up winning a major title for her second victory of 2023 and has been consistently solid to start the ’24 campaign. She has yet to miss a cut in eight starts and finished inside the top-25 in the LPGA’s first major of the year last week. She is striking the ball well, ranking 17th in OTT, 22nd in approach, and 29th in GIR. Her putter can be her weakness, but she has a strong track record on poa greens. She finished 3rd in the Portland Classic and Kroger Queen City Championship last year on poa greens. I am taking her to cook this week at Wilshire Country Club.
Hannah Green +3500
Green enters this week as the defending champion and missed the cut in last week’s Chevron Championship. Despite the missed cut, her course history at Wilshire is amazing. In her last three visits to Los Angeles, she has registered a 3rd, 2nd, and 1st-place finish. She is a big-hitter with excellent touch around the greens. She already has a victory this year at the HSBC Women’s World Championship and a top-25 finish at the Ford Championship. She ranks in the top-6 in putting at Wilshire over the last two visits and ranks in the top-5 in par 4 scoring. Green has what it takes to go back-to-back this weekend.
Andrea Lee +8000
Lee was very consistent to end the 2023 season, not missing a cut in her final 10 events. She has carried that momentum into 2024, but with much higher finishing positions. In eight starts this season, she has recorded six top-25 finishes with three of them being in the top-10. She finished 17th last weekend at the first major of the season and all signs point to another breakthrough this week. The LA native should have a home crowd in her back pocket to cheer her on to contention.
