2024 LPGA Picks: Dow Championship Odds and Expert Betting Predictions
One week removed from the LPGA’s third major of the season, the tour will head to Midland Country Club in Michigan for this week’s Dow Championship. This serves as the only team event on the LPGA schedule and resembles the PGA Tour’s Zurich Classic, which was won by Rory Mcllroy and Shane Lowry in April. There are two rounds of alternate shot and two rounds of best ball, with a 36-hole cut taking place after Friday. Doc’s Sports will take a gander at some of the best duos that could stand victorious on Sunday.

Course Characteristics of Those Who Can Win or Secure Winning Golf Bets
Ruoning Yin/Atthaya Thitikul +800
This is the youngest team in this event this weekend, but they do not play like youngsters. Both players are 21 years old and each have two LPGA victories to their credit. This is the first time that Yin and Thitikul will be playing together, but this is the second time that Yin will be participating at Midlands. Unfortunately, both times that she has competed in this event she did not make the cut. Thitikul should be fresh, as this is her eighth start of the season due to a hand injury early in the year. Look for Yin to break her missed cut streak at Midlands with the help of Thitikul. This duo could easily leave Michigan with a trophy.
Celine Boutier/Yuka Saso +1200
This duo played together last year and have plenty of chemistry as partners in this event. Last year they finished T3 at Midlands and were only three strokes off from the winner’s score. Saso has already won a major this season, the 2024 U.S. Open, and comes into this week in fine form. Boutier does not have a victory on the ’24 campaign trail but has a runner-up finish at the HSBC Women’s World Championship and six top-25 finishes. There is no doubt in my mind that these two can win this weekend.
Brooke M. Handerson/Lexi Thompson +1400
This duo missed the cut here last year, but Thompson shows up in great form this week. Thompson finished T9 at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, following a T2 at the Meijer LPGA Classic. Henderson is also playing solid golf with seven top-25 finishes, including a T22 at the PGA Championship. Both players could ride this current momentum to a victory at the Dow Championship. Plus, who knows, a victory could change Thompson’s retirement plans.
Rose Zhang/Alexa Pano +2200
This will be Zhang’s debut at the Dow Championship and only the second go-around for Pano in this event. In her first appearance at the 2023 edition, Pano finished T17 with Dewi Weber. Zhang picked up her second-career LPGA victory at the 2024 Cognizant Founders Cup. Both players on this duo are relatively new to the LPGA with Zhang turning pro in 2023 and Pano the year prior. Watch for this young pair to give all the veterans a run for their money as Zhang also has some Solheim Cup experience in her back pocket.
