Course Characteristics of Those Who Can Win or Secure Winning Golf Bets
Valderrama has been one of the most revered courses on the DP World Tour and is well known for giving players one of the tougher challenges of the season. The course plays at a par 71 and measures at 7,010 yards long. Valderrama features narrow fairways, and small greens, all outlined by gorgeous cork trees. It is one of the most aesthetically pleasing courses that you will see on the LIV Tour and should provide a difficult challenge to all competitors this weekend. Matt Fitzpatrick won here in 2021 with a score of -6, and Sergio Garcia won with a -12 in 2018. Look for in-between those two scores as the target winning score this weekend.
Cam Smith +800
This course suits Smith’s game and creativity. He played very flat at the Masters in April, but since then he has been a man on a mission. He has registered six straight top-10 finishes, and he looks in form to get his first victory of 2023 after collecting five wins last season.
Sergio Garcia +1200
This might be the easiest person to wager on this week as Garcia returns to his so-called favorite course. The Spaniard has won three times on this course throughout his career and has won seven times overall throughout Spain. The guy loves this course, as well as playing in his homeland. In addition to his three wins at this course, he also has three runner-ups on this course since 2003. Coming off a T27 finish at the U.S. Open, this is Garcia’s best chance to win a LIV event this season.
Branden Grace +2500
Grace has finished in second place in each of his last two LIV Golf starts. That gives him three top-3 finishes in 2023, adding to his third-place finish at Mayakoba to start the year. He lost in a playoff at LIV Golf Tulsa and made a good run in DC as well. Grace ranked first for Scrambling and seventh for Greens in Regulation at LIV Golf Washington DC. The South African has never played this course, but there is every reason to think that he can contend this weekend.
Dean Burmester +4000
Another guy that has experience throughout Spain and has long odds for a big payday. Burmester has been in fine form this season, finishing eighth or better in three of his five tournaments since the start of April. He is a two-time European Tour winner, and one of the victories came in Spain at the Tenerife Open back in 2021. The 34-year-old is a great longshot this week to throw a wager on.
