2023 LIV Picks: Team Championship Odds and Expert Betting Predictions
LIV Golf 2023 reaches its conclusion this week as all 12 teams will compete against each other in the finale. Our pick, Brooks Koepka, took home the hardware last weekend in the Jeddah event, and Talor Gooch outlasted Cam Smith to take home the points race. Just like every other LIV event, there will be three days of action in this team event. Two days of match-play, before an every-score-counts final round. The teams have been seeded based on final team standings after last week’s Jeddah event and The Blue Monster at Trump National Doral Golf will play host this weekend.
If you have been following Doc’s Sports LIV predictions since we started in April and you have put 1-unit on every winner prediction, you are at +2300 on the season with the final Team Championship event this weekend in Miami. Doc’s Sports will break down this weekend’s best bet in Miami below.

LIV Golf Miami Team Championship Format
Here is what you can expect down in Miami throughout the three-day event. For the first two days, we will see head-to-head match play, before a stroke play round on Sunday will determine the overall winner. All scores will count on Sunday to finalize the team scores. The top four teams in the standings will not play on Friday, because they receive a bye and head straight to the semi-finals on Saturday. The top four teams include 4Aces, Crushers, Torque, and RangeGoats, who will enjoy their Friday off. Saturday’s format will see three matches; two singles matches and one foursomes match. The four teams that stand victorious will have a chance for the championship on Sunday.
LIV Golf will revert to a stroke-play format on Sunday, where all 48 players will tee off simultaneously in a standard shotgun start. There will be three mini-leagues to determine the finishing positions of each team in the final LIV Golf standings. Friday’s losers will battle it out for 9th through 12th, Saturday’s losers will compete for 5th through 8th, and the Saturday semi-finals winners will battle it out for 1st to 4th.
I am keying in on players that have excelled at this course in the past. The PGA Tour has used this course for the WGC-Cadillac Championship from 2007-2016. Phil Mickelson won on this course in 2009, Patrick Reed stood victorious in 2014, and Dustin Johnson won in 2015. DJ also has a runner-up finish in 2011. This means the 4Aces have two previous course winners on their team in Johnson and Reed.
Golf Picks - Who to Consider This Week
We have had a solid season up to this finale and it is sad to see the year come to a close. We have correctly picked Harold Varner III at Washington DC, Bryson DeChambeau’s victory in Chicago and last week’s winner in Brooks Koepka to sit at +2300 on the LIV Golf season. Instead of spreading a few units around to different teams I am looking at 4Aces to stand in the winner’s circle on Sunday and repeat as team champs. All signs point to a repeat as they are the No. 1 seed, automatically get a bye into Saturday’s play, and have two quality players that love playing this course. I suggest putting a 3-unit play on the 4Aces and let Dustin Johnson and Patrick Reed take over. If the 4Aces win we will finish this LIV Golf season at +3290 and if they do happen to get upset, you still take home a nice +2000. Hope you enjoyed our LIV predictions this year and good luck!
To win: 4Aces (+330) – 3-unit play
