First Time Super Bowl Winner Odds and Best Bets
I recently stumbled upon these betting odds and thought, how fun! The list of teams still hanging on to hopes of playing in the postseason will quickly shrink over the next couple of weeks from where we are now at 23 teams to just 14 by season's end. A few teams have clinched already, but you get it.
These next few weeks will tell a lot. That’s all the more reason to jump on this bet now. More and more betting opportunities will become available for the Super Bowl the closer we get to the big game.
You can bet on teams to win their division, conference, and Super Bowl. You can bet on the exact matchup and/or exact result of Super Bowl LIX, and so on.
Today's bet will be a lot like picking either the NFC or the AFC to win, but the two sides are teams that have already won a Super Bowl and those hungry organizations still trying to get their first ring.
I understand this subject might be a sensitive one for some of you. Some of the first football games I ever watched were the Buffalo Bills' four consecutive Super Bowl losses back in the early 90s. It doesn't get much worse than that, but hey, you guys have what looks to be the best team with a quarterback under center currently (-900) to win the MVP.

Teams Who Have Never Won a Super Bowl
Cincinnati Bengals
Cleveland Browns
Arizona Cardinals
Atlanta Falcons
Jacksonville Jaguars
Tennessee Titans
Carolina Panthers
Detroit Lions
I hope you're okay with me skipping those teams above. None of them have less than 100-1 betting odds to win the Super Bowl. At the rate of collapse in Detroit, however, I'm also tempted to throw the Lions in that cage.
I’m joking. However, Dan Campbell and the boys in blue are decimated with injuries at the wrong time of year. They just lost running back David Montgomery for the season and are now tied with the Philadelphia Eagles as the second betting favorite behind the Bills to win the Super Bowl.
The Lions' defense is significantly depleted. I rate Philly above them at the moment.
Houston Texans
This team has the potential to beat anybody on any given day. They will, however, need second-year quarterback C.J. Stroud to perform on the road almost as well as he does inside the dome in Houston.
The Texans are currently 30-1 to win the Super Bowl. The Bucs and Steelers have the same odds, and the Broncos are 35-1. At just +2 per game in point differential this season, the Texans will slip up eventually. Give me the elements to take down Stroud in January.
Minnesota Vikings
The Minnesota Vikings have won seven in a row, and talks about potentially re-signing quarterback Sam Darnold have begun. This team isn't big or physical, but they're fast and very, very well-coached.
Minnesota still has to rematch the Packers and Lions, but they're 12-2 like Detroit and Philly and would own the tiebreaker over the Eagles due to strength of victory (the 4th tiebreaker), with a better record than Detroit should they win out.
Buffalo Bills
Yes, I saved the best for last for a reason. How can you not bet on the Bills right now? Outside of the Eagles and including the Vikings, Josh Allen's Buffalo Bills are playing better than anyone.
They just went into the dome and clearly outplayed the Lions in The Motor City. Confidence is at an all-time high for this team and their fans.
First-Time Super Bowl Winner Betting Odds
Yes: +105
No: -135
I think Detroit is done. So, it's pretty much the Bills and Vikings for (+105) vs the Eagles, Chiefs, Ravens, and Packers for (-135).
They give you the plus money on two of the three hottest teams in the league, and you think, hey, that’s a shiny object. My eyes are drawn to it.
If you like the Bills and/or the Vikings to win it, simply play them each straight up. I've included the entire list of Super Bowl LIX winner betting odds. The Vikings are 13-1 and the Bills (+425).
Take them both and hedge with the “No” bet on a first-time Super Bowl winner.
You're also getting the Steelers and the Bucs added to Team Winners. You also have to tell yourself these organizations have won Super Bowls for a reason, and I'll take big game experience over a streaky regular season.
