The following is how I see the Big Ten Conference playing out for the 2007 season. Below you will find some tidbits of how I have analyzed each team, along with their strengths and weakness.

2007 Big Ten Conference Preview
by Trevor Whenham - 07/28/2007
The Big Ten's biggest challenge this year is to prove to the world that the mounds of humiliation heaped upon them in the BCS last year were just a fluke. Ohio State was horrific in the National Championship Game that everyone in the world outside of Gainesville was certain they would win, and Michigan stunk it up so badly against USC that, as a Michigan fan, I still have a bitter taste in my mouth. Only Wisconsin looked like they belonged in their game, beating Arkansas easier than the 17-14 score would indicate.

2007 WAC Preview
by Trevor Whenham - 07/27/2007
You might not think that you know much about the Western Athletic Conference, but if you are even a somewhat committed fan of college football you probably know a bit about at least two of its teams. Boise State became the darling of the country with their stunning upset of Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl, and Hawaii got some attention thanks to their prolific offense led by Colt Brennan, the quarterback who could go high in the first round of the NFL Draft next year.

2007 Pac-10 Conference Preview
by Trevor Whenham - 07/26/2007
The story in the Pac-10 is the same as it has been for longer than nine of the teams would like to admit - USC is the class of the field, and everyone else is trying to catch up. Last year the Trojans were as vulnerable as they have been in a long while, but both Cal and Oregon State, the two teams in position to knock them off of their perch, failed to get it done when they needed to. Those two teams should be competitive again this year, and the biggest challenge could come from UCLA. Beyond that, though, there is a pretty severe drop off in quality.

2007 MAC Preview
by Trevor Whenham - 07/26/2007
Unless you are a fan of one of the teams that make up the Mid-American Conference, chances are pretty good that you aren't that familiar with the MAC. The two things people might be familiar with are only partly positive. Ben Roethlisberger became a major star out of Miami of Ohio, which is very positive, but Toledo is embroiled in a point shaving investigation over suspicious activities that took place between 2003-2006. That's not so positive.

2007 Big East Conference Preview
by Trevor Whenham - 07/25/2007
The Big East Conference tried to take a gigantic step forward in national credibility last year, but in the end they just couldn't quite succeed. Really, the problem was that the top three teams all got in each other's way. Louisville beat West Virginia, West Virginia knocked off Rutgers and Rutgers upset Louisville.

2007 Sun Belt Conference Preview
by Jordan Adams - 07/25/2007
Not exactly any editor's choice for the model of entertainment, the Sun Belt Conference once again has its difficulties in pulling the average college football fan in and making their games fun to watch. If anything, the rise back to the top of Troy should help, as the Trojans are the most recognizable program hidden in the mid south.

2007 Mountain West Conference Preview
by Jordan Adams - 07/24/2007
Will 2007 be the fourth consecutive year that this league produces an undefeated league champ? Utah did so in 2004 and earned a BCS berth. The following year it was TCU in their first season removed from Conference USA. Last season we saw BYU rise to the top of the conference with its high-powered aerial attack. Now the Cougars look to defend their league crown, although the departed all-conference quarterback John Beck will leave quite a big hole unfilled for his team.

2007 Conference USA Preview
by Trevor Whenham - 07/24/2007
Conference USA is entering the third season since it was ripped apart by the series of conference shuffles that was started by the move of Miami and Virginia Tech to the ACC. Before those changes this was a pretty decent conference, with teams like Louisville and TCU providing some reasonable excitement. Both of those top teams moved to greener pastures, and we are left with a rivalry between Houston and Southern Miss for conference supremacy. It's not a wonder no one pays any attention to C-USA.

2007 ACC Conference Preview
by Jordan Adams - 07/23/2007
Long dominated by the likes of Miami, Florida State and Virginia Tech, parity seems more likely than ever in the Atlantic Coastal Conference. In 2006 Wake Forest rose from obscurity to become league champs -- the third time in as my years a new champion was crowned.

2007 Big 12 Conference Preview
by Jordan Adams - 07/23/2007
For many years it was considered that the winner of the Red River Shootout, the annual Oklahoma/Texas rivalry, would dictate the conference race and go on to represent as the league champ in the BCS. While Texas will do everything to make sure they keep that trend alive, 2007 might be the year that others emerge as a top contender.
