2015 Philadelphia Eagles Predictions: Season Win Totals Odds and Picks
by Robert Ferringo - 8/18/2015
Outside of San Francisco, the Philadelphia Eagles had the wildest, most bizarre, most active offseason in the NFL. Chip Kelly has been criticized for everything from being a racist to being a madman, while also being hailed as some kind of mad scientist genius. Like it or not, he is the one responsible for this team, and he'll be the one to answer for their success or failure.
2015 Kansas City Chiefs Predictions: Season Win Totals Odds and Picks
by Robert Ferringo - 8/18/2015
The Chiefs are a team on a razor's edge heading into 2015. They lost more than they gained during the offseason and have one of the most difficult schedules in the league this year. But Andy Reid is nothing if not a proven winner, having won nine or more games in five of the past seven seasons and 11 of the last 15 years.
2015 Houston Texans Predictions: Season Win Totals Odds and Picks
by Robert Ferringo - 8/18/2015
The Houston Texans had one of the quietest nine-win seasons in the NFL last season. Now second-year coach Bill O'Brien is trying to take the next step and vault the Texans to the level of legitimate contender to Indianapolis' chokehold on the AFC South crown.
2015 Miami Dolphins Predictions: Season Win Totals Odds and Picks
by Robert Ferringo - 8/18/2015
The New England Patriots have had all the drama this offseason. The Buffalo Bills have had all the hype. And the New York Jets have once again devolved into a punch line and the team in the AFC East most deserving of a laugh track. But the fourth team in that division, the Miami Dolphins, has been kind of the forgotten team and they enter the season as somewhat of a Wild Card in the AFC race.
2015 Tennessee Titans Predictions: Season Win Totals Odds and Picks
by Robert Ferringo - 8/18/2015
The Tennessee Titans 2014 season defies logic. This was a team that I was looking at to be a competitive, solid against the spread team. Instead they were a complete and total disaster that got hammered week-in and week-out. I still can't really tell you what happened (beyond laughable quarterback play and comical defensive effort). But I can tell you that I expect them to be much better this time around.
2015 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Predictions: Season Win Totals Odds and Picks
by Robert Ferringo - 8/18/2015
Lovie Smith is a great guy and a good coach. He has a proven system and has had a lot of success in the NFL. I want to like the Bucs this season, and I'd like to see Lovie succeed. But it is blatantly obvious that Tampa Bay won't be much better this season, and the reason boils down to two words: Jameis Winston.
2015 Jacksonville Jaguars Predictions: Season Win Totals Odds and Picks
by Robert Ferringo - 8/18/2015
If you clicked on this link because you were curious about my thoughts on how Jacksonville would do this season, you need to re-evaluate your life choices. All kidding aside, the Jaguars are horrendous. They are one of the most nondescript, unnecessary, unaccomplished franchises in all of sports, and their fan base, such as it were, is in for another season of blowouts, flameouts, and general incompetence.
2015 Indianapolis Colts Predictions: Season Win Totals Odds and Picks
by Robert Ferringo - 8/12/2015
The Indianapolis Colts enter the season as one of the sweetheart teams in the NFL. This seemingly up-and-coming group is one of the favorites to win the AFC and kind of a sheik, sexy pick by prognosticators to win the Super Bowl.
2015 Buffalo Bills Predictions: Season Win Totals Odds and Picks
by Robert Ferringo - 8/12/2015
The Bills have everything that a serious contender needs in the NFL. They have a Top 5 defense that is bursting with top-tier talent. They have high-class skill players, with Pro Bowlers at running back and receiver. They have powerful offensive and defensive lines. They have a veteran coaching staff that has taken part in big games. And they have rabid fan and organizational support for a franchise desperate for a winner.
NFL Handicapping: New Offensive Coordinators for 2015
by Robert Ferringo - 8/11/2015
Very rarely do you hear common fans complimenting their team's offensive coordinator. That's mainly because football is way too complicated a game for the average fan to understand offensive schemes, variations and executions. Just the names of NFL plays - flip right double-X jet 36 counter naked wagglet seven X quarter, for example - look more like surrealist poetry than they do anything a normal adult male can process.
NFL Handicapping: New Defensive Coordinators for 2015
by Robert Ferringo - 8/11/2015
The Seattle Seahawks have ridden their amazing defense to back-to-back Super Bowls and frontrunner status heading into the upcoming season. And several Seattle defensive assistants have ridden the Seahawks' defensive accomplishments to new jobs for 2015.
2015 Cincinnati Bengals Predictions: Season Win Totals Odds and Picks
by Robert Ferringo - 8/11/2015
The Bengals don't realize it. They can't. But the truth is that these are the halcyon days. They are The Good Old Days for some amorphous future. And instead of embracing and enjoying the best three- and four-year regular-season stretches in franchise history, the Cincinnati faithful are left to lament their lack of playoff success.
2015 Baltimore Ravens Predictions: Season Win Totals Odds and Picks
by Robert Ferringo - 8/11/2015
The Baltimore Ravens have been a model of consistency in the erratic world of NFL organizations. Baltimore has finished .500 or better in seven straight seasons, making the playoffs six times, and are a perpetual threat to win the AFC.
2015 Pittsburgh Steelers Predictions: Season Win Totals Odds and Picks
by Robert Ferringo - 8/11/2015
Based purely on the preseason odds, the Steelers appear to be one of the top teams in the NFL and a "sleeper" team to win a banner or two. They are currently No. 9 in terms of odds to win the Super Bowl and tied for fourth in their odds to win the AFC. The Steelers won 11 games last season and boast one of the best offenses in the league. What's not to like?
2015 Cleveland Browns Predictions: Season Win Totals Odds and Picks
by Robert Ferringo - 8/11/2015
Oh, Cleveland, you bunch of utter incompetents. God bless you. We couldn't have consistently dominant franchises like Pittsburgh and Baltimore if we didn't have the other side of the coin. And the Browns are other side all right. The dark side.
2015 Oregon Ducks Season Win Total Picks and NCAA Football Predictions
by Robert Ferringo - 7/24/2015
The Quack Attack keeps, well, quacking. Oregon lost in the National Championship Game last year. But they are retooled, reloaded, and ready to make another run at the school's first national title. However, I think Oregon's season win total says a lot about how vulnerable they are this year. For a team that's averaged 10.6 wins over the last decade, to face just a 9.5 season win total is a bit of a red flag.
2015 Arizona State Sun Devils Season Win Total Picks and NCAA Football Predictions
by Robert Ferringo - 7/24/2015
Last year's Sun Devils were one of the biggest surprises in the country, lurching out to an 8-1 start and climbing to No. 7 in the country after they demolished Notre Dame 55-21. But Arizona State, which started last season with just eight returning starters, lost two of their final three regular-season games and barely held on for a bowl win.
2015 Arizona Wildcats Season Win Total Picks and NCAA Football Predictions
by Robert Ferringo - 7/24/2015
Rich Rodriguez has rebuilt his reputation out in the desert and has Arizona poised as a contender in the Pac-12 again this season. However, they will have to shake off a disappointing end to an excellent 2014; they were hammered in the Pac-12 Championship and their bowl game by a combined 89-43 score.
2015 Utah Utes Season Win Total Picks and NCAA Football Predictions
by Robert Ferringo - 7/24/2015
It was obvious that Utah was going to need some time to adjust to the Pac-12. But heading into their fifth season in the league it looks like the Utes are on solid footing and ready to be a factor in the South race. This is one of Kyle Whittingham's best teams, and they appear set to build on last year's nine-win campaign.
2015 Cal Golden Bears Season Win Total Picks and NCAA Football Predictions
by Robert Ferringo - 7/24/2015
Cal has been a very good team for my bankroll the past two seasons. I bet against them heavily in 2013 as they bumbled their way to a 1-11 season (2-10 against the spread). But then last year I was on the bandwagon early, hitting several big plays on the improved Golden Bears as they posted five wins and got off to a 7-3 ATS start.
