I used to say that fantasy football was for wussies that didn't have the stones to bet on sports. But now, as daily fantasy sites like Draft Kings and Fan Duel have become more mainstream, fantasy football is the only way some people will consider betting on sports.

Fan Duel and Draft Kings have revolutionized the fantasy football industry. When these companies hit the scene in 2009 and 2012, respectively, they were novelties. Then in 2015, thanks to an overly aggressive marketing campaign, daily fantasy sports hit the mainstream. And since then daily fantasy sports have exploded, generating hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue for the companies while paying out even more than that to daily fantasy players.

The connections between standard sports wagering and daily fantasy sports are obvious. Both are forms of investing that require skill, knowledge, discipline and sound money management. Both are market-based and require the same foundation of solid gambling fundamentals. And both are potentially lucrative for intrepid players.

As a result, this year I will be offering fantasy football selections to my standard football service. This service will not cost anything and will be included with my weekly selections. Consider this a bonus for those that are into daily fantasy sports as a form of either entertainment or investing.

My college football and NFL selections are released every Thursday at 6 p.m. EST. Below my weekly predictions I will include an Optimum NFL Line-Up, based on Draft Kings pricing and leagues, for my clients to utilize each weekend. I will provide the specific league, contest or head-to-head format for which this Optimum Line-Up was chose as well as a brief write-up detailing why certain players were picked.

Take #256 Chicago Bears +3 over Minnesota Vikings (1p.m., Sunday, November 24 FOX) We used the Bears as a free play winner last Sunday and easily covered the spread and should have been an underdog outright winner. Now we will ride them for a second straight week against another NFC North rival, the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings are 8-2 on the season, yet are only around a field goal favorite. I still do not trust Sam Donald to win consistently over the course of a 17 game regular season. Minnesota is not as good as their 8-2 record would indicate and playing outdoors in Chicago on Sunday will cause issues for them on both sides of the ball. Chicago has been hit or miss this season, but they will be up to play another divisional rival and we expect them to take this down to the wire as well.
