2025 Atlanta Braves Predictions with World Series Odds and Season Win Total Picks

There may have been no more disappointing team from last season than the Atlanta Braves. Though they were ravaged by injuries early in the season, they had a lot of their players disappear from the spotlight. They did manage to win 89 games and grab hold of a wild card spot, but they finished four games worse than their expected record of 93-69. Their time in the playoffs was short lived, as they were swept by the San Diego Padres, scoring just four runs in two games. The Braves went 18-25 in one-run games and finished six games behind the Philadelphia Phillies for the top spot in the NL East.
Marcell Ozuna was incredible last season for the Braves, as he earned some MVP votes after leading this offense. Ozuna led the team with a 4.3 WAR after hitting .302 with a .925 OPS, 39 homeruns, 104 RBIs, and 96 runs. Matt Olson recovered from an extremely slow start to his campaign and finished with a 4.0 WAR with 29 homeruns and 98 RBIs. Ozuna and Olson were the only two Braves players to appear in all 162 games. Ronald Acuna appeared in just 49 games before tearing his ACL, while Ozzie Albies faced multiple injuries that held him to just 99 games. Austin Riley and Michael Harris II were limited to 110 games and combined for a 6.0 WAR. Orlando Arcia took a big step back last season, where he hit just .218 with a lowly .625 OPS. The once highly feared lineup for the Braves finished just 15th in runs, 12th in OPS, 15th in hits, 28th in stolen bases, and 17th in walks.
Despite their offense taking a huge step backwards, the Braves pitching staff saved their season. They were tied for the league lead in ERA (3.49) and they finished third in WHIP (1.16) while allowing the second least amount of homeruns. Chris Sale came out of nowhere and won the NL Cy Young award after posting a 6.2 WAR across 177.2 innings of work. He went 18-3 with 18 quality starts while finishing with a league best 2.38 ERA. He also finished second in the league in strikeouts, and sixth in WHIP. Reynaldo Lopez also reached new heights, as the former reliever posted a 1.99 ERA across 135.2 innings and finished second on the team with a 5.1 WAR. Raisel Iglesias was also as reliable as ever out of the bullpen as the veteran closer finished with 34 saves and a 1.95 ERA.

Atlanta Braves Key Additions/Losses
Atlanta lost a lot of key veterans who have been a part of the franchise for a few seasons. Charlie Morton, Max Fried, Jesse Chavez, A.J. Minter, and Adam Duvall all became free agents, while Gio Urshela, Whit Merrifield, and Cavan Biggio’s time in Atlanta were short lived. The Braves also traded Jorge Soler to the Los Angeles Angels, and they declined the options on Travis d’Arnaud and Luke Jackson. The team later non-tendered Ramon Laureno and Huascar Ynoa and they loss Allan Winans to the Yankees.
Despite all the noise from the New York Yankees, Los Angeles Dodgers, and the New York Mets, the Braves were relatively quiet this offseason. They added infielder Nick Allen to provide some depth on the bench and outfielder Bryan De La Cruz to platoon in left field with Jarred Kelenic. Their biggest move of the offseason was their signing of Jurickson Profar, who agreed to a three-year deal. The Braves also took fliers on Garrett Cooper, Chasen Shreve, Wander Suero, Chad Kuhl, Dylan Covey, Jake Diekman, Jake Marisnick, and Buck Farmer as they all signed minor league deals.
Atlanta Braves Prospect Outlook
The farm system is inevitably weaker for the Braves than it once was. However, they are positioned better than most teams in the league as they had locked up most of their core players early. However, they have just the 27th ranked farm system in the MLB and they have just two players in the MLB’s Top 100 Prospects rankings. Catcher Drake Baldwin is expected to replace d’Arnaud on the roster, as the 23-year-old backstop brings some solid power to the Braves roster. He is the 63rd ranked prospect overall. Behind him is left-handed pitcher Cam Caminiti, who is the 89th ranked prospect overall and the second ranked prospect internally.
Atlanta Braves X-Factors
Health- This extends past the health of Acuna and Spencer Strider. Acuna will likely never run the bases the same after tearing his ACL in both knees, but the power is still there, and he will be an important piece to this Braves lineup that will have to compete with the Phillies in Mets in the NL East. Sean Murphy is going to miss the start of the regular season already, though his absence should be short, which means the Braves will be without two of their everyday starters to begin the season. More importantly than their lineup, who could survive without the previously two mentioned bats, the health of their rotation is vital to the Braves’ success. We saw the Braves put together the best pitching staff in the MLB last season without their best starter in Strider. However, now with no Fried, the Braves will be entirely dependent on Sale maintaining his health and Lopez and Spencer Schwellenbach performing at the same level or better than last season. Sale’s career has been decimated by injuries, while Strider may come back to be just a shell of his former self. Now that Fried is in pinstripes, Sale and Strider have to carry the rotation.
Atlanta Braves Expectations
The expectations around the league are for the Braves to return to form and compete with the Dodgers, Phillies, and Mets as top dogs in the National League. With a healthy Acuna, the addition of Profar, and a lineup that performs as expected, the Braves will go back to having the best lineup in the MLB. If Strider can return to form and Sale can stay healthy, they have an incredible 1-2 punch in the rotation. This year’s roster, if healthy, can win the World Series. However, there is a lot riding on the health of the starting rotation, as there is little to no depth now that Fried and Morton have departed for new teams.

2025 Atlanta Braves Predictions
The Braves’ win total was expected to be 93, with all the injuries factored in. They performed four games worse than that. However, heading into this season, they are getting their ace and former MVP back. With their returns, along with a (wishful) healthy season from their other stars like Riley, Harris, and Albies, the Braves should have no problem finding their way to a 95+ win team. I like the over on the win total here. However, the Philadelphia Phillies will head into the year as the best team in the NL East and the New York Mets have also improved greatly, which has significantly raised the competition level of this division compared to recent years. Atlanta is likely to fall into a bit of a hole early with the extended absence of Strider and Acuna, and they likely won’t be in the discussion for the division winner unless they make a significant move, or the Phillies/Mets have significant injuries of their own. At +900, they are a solid dark horse candidate to win the World Series. At full strength, they can take down anyone, including the Los Angeles Dodgers. It all depends on if the Braves can stay healthy.
