A. AT&T Byron Nelson Classic. Billy Horschel had not won since going back-to-back at the BMW Championship and the Tour Championship in 2014 to win the FexEx Cup. Jason Day had not won since lifting The Players Championship trophy in May of 2016. They dueled down the stretch last week, and it was Horschel who ended up ending his drought by beating Day in a playoff at the Byron Nelson. Day missed a 15-footer on the 18th that would have sealed the deal in regulation and then erred on a four-foot par putt on the first playoff hole.
Sports Betting Futures Odds: Free from Federer, Nadal Aims for 10th French Open Title
by Ricky Dimon - 5/24/2017
One of the year's four biggest tennis tournaments begins on Sunday at Roland Garros, where Rafael Nadal is eyeing his 10th French Open title. Roger Federer is skipping the event, thus making Nadal an even more overwhelming favorite. Indy Car's biggest race of the season also takes place this weekend with the Indianapolis 500.

by Doc's Sports - 5/23/2017
The conference finals in both the NBA and the NHL playoffs continue to wind down in anticipation of the start of the best-of-seven championship series in both of these sports. Case of the Mondays: Just Go Ahead and Start the Finals?
by Ricky Dimon - 5/22/2017
The first two rounds of the NBA playoffs were expected to be snoozefests, and that is exactly what they were. Expectations were higher with Cleveland and Golden State running into Boston and San Antonio, respectively, in the conference finals. So much for that idea. With MVP candidate Kawhi Leonard having been on the sideline for two full games and part of another, the Spurs trail the Warriors 3-0. The Celtics stole Game 3 on Sunday, but they still trail the Cavaliers 2-1 and Isaiah Thomas is done for the playoffs.

A. Anaheim Ducks. Ducks haven't been this excited since Charlie Conway led the Mighty Ducks past the Hawks in the aptly-named 1992 film "The Mighty Ducks." These Ducks finally ended their Game 7 woes, halting a streak of five such losses by beating Edmonton 2-1 last Wednesday. However, Anaheim currently trails Nashville 2-1 in the Western Conference Finals.

Sports Betting Futures Odds: Always Dreaming Bidding for Second Leg of Triple Crown
by Ricky Dimon - 5/16/2017
It's a big week in sports, with the NBA and NHL playoffs in full flight, the NBA Draft lottery on Tuesday, another star-studded golf tournament, and most of the top tennis players in the world fine-tuning their games for the upcoming French Open. But the big story could involve a horse. After winning the Kentucky Derby, Always Dreaming is heading to this weekend's Preakness Stakes as the obvious favorite.
Case of the Mondays: Celtics Pushed to Game 7, Rockets Out in Six
by Ricky Dimon - 5/15/2017
The Western Conference Finals got off to an early start on Sunday thanks to the fact that no Game 7 was necessary in what had previously been a competitive conference semifinal showdown between San Antonio and Houston. James Harden failed to deliver as the Rockets got unceremoniously bounced out of the playoffs in front of their home fans. The Celtics, meanwhile, are back at home on Monday after they squandered a late lead in a potential clincher at Washington this past Friday.

A. Always Dreaming. For the fifth straight year, the post-time favorite won the Kentucky Derby. Trained by Todd Pletcher with jockey John Velazquez on board, Always Dreaming triumphed at Churchill Downs last Saturday by 2 and ¾ lengths over 33-1 long shot Lookin at Lee. Two more races for Always Dreaming and then it will be time to make babies. He is +300 at MyBookie.ag to win the Triple Crown.
Weekly Q&A with Doc's Sports Expert Handicapper Raphael Esparza
by Doc's Sports - 5/9/2017
It's a mixed bag when it comes to betting on sports this week from two winner-take-all Game 7 showdowns in the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs, The Players Championship in professional golf and the start of the 2017 WNBA regular season this weekend. In this week's discussion with Doc's Sports expert handicapper Raphael Esparza, we will get his take on all these sporting events as well as the current playoff picture in the NBA Conference Semifinals.
Sports Betting Futures Odds: Warriors, Cavaliers Putting on Two-Team Show in Playoffs
by Ricky Dimon - 5/9/2017
To the surprise of no one, Golden State and Cleveland are making a mockery of the NBA Playoffs so far. They have combined to play four series, and all four have been sweeps. The Warriors erased Portland and then had no problem with Utah. Cleveland took care of Indiana before blitzing Toronto. Will the Spurs, Rockets, Celtics, or Wizards be able to make things interesting before a seemingly inevitable final?
Case of the Mondays:Raptors Swept Out of Playoffs, Jazz next?
by Ricky Dimon - 5/8/2017
The Toronto Raptors and Utah Jazz did well to win their first-round playoff series. Neither one, however, is going to last long in the conference semifinals. Toronto got swept by the defending champion Cleveland Cavaliers and Utah is one loss away from suffering the same fate at the hands of the Golden State Warriors. Like the Raptors, the New York Rangers are also dangerously close to being able to make their offseason tee times because they have dropped a slew of close contests against the Ottawa Senators.

A. Alexander, Leslie. The Rockets' owner was fined $100,000 for leaving his courtside seat and yelling at referee Bill Kennedy during Houston's series-clinching Game 5 win over Oklahoma City last Tuesday.Alexander should feel better about the loss of $100,000 because his team beat San Antonio by about a million points in Game 1 on Monday-or because $100,000 is chump change for him. The Rockets are +5.5 road underdogs on Wednesday, per BetOnline Sportsbook.
Sports Betting Futures Odds: Kentucky Derby Kicks Off Triple Crown Season
by Ricky Dimon - 5/3/2017
May is a month that belongs to basketball, hockey, and also to horses. As playoffs heat up in the NBA and NHL, the Triple Crown season begins on the horse track. It all starts with this Saturday's Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs, where the likes of Classic Empire, Always Dreaming, and McCraken will try to follow in the footsteps of 2015 Triple Crown winner American Pharoah.

Case of the Mondays: Clippers Unceremoniously Bounced Out of Playoffs
by Ricky Dimon - 5/1/2017
The Los Angeles Clippers did not last long in the NBA Playoffs. Granted the Clippers and the Utah Jazz were likely playing for nothing more than the right to get blown out by the Golden State Warriors in round two, but it still would have been nice-especially for Paul Pierce-if L.A. had treated the Staples Center crowd to a win on Sunday. Instead, the Clippers are going (or staying) home and can join the Chicago Bulls at various offseason golf courses.
Sports Betting Futures Odds: NFL Schedule is Out, and Now the Draft
by Ricky Dimon - 4/26/2017
NFL teams got to look at their schedules starting last week. Now they must get back to looking at their draft boards, as the NFL Draft is set to begin on Thursday night. Meanwhile, the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs has concluded and now the two title favorites-Washington and Pittsburgh-have to go head-to-head in the Eastern Conference semifinals.
Weekly Q&A with Doc's Sports Expert Handicapper Raphael Esparza
by Doc's Sports - 4/25/2017
Doc's Sports: One of the top semifinal matchups in the NHL's Western Conference pits the Edmonton Oilers against the Anaheim Ducks in a Pacific Division clash. The Ducks come in as favorites on the series price odds, but do have them coming out on top against Connor McDavid and the potent Oilers?
This Week in Sports Betting, A-Z
by Ricky Dimon - 4/25/2017
A. Atlanta Braves. The Braves were supposed to be bad. But they have already been really bad for extended stretches in the early stages of the season. Atlanta has losing streaks of five games (April 6-11) and six games (current). Fortunately for the 6-12 Braves, they got to a play a four-game series against the Padres-whom they swept.
Case of the Mondays: Clippers Again Plagued by Injury in Playoffs
by Ricky Dimon - 4/24/2017
The Los Angeles Clippers are no strangers to seeing playoff runs derailed by injuries. Unless they work some miracles during their road through the Western Conference, the story will be the same this time around. Power forward Blake Griffin is out for the postseason with a toe injury. On the bright side, at least L.A. is still alive at the moment and tied with the Jazz 2-2 in that first-round series.
