A. Argentina. Lionel Messi and company were minutes away from getting knocked out of the World Cup in the group stage for just the second time ever. Instead, Marcos Rojo found the back of the net in the 86th minute and Argentina beat Nigeria 2-1 to advance out of Group D and send the Super Eagles packing. France is a +130 favorite at Bovada Sportsbook to beat the Argentines prior to penalty picks on Saturday.
Sports Betting Futures Odds: Federer, Serena Favored at Wimbledon
by Ricky Dimon - 6/27/2018
If it seems like the French Open just ended, well, it did. There is almost no time between tennis' clay-court major and its grass-court slam, as Wimbledon is set to begin next Monday. Roger Federer and Serena Williams are the favorites, but neither one looks like a stone-cold lock. On the golf course, meanwhile, Tiger Woods is back this week.

While the first half of the MLB regular season rapidly comes to a close, the first few weeks of the CFL 2018 schedule are officially in the books. All this betting action sets the stage for this week's discussion with Doc's Sports expert handicapper Raphael Esparza.
Case of the Mondays: Sweden Fails to Put Away Germany at World Cup
by Ricky Dimon - 6/25/2018
Sweden had a chance to punch its ticket to the knockout stage of the World Cup when it took the field for a recent showdown against Germany. Instead, the Swedes now need a favorable result against Mexico while the defending champion Germans are still alive. In other sports that have taken a back seat to soccer for the time being, it was a rough week for Dwight Howard, Jameis Winston, Roger Federer, and others.

Doc's Sports expert handicapper Raphael Esparza prides himself on diversity when it comes to the wide array of betting events that are a big part of his weekly selection packages. If you can bet on it, he has probably handicapped it or even helped set the odds in conjunction with some of the biggest online sportsbooks in business today. Case of the Mondays: Germany's Title Defense Begins with Loss to Mexico
by Ricky Dimon - 6/18/2018
The 2018 World Cup is underway. Germany apparently did not get the memo. The defending champions lost their opener to Mexico this past weekend, but of course there is still time for them to turn things around and advance out of the group stage. But there won't be another chance until 12 months from now for Phil Mickelson to make amends for his latest U.S. Open failure.

A. Aaron Judge. Judge struck out eight times last Monday. No, that is not misprint. But in fairness to Judge, the Yankees played a double-header that day. So, no…he did not strike out eight times in one game (three in the opener, five in the nightcap). Fortunately for the 26-year-old, he has hit safely in three straight contests and has struck out "only" three times during this stretch.

Sports Betting Futures Odds: Johnson Warms Up for U.S. Open with Win
by Ricky Dimon - 6/12/2018
The season's second tennis major has come and gone, with Rafael Nadal and Simona Halep triumphing at the French Open. Now it is time for golf's second go-around in 2018, as Tiger Woods and others descend on Shinnecock Hills in New York. In even bigger news, the World Cup begins this week in Russia.
Case of the Mondays: Cavaliers, Golden Knights Slump to Anticlimactic Ends
by Ricky Dimon - 6/11/2018
Is the LeBron James era over in Cleveland? That is the question of the summer. We know the 2017-18 NBA season is over, and it ended in unceremonious fashion for the Cavaliers. LeBron at least did well to make it back to the finals, and the same can be said of Vegas in the NHL. But the Golden Knights also bowed out in relatively listless fashion, falling in five games to Alex Ovechkin and the Capitals.

A. Angel Hernandez. The longtime Major League Baseball umpire thinks he has been continually left off postseason assignments due to racial bias (he is part Cuban) and an alleged grudge against him held by MLB vice president. Wrong! As we have already seen time and time again this year, Hernandez is continually left off postseason assignments due to the fact that he is absolutely awful at umpiring baseball games.
Sports Betting Futures Odds: Justify Eyes Triple Crown at Belmont
by Ricky Dimon - 6/6/2018
As if Justify needed any help, the field for this weekend's Belmont Stakes has been depleted of late. That means the reigning Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner is a considerable favorite to complete the Triple Crown. Speaking of triples, Stephen Curry is making a lot of those in the NBA Finals and may not be far away from becoming a triple NBA champion.

Case of the Mondays: Cavaliers Go Home Trailing Warriors 2-0
by Ricky Dimon - 6/4/2018
If there is any good news for the Cavaliers, it's that they are going home. Unfortunately for them, that's where they might stay. Cleveland will have to win at least one of the next two games to take the NBA Finals back to Golden State. As for the Stanley Cup Finals, Vegas and Washington are already three games in, and it is the Capitals who currently in charge. On the links, meanwhile, Tiger Woods turned in another performance that saw him contend briefly before faltering.
Weekly Q&A with Doc's Sports Expert Handicapper Raphael Esparza
by Doc's Sports - 5/29/2018
For the fourth-straight season, the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors will face one another in the NBA Finals. Golden State has the 2-1 edge with world titles in 2015 and 2017, and it has been opened as a heavy favorite on the series price to win again this year. Over in the NHL, the Stanley Cup Finals are underway with Vegas holding the early 1-0 series lead against Washington. We will check in with Doc's Sports expert handicapper Raphael Esparza to get his betting insight on each of these series along with a few other hot trending betting topics.

The 33-year-old won 12 La Liga titles, four Champions League titles, and scored the game-winning goal for Spain in the 2010 World Cup final against the Netherlands. Spain is +650 at BookMaker to win the World Cup.
Case of the Mondays: Jets Become Expansion Knights' Latest Victim
by Ricky Dimon - 5/21/2018
Not even the previously red-hot Winnipeg Jets could avoid a season-ending fate at the hands of the expansion Vegas Golden Knights. Is Vegas in line for a finals showdown against the Tampa Bay Lightning, or will the Washington Capitals avoid another playoff meltdown? On the hardwood, meanwhile, a back-and-forth Western Conference Finals has taken another turn for the worse for the Houston Rockets.

A. Ayton, DeAndre. Will Ayton soon be a member of the Phoenix Suns? Phoenix won the NBA Draft lottery on Tuesday, and the former Arizona big man is a possible No.1 pick. Hey, at least it's not as bad as Baker Mayfield, Denzel Ward, and Nick Chubb having to go to the Cleveland Browns. Not even close.
