Weekly Football Betting Public Action Report
by Trevor Whenham - 10/3/2014
It wasn’t the best week for the Public Action Report last week -- the record was 1-3 ATS, with Miami’s solid win over Duke the only game we were on the right side of. There are going to be weeks like that, though, and after such a red-hot start to the season it was almost inevitable that we would run into it sooner or later. This week we come back with four more games -- three from college football and one from the NFL -- in the search for more success at the betting windows.
Football Odds Weekly Report on Most Significant Line Moves
by Aaron Smith - 10/2/2014
With conference play now started for everyone, the college football slate this weekend is the best of the year so far by a mile. This is the type of weekend where you make sure you don’t have things to do on Saturday afternoon/night. Spend the day on the sofa or recliner taking in the games! It might not be the biggest matchups of the year in pro football, but in a league like the NFL there is never a dull weekend. It’s a great weekend to be a football fan!
This Week in Sports Betting, A-Z

A. Allen, Dennis. The Raiders don't always get the spotlight on Monday night, but when they do, they prefer firing their head coach. They did just that earlier this week, canning Allen following a 0-4 start to the season. Now if they would only get rid of general manager Reggie McKenzie. Then the Black Hole faithful would really have something about which to rejoice.
Weekly Q&A with Doc’s Sports Expert Handicapper Raphael Esparza
by Doc's Sports - 9/30/2014
Doc’s Sports: There are a number of head-to-head matchups between nationally-ranked teams on this week’s college football schedule with three big showdowns alone in the SEC. Of those three games, which SEC team do you see having the best shot at pulling off the upset?
Case of the Mondays: Steelers Catch Whatever Ails Panthers
by Ricky Dimon - 9/29/2014
The Steelers and Panthers squared off in Week 3, and the result was pure embarrassment for the latter team. Unfortunately for Pittsburgh, it apparently caught whatever disease Carolina had. Mike Tomlin’s squad came back out in Week 4 and lost at home to the Bucs—who had been humiliated by Atlanta 56-14 one week earlier. As for the Panthers, their doldrums continued with a 38-10 blowout loss at Baltimore.
Betting with The Prop Machine and Free Monday Pick
by Doc's Sports - 9/29/2014
Last football season, The Prop Machine generated a return of over $27,000 on its entire selection package. Over the past six years the winning percentage for football has remained over 60 percent, and in four of those years it exceeded 66 percent. So far this season, The Prop Machine is 67-36 for college football picks, and a $100 bettor following the recommended unit plays would be up $7,780. The early returns for the NFL have been hit or miss. However, The Prop Machine definitely scored a hit with last week’s picks in the pros.
Weekly Football Betting Public Action Report
by Trevor Whenham - 9/26/2014
The Public Action Report has been just burning it up to start the season in college football. Last week just one game in college fit our criteria, but it was again a gem — Indiana was correctly identified to cover against Missouri, and they went one step further and pulled off the big upset. We are back with another Indiana play this week as part of a four-game college slate.
Football Odds Weekly Report on Most Significant Line Moves
by Aaron Smith - 9/26/2014
Week 5 of the college football season and Week 4of the NFL season are here. This is the time of the year where bye weeks start in the NFL, so there aren’t quite as many games this weekend. In college football, many teams are starting conference play either this week or next week. It’s a pretty good slate of games this weekend, so bettors and fans alike should enjoy this weekend’s action.

A. ACL. Invoking memories of former kicker Bill Gramatica, who suffered a torn ACL in the midst of a leaping celebration following a successful field goal, Lions’ linebacker Stephen Tulloch sustained the same injury last Sunday. How? After making a stop against Green Bay, Tulloch attempted—and failed—to do Aaron Rodgers’ discount double-check. The good news for Gramatica is that this video is even funnier.
Sports Betting Futures Weekly Report: Bucs Being Left Behind in Otherwise Competitive South
by Ricky Dimon - 9/25/2014
No division’s top three teams are separated by a smaller margin in the odds department than those of the NFC South. The favored Saints are one game back of the Falcons and Panthers, while the lowly Bucs have already been left for dead. While Week 4 of the NFL takes center stage this week, the Ryder Cup and Sprint Cup are also on course for headlines.

Doc’s Sports: The biggest game on tap in Week 5 of the college football season is a Thursday night showdown between UCLA and Arizona State. We all know what a huge Pac-12 fan you are, so can you give us the inside scoop on which one of these nationally-ranked programs comes away with the win?

The start of the MLB Playoffs is right around the corner, and football gets ready to close out its first full month of games this weekend. Whether you have been raking it in during the month of September or you are still trying to recoup some major losses to your bankroll, it’s always important to look for ways to gain an edge on the oddsmakers when it comes to betting on sports.
Case of the Mondays: Niners, ‘Skins Lose Tough Divisional Games
by Ricky Dimon - 9/22/2014
The only thing worse than losing is losing to a division rival, which is exactly what San Francisco and Washington did in Week 3 on the NFL schedule. It sets you just one game back in the standings, but it can potentially have more of a lasting impact. Speaking of a lasting impact, Tony Stewart is still reeling both on and off the track, Manchester United is still slumping, and it remains to be seen if—and how—Clemson can recover from wasting a golden opportunity at Florida State.
Football Odds Weekly Report on Most Significant Line Moves
by Aaron Smith - 9/19/2014
. This report will cover some of the most notable line moves from the week for both college football and NFL games. The goal of this report will be to not only look at what lines have moved, but also investigate possible reasons for that move. Let’s take a look at the games.
Weekly Football Betting Public Action Report
by Trevor Whenham - 9/19/2014
Last week was the first appearance of the Public Action Report, and it got off to a very good start. It identified Virginia’s upset of Louisville and nailed the stunning upset of USC by Boston College. Two upset moneyline winners in three games picked — that is why we love the Report. This week we have a more active NFL week, with three games from the pros and just one from college.

A. Adrian Peterson. According to the Minnesota Vikings, they finally “got it right” by suspending Peterson for this week’s game at New Orleans. Want to know who isn’t getting it right these days? Pretty much any NFL player or league official. The Vikings are +10.5 underdogs on Sunday at 5Dimes Sportsbook.

The start of a new football season opens up a number of opportunities for anyone who loves to wager on the games. Whether it is at the collegiate level or with the pros, the amount of action generated by the sportsbooks this time of year comes at you at a feverous pace. Therefore, it is important to develop an overall betting strategy that enhances the growth of your bankroll.
Weekly Q&A with Doc’s Sports Expert Handicapper Raphael Esparza
by Doc's Sports - 9/16/2014
Doc’s Sports: The latest AP Top 25 poll for college football is out, and seven of the first 15 teams on the new list reside in the SEC. While some experts insist that this is not the power conference it used to be, could you see two teams from the SEC making it into this season’s four-team playoff to determine a national champ?
Case of the Mondays: NFL Players Dropping Like Flies
by Ricky Dimon - 9/15/2014
Last week was unquestionably one of the worst in NFL history. Players were their own worst enemies, not necessarily sealing their own fates but at the very least altering the course of their careers—and even lives. It has also been a disastrous few days in Georgia, where the Hawks’ general manager took a leave of absence, the Bulldogs lost a thriller at South Carolina, the Falcons got blown out at Cincinnati, and the Braves got swept by—gasp!—Texas.
Weekly Football Betting Public Action Report
by Trevor Whenham - 9/12/2014
It is time, finally, for one of my favorite things each year — the Public Action Report. For several years now this report has been picking out games that fit a simple and unshifting criteria, and it has regularly been successful — both at picking winners against the spread and at isolating teams that could pull off big upsets as serious underdogs. The report isn’t always something to bet blindly, but it can be a very good way to guide and reinforce your betting decisions in a given week.
