The long and winding road that is the quest for the Stanley Cup begins next week with the Chicago Blackhawks favored to defend their title. A championship that will be decided much sooner is the Sprint Cup, with spots in the next round of the Chase at stake this weekend in Dover.

Case of the Mondays: Ravens, Saints Among Winless Teams After Week 3
by Ricky Dimon - 9/28/2015
Two teams engineered by Super Bowl-winning quarterbacks are winless through three weeks of the NFL season, as both Baltimore and New Orleans are 0-3. The Saints, however, were without signal-caller Drew Brees in their loss at Carolina on Sunday. Detroit and Chicago are also tied in the cellar, making it four squads still in search of a victory heading into Week 4.

A. American League East. The division got even more interesting when the Blue Jays could not score the winning run in the bottom of the ninth against the Yankees on Tuesday. New York ended up winning 6-3 in extras, thus closing the gap to 2.5 games instead of plunging to 4.5 back. Toronto (Stroman) is a -192 home favorite over the Yankees (Nova) on Wednesday, per BookMaker.
Sports Betting Futures Odds: Fournette Hot on Boykin's Heisman Trail
by Ricky Dimon - 9/23/2015
Rarely do any future odds fluctuate more wildly than those regarding the Heisman Trophy. So is there even any reason to discuss them? Well, yes. It makes things especially entertaining with contenders emerging and disappearing by the week. Speaking of contenders, all four teams in the NFC East appear capable of winning the division-but not necessarily because any of them are looking good.

Case of the Mondays: Romo, Viewers Still Reeling From Cowboys vs. Eagles
by Ricky Dimon - 9/21/2015
Sunday afternoon's game between the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles was already bad enough even without any serious injuries. Then Tony Romo went down with a broken left clavicle. Head coach Jason Garrett must have a lot on his mind these days, what with Dez Bryant already out for a substantial chunk of time because of a foot problem. But at least Garrett got a win this past weekend. The same cannot be said of Rex Ryan and Nick Saban.
Sports Betting Futures Odds: Favorites Faring Well on College Gridiron
by Ricky Dimon - 9/16/2015
The Ohio State Buckeyes have done nothing to diminish their status as heavy title favorites through two games of the college football season. Of the top contenders, only the Oregon Ducks have suffered a loss-but even they looked good in a close one at the Michigan State Spartans. Hot on Ohio State's trail (sort of), are the TCU Horned Frogs and Alabama Crimson Tide.

A. Amaro Jr., Ruben. The Phillies' general manager was given a long-overdue pink slip last week. As pathetic as Philadelphia is, it may not finish it dead-ass last. The team is just a half-game behind Atlanta in the National League East-and the overall MLB standings. Philly (Buchanan) is a +217 home underdog against Washington (Strasburg) on Tuesday, per BetOnline Sportsbook.

Case of the Mondays: Tennessee Collapses, More Injuries for Notre Dame
by Ricky Dimon - 9/14/2015
The Tennessee Titans are off to a flying start, and the state's most notable college team seemed to be on its way to beginning the season 2-0. Instead, the Tennessee Volunteers blew a 17-point home lead and lost to the Oklahoma Sooners. Elsewhere on the NCAA gridiron, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish still have their zero in the loss column intact. But they no longer have either their starting quarterback or starting running back.

A. ATP. The ATP Tour became, at least temporarily, the greatest reality show in sports when Nick Kyrgios told his opponent-Stan Wawrinka-that a fellow player (Thanasi Kokkinakis) banged his girlfriend (Donna Vekic). Two weeks after the incident, the ATP ruled on the matter and suspended Kyrgios for 28 days…but only if he acts up again before February of next year. In other words, he's not suspended-and a lot of people are unhappy.
