by Victor Ryan - 11/19/2015
The college football slate this week features a couple of interesting matchups involving teams riding hot and cold steaks against the spread, while in the NBA the New Jersey Nets have flipped the script entirely by making the hot list after previously being one of the coldest bets in the Association. Meanwhile in the NFL, two teams with sub-.500 straight up records are featured after earning three straight ATS victories.

When it comes to generating a long-term profit betting on sports, it always helps to have an inside edge for as many of the bets you place as possible. Betting odds by nature are designed to favor the sportsbook, so you have to always be on the lookout for opportunities where you can try and tip the scales in your favor. Even the top handicappers in the county sometimes have trouble beating the books, so it takes the right kind of discipline on your part to pick and choose the best betting options along the way.

This upcoming weekend will be busy with college football, a Ronda Rousey fight and a Sunday of packed with basketball and NFL football. And since we all love a bit of gambling (I am assume you do, since you are reading this),
This Week in Sports Betting, A-Z
by Ricky Dimon - 11/12/2015
A. Arkansas. What in the name of Michigan State, Georgia Tech, and Miami was going out there last Saturday night Oxford? Twice Ole Miss had the game won-first when it appeared to make a tackle on 4th-and-25 in overtime and then when it appeared to sack Arkansas' QB Brandon Allen on a two-point conversion. But the Razorbacks converted their fourth down with a miracle, over-the-head lateral, eventually scored a touchdown, and then scored the game-winning two-point try following an initial face-masking call. BookMaker has Arkansas as a +7 underdog at LSU this week.

Sports betting continues to grow in popularity each and every year, but only a small percentage of general betting public actually earns a positive long-term return on their investment. Betting odds by nature are designed to favor the sportsbook, so you have to always be on the lookout for opportunities where you can uncover an edge that tips the scales in your favor. Beating the books on a consistent basis is a tall task that takes the discipline to pick and choose your spots along the way.
Sports Betting Futures Odds: Patriots Heavily Favored to be NFL's Last Undefeated Team
by Ricky Dimon - 11/11/2015
And then there were three: with Denver's loss at Indianapolis in Week 9, only the Patriots, Panthers, and Bengals remain undefeated in the NFL. New England is obviously a huge favorite to be the last one standing, but the real question is can it go undefeated? Speaking of undefeated, Kentucky came close to doing it in hoops last season, and the Wildcats once again top the list to win it all.

Terrible Tuesday: Steelers Once Again Without Roethlisberger
by Ricky Dimon - 11/10/2015
Steelers' quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is on the shelf again after sustaining a foot injury in a Week 9 win over Oakland. It was not a great week for a handful of veteran quarterbacks as Peyton Manning's Broncos suffered their first loss of the season, Drew Brees and New Orleans fell at home to Tennessee, Matt Ryan and Atlanta got beat by Blaine Gabbert-led San Francisco, and Philip Rivers' Chargers lost at home to Chicago on Monday night.

A. Achilles'. It was black Sunday in the NFL in Week 8. Of all the injuries, Steve Smith's had to be the toughest to watch-even though it may not have looked the worst. The 36-year-old tore an Achilles' tendon and is out for the year. That means he could be out for his career, too. Plans could change, though, because a season-ending injury and a 2-6 record for Baltimore could not have been what he expected.

Case of the Mondays: Mets Not So Amazin' in World Series Loss
by Ricky Dimon - 11/2/2015
The New York Mets looked like world-beaters in sweeping the Chicago Cubs to win the NL Pennant, but they could not get out of their own way in the World Series. As we speak right now, the Mets should at the very least be going back to Kansas City, if not with a 3-2 lead then trailing 3-2. Or they could have won it all in five games. But a flurry of late-game collapses sealed New York's fate, and the Royals are world champions.
Weekly Football Betting Public Action Report
by Trevor Whenham - 10/30/2015
The very strong start for the Public Action Report continued last week. Our selected team covered all four spreads, and the Raiders were big outright winners as four-point underdogs. It has been a wildly-profitable year so far through three weeks - 9-3 ATS - and we'll hope for that streak to continue with this collection of four games. To be honest, though, this is the least inspiring group of games - especially on the college side - that we have seen so far this season. The games don't have to be interesting or fun to watch, though - they just have to be profitable.

A. Al Golden. At this rate, any college football team that is not changing head coaches in the middle of the season is doing pretty well. Miami, however, is not doing well-at least not after suffering the worst lost in program history, a 58-0 drubbing by visiting Clemson last weekend. One day later, Golden was fired.

The 2015-16 NBA campaign got underway on Tuesday, which means it is not a moment too soon to start thinking about end-of-season awards. Armed with championship experience and loaded rosters, Gregg Popovich and Steve Kerr are co-favorites to win Coach of the Year honors. With the NBA's tipoff, all four major sports are in action right now-as are some others like horse racing and poker.
