Sports Betting Futures Odds: Wild-Card Thrillers Give Way to Final Eight in MLB Playoffs
by Ricky Dimon - 10/6/2016
Toronto won the American League wild-card game on a three-run walk-off homer by Edwin Encarnacion that sent Baltimore packing with a 5-2 loss. One day later, San Francisco prevailed on the road when Conor Gillaspie hit a three-run blast in the top of the ninth inning to beat the Mets 3-0 and make a winner out of Madison Bumgarner. Will the Blue Jays and Giants parlay their momentum into additional success? We won't have to wait long to find out.

by Doc's Sports - 10/4/2016
The month of October signals the start of this year's quest to win the 2016 World Series for 10 MLB teams starting with Tuesday and Wednesday's 'winner-take-all' wild-card games. In this week's discussion with Doc's Sports expert handicapper Raphael Esparza, we will get his thoughts on which two teams he likes to advance to the divisional series round.
Case of the Mondays: Back-to-Back Miracle Plays Send Georgia to Loss
by Ricky Dimon - 10/3/2016
Georgia was all but dead and buried in the final minute of last weekend's crucial SEC showdown against Tennessee in Athens, Ga. Then from just about out of nowhere the Bulldogs had it won. Then, suddenly, they really lost. In a last-second, back-and-forth thriller that will not soon be forgotten, the Volunteers pulled out a wild 34-31 victory to take complete control of the SEC East.
Football Betting Weekly Public Action Report: Sharps vs. Squares
by Trevor Whenham - 9/30/2016
We are back with another edition of the Public Action Report. It hasn't been a blazing start so far - only one week has offered games that fit the criteria, and the games went 1-1 ATS that week. It's hard to tell why the Report, usually so reliable in terms of volume of games, is so slow this year. What matters, though, is not what has happened, but what will happen. We have three very interesting games to look at this week, and the action is pretty clear in each of them. All three come from the glorious world of college football - the NFL has yet to offer a game that fits the criteria this year.

B. Bosh, Chris. Bosh's career with the Miami Heat is over, and his playing days in the NBA appear to be in serious jeopardy. The 32-year-old, who has dealt with serious blood clots the last few seasons, failed a physical with the team earlier this month.
Sports Betting Futures Odds: Golf Season Concludes With Ryder Cup
by Ricky Dimon - 9/28/2016
The Tour Championship may have come and gone, but the 2016 golf season is not yet over; far from it. This weekend, which is also a big one in college football and the NFL, will be highlighted by the Ryder Cup at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minn. What will Rory McIlory do for an encore following his heroics in Atlanta? Will Dustin Johnson be able to bounce back and help the United States pick up a rare win?
Weekly Q&A with Doc's Sports Expert Handicapper Raphael Esparza
by Doc's Sports - 9/27/2016
While Ohio State and Michigan are getting most of the attention in the Big Ten this season as two of the top teams in the nation, Wisconsin finds itself in excellent position to join these lofty ranks after hammering Michigan State 30-6 last week as a 3.5-point road underdog. This Saturday the Badgers are listed as 10.5-point underdogs on the road against the Wolverines, and we will get Doc's Sports expert handicapper Raphael Esparza's thoughts on Wisconsin's chances to pull off another huge upset.
Case of the Mondays: LSU, Notre Dame See Combined Loss Total Hit Five
by Ricky Dimon - 9/26/2016
When the two programs are at their peak, multiple losses in a single season equal automatic disappointment for LSU and Notre Dame. It's not even October, and each team has already stumbled to such an ignominious fate in 2016. In fact, the Fighting Irish were already saddled with two losses even before this past weekend's festivities took place. They plunged to a new low by falling to Duke, while LSU thought it had avoided a second loss when the clock ran out on its game at Auburn-but it had to think again.
This Week in Sports Betting, A-Z

A. Adrian Peterson. Will the Vikings be able to field a team by the time the second half of the season rolls around? Okay, in all seriousness, they are not in good shape right now. And that's an understatement. Teddy Bridgewater was lost for the year with a torn ACL in practice prior to Week 1. Adrian Peterson suffered a torn meniscus and LCL in Week 2 and is basically out for the season. Offensive tackle Matt Kalil has been placed on injured reserve. Ouch. Minnesota is a +7 underdog at Carolina on Sunday, per Bovada Sportsbook.
Sports Betting Futures Odds: Defending Champions Currently Atop Wild AFC West
by Ricky Dimon - 9/21/2016
Two weeks do not an NFL season make, and that is certainly the case in a crowded AFC West. No team is 0-2; only the Denver Broncos are 2-0. But even with football heating up and baseball barreling toward October, don't forget about the non-major sports. The playoffs are just getting underway in NASCAR, while they are coming to an end this week in golf at the Tour Championship in Atlanta.
Weekly Q&A with Doc's Sports Expert Handicapper Raphael Esparza
by Doc's Sports - 9/20/2016
The underdogs are off to fast start in the NFL with an early winning percentage against the spread of almost 60 percent through the first two weeks of the regular season. In this week's discussion with Doc's Sports expert handicapper Raphael Esparza, we will get his take on whether or not sports bettors should keep riding this trend into Week 3.
Case of the Mondays: Florida State Clobbered by Cardinals in ACC Opener
by Ricky Dimon - 9/19/2016
The Florida State Seminoles' 2016 ACC schedule did not start well. It will have to end well if they want to have any chance of getting back into the College Football Playoff discussion. The Seminoles went on the road last Saturday to face the Louisville Cardinals and promptly got crushed 63-20. It was also a tough weekend for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish-and, more specifically, for their defense.
Football Betting Weekly Public Action Report: Sharps vs. Squares
by Trevor Whenham - 9/16/2016
It's time for another season of my favorite series of articles of the year - the Public Action Report. This is when we let the line movement pick out our bets for us. We don't do any thinking or interpreting here. We just apply a specific criteria, and see what games fit the bill.
Sports Betting Futures Odds: Cubs Clinch Division as Baseball Enters Home Stretch
by Ricky Dimon - 9/16/2016
These next two months are a positively wonderful time of the year. Football is in full swing, baseball is nearing the home stretch, and proverbial playoffs are taking center stage on the golf course and on the NASCAR track. Is this finally the Chicago Cubs' year? Is Tiger Woods actually coming back? Will the college football season be owned by Christian McCaffrey or Deshaun Watson? Answers are coming.
Weekly Q&A with Doc's Sports Expert Handicapper Raphael Esparza
by Doc's Sports - 9/13/2016
The new season of football in both the college ranks and the NFL has already featured some stunning upsets at both levels of play. In this week's discussion with Doc's Sports expert handicapper Raphael Esparza, we will get the inside scoop on who got the best of things this past week in the NFL; the betting public or the books.
Case of the Mondays: Tough Start to Season for Cowboys, Ryan's Bills
by Ricky Dimon - 9/12/2016
It will be February of 2017 before every team in the NFL is undefeated again. More than half of the league is still unblemished as of this Monday, but the loss column for more than a few unfortunate squads took a hit in Week 1. The Dallas Cowboys lost an NFC East divisional game at home, while the Buffalo Bills scored the fewest points of all the teams that suited up on Sunday.
Thank God it's Friday: Blue Jays Lose AL East lead, Cardinals Falling in NL
by Ricky Dimon - 9/9/2016
Football is finally underway, what with the first week of college football having come and gone in addition to the NFL season opener that produced a thriller between the Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos on Thursday night. But baseball cannot be forgotten, because pennant races are heating up with less than one month remaining. There is still time for the Toronto Blue Jays and St. Louis Cardinals to turn things around, but they need to get going sooner rather than later.
Sports Betting Futures Odds: Are You Ready for Some Football?
by Ricky Dimon - 9/8/2016
It's here. The 2016 NFL season begins on Thursday night with a rematch of Super Bowl 50 between the Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos. Although Denver triumphed last season, it is Carolina that is one of the favorites to win at all this time around while also boasting one of the favorites to reign-again-as NFL MVP.
