Sports Betting Futures Odds: Who is the Class of the NFC?
by Ricky Dimon - 9/20/2017
The Falcons have recovered, for now, from their Super Bowl meltdown to go 2-0 through two games. But they almost lost to lowly Chicago. Both Green Bay (got blown out last week by Atlanta) and Seattle (lost handily against Green Bay) have issues, although they are also NFC co-favorites. Dallas got manhandled by the Broncos in Week 2. So who is the class of the NFC?

Case of the Mondays: Elliott Still Not Suspended, But He Might as Well Have Been
by Ricky Dimon - 9/18/2017
It's looking like a Tom Brady situation could be in the cards for Ezekiel Elliott, and not in the department of winning MVP awards or Super Bowls. Elliott's pending suspension may end up rolling over to the following season, just as Brady's did from 2015 to 2016. Even though the Cowboys' running back was on the field for Week 2, it hardly mattered because his team got clobbered at Denver 42-17.

E. Ezekiel Elliott. We haven't seen this much on-again, off-again since whatever Taylor Swift's last relationship was. Elliott was suspended. Then he wasn't. Then he sort of was. Then he sort of wasn't. Or maybe he was. And maybe he wasn't. Whatever the case, the Cowboys' running back played in Week 1 and is expected to do the same on Sunday while his suspension is pending an appeal.

Sports Betting Futures Odds: Mayfield Making an Early Case for Heisman Trophy
by Ricky Dimon - 9/12/2017
Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield drove a stake-or an OU flag, to be exact-into Ohio State's field after his team beat the Buckeyes last season. He is also staking a claim to the Heisman Trophy, although Lamar Jackson remains the favorite. On the NFL gridiron, meanwhile, the AFC South once again looks like a jumbled mess.
Case of the Mondays: Other than Jags, AFC South Reeling after Week 1
by Ricky Dimon - 9/11/2017
The AFC South had to win a game on Sunday, because the Jaguars and Texans played each other. One was all it got. In addition to that laugher (Jacksonville dominated Houston 29-7), the Colts got humiliated 47-9 by the Rams and the Titans lost at home 26-16 to the Raiders. On the college gridiron, it has been a tough start to the season for Ohio State and Florida State-among others.

A. Alohi Gilman. You can say "aloha" to Alohi. Gilman, a transfer from Navy to Notre Dame, was denied a final appeal for immediate eligibility by the NCAA on Tuesday. A freshman starter at defensive tackle for the Midshipman last season who made 76 tackles, Gilman can play for the Fighting Irish starting in 2018. Notre Dame is a -4 home favorite over Georgia on Saturday, per MyBookie.ag.

It begins on Thursday night, with New England hosting Kansas City, and continues with a full slate of action on Sunday and Monday-aside from the postponed Miami vs. Tampa Bay game (due to Hurricane Irma). A. Astros. Houston is playing home games as Tropicana Field in Tampa Bay. Due to Hurricane Harvey, the Astros had to move their series with Texas, and to say things did not go well on Tuesday would be an understatement. The "visitors" destroyed Houston 12-2.

Case of the Mondays: Osweiler Loses Cleveland's Starting Job to Kizer
by Ricky Dimon - 8/28/2017
Brock Osweiler won't be starting at quarterback for the Browns-at least not in Week 1. Spencer Ware won't be running the football for the Chiefs-not at all this season. The perils of the preseason are hitting people hard right now, either via the loss of jobs or injuries that are always inevitable. Meanwhile, the Red Sox have been unable to pull away from their division rivals, and the FedEx Cup Playoffs got off to a rough start for Jordan Spieth.

A. Aroldis Chapman. Chapman was removed as the Yankees' closer after giving up two runs in each of three consecutive appearances. Hey, he also allowed two runs in Game 7 of last year's World Series, and that worked out pretty well for him! BetOnline Sportsbook has New York at +650 to win the AL Pennant.
Sports Betting Futures Odds: Cleveland Still Favored in East Following Blockbuster Deal
by Ricky Dimon - 8/23/2017
Former Cavaliers' guard Kyrie Irving is heading to Boston of all places. Thus adds another layer to what was already the best and certainly most important rivalry in the Eastern Conference. But before basketball begins, there are plenty of other newsworthy items on the sports menu. Football season is right around the corner, and on the golf course the FedEx Cup Playoffs are ready to begin.

Case of the Mondays: Rays, Yankees Watching Boston Pull Away in AL East
by Ricky Dimon - 8/21/2017
The Boston Red Sox have extended their advantage to five games in the American League East ahead of the second-place New York Yankees and the third-place Tampa Bay Rays. New York has watched Aaron Judge strike out at a record pace and Aroldis Chapman struggle as closer. The Yankees have still managed to win a decent number of games, which is more than Tampa Bay can say. Meanwhile, if the Seattle Seahawks win a decent number of games during the upcoming NFL season, they will do so without their starting left tackle.

A. Arizona Diamondbacks. 67-54 would be good enough to lead two divisions in baseball. In the NL West, it's good enough to be 19 games back of the ridiculously amazing Dodgers. L.A. is 85-34 and 50-9 in its last 59. The Dodgers are +220 favorites at GT Bets to win the World Series.
Thank God it's Friday: Judge Piling Up Strikeouts, Yankees Not Making a Move
by Ricky Dimon - 8/18/2017
Aaron Judge is still bashing home runs, but he is also striking out at an alarming rate. The Yankees are still winning their fair share of games, but they are struggling to gain ground on Boston in the American League East. Arizona's playoff push is also taking a hit as the Dodgers are blowing everyone away in the National League West. Football season, meanwhile, is right around the corner. When it begins, Florida will be undermanned.
Sports Betting Futures Odds: Here Comes Football Season
by Ricky Dimon - 8/17/2017
With October baseball still many weeks away and golf's final major now a thing of the past, football season is soon to take center stage. It gets going in earnest with a big Labor Day Weekend featuring Alabama vs. Florida State and Michigan vs. Florida. NFL action won't be far behind.
