A. Astros. An eighth consecutive World Series is coming and going without the Yankees-their longest such drought since ending a streak of 13 straight misses with a title in 1996. Houston took down New York in seven games and now finds itself locked with Los Angeles at 1-1 in what has certainly been an entertaining Fall Classic. Houston (McCullers) is a -140 home favorite over Los Angeles (Darvish) on Friday, per MyBookie.ag.
Sports Betting Futures Odds: Barkley Has Company in Heisman Race
by Ricky Dimon - 10/25/2017
Saquon Barkley keeps racking up yards and touchdowns while Penn State keeps winning. But the star running back has company in the Heisman Trophy race because Bryce Love and Baker Mayfield are also putting up big numbers. Speaking of company, nobody is favored against the rest of the field in a crowded NFC South.

by Doc's Sports - 10/24/2017
This year's highly-anticipated matchup between the Houston Astros and the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2017 MLB Fall Classic kicks off a great week of sports betting that also includes a huge college football showdown in the Big Ten this Saturday followed by a full slate of NFL action in Week 8 of the season. We will take a look at all of these betting opportunities in closer detail in this week's discussion with Doc's Sports expert handicapper Raphael Esparza.
Case of the Mondays: Falcons Lay Egg in Super Bowl Rematch
by Ricky Dimon - 10/23/2017
The Falcons, of course, would have to do far more than beat New England in one regular-season game to fully avenge last season's Super Bowl collapse. Perhaps they understand that and thus are waiting for a grander stage on which to show their true selves. Whatever the case, Atlanta failed to show up for Sunday night's rematch and once again went down to the Patriots. Elsewhere on the gridiron this past weekend, the Browns continued on their way with zero wins and the Kansas Jayhawks scored zero points.

A. Aaron Rodgers. It took the NBA season all of five minutes to produce one too many bad injuries. Not surprisingly, there have been far more bad injuries in the NFL through six weeks. None is bigger than what happened to Rodgers last Sunday, when he suffered a broken collarbone in the first quarter of Green Bay's 23-10 loss at Minnesota. Rodgers requires surgery and will likely miss the entire season. The Packers are +6 home underdogs against New Orleans in Week 7, per GT Bets.
Weekly Q&A with Doc's Sports Expert Handicapper Raphael Esparza
by Doc's Sports - 10/17/2017
A pair of major upsets in college football this past weekend has radically altered the landscape for this year's four-team College Football Playoff. In this week's discussion with Doc's Sports expert handicapper Raphael Esparza, we will get his take on which four teams have the best shot at filling the field. We will also get his thoughts on his beloved Cubs' chances to crawl out a 0-2 hole in their best-of-seven NLCS matchup against the Los Angeles Dodgers to make a return trip to this year's MLB World Series.
Case of the Mondays: Packers Lose, Rodgers Breaks Collarbone
by Ricky Dimon - 10/16/2017
What is going on in the NFC? The Cowboys are 2-3 and may be without Ezekiel Elliott for six games, the Falcons aren't waiting until the Super Bowl to collapse this season, and now the Packers have lost quarterback Aaron Rodgers. In a loss to Minnesota on Sunday, Rodgers suffered a broken right collarbone and could miss the rest of the year. It was a similarly bad weekend for Clemson, which fell to Syracuse after seeing its starting QB go down.
Sports Betting Futures Odds: And Then There Were Four
by Ricky Dimon - 10/13/2017
Last year's Major League Baseball Playoffs-or at least the World Series-were positively bananas. It looks like the 2017 version is doing its best to produce a memorable encore. The Dodgers and Astros cruised through the first round, but the Yankees staged a stunning comeback to oust Cleveland and the Cubs survived a thriller against Washington.

A. Adams, Davante. What a difference a week makes. In the Packers' win over Chicago, Adams made his way onto basically everyone's prayer list when he seemingly got his head knocked off by Danny Trevathan. Ten days later, Adams made seven catches for 66 yards and two touchdowns-including the game-winner-in a 35-31 victory at Dallas.Green Bay is a -300 favorite at Bovada Sportsbook to win the NFC North.

Two best-of-five division series remain in play in the opening round of this year's MLB postseason, and in our weekly discussion with Doc's Sports expert handicapper Raphael Esparza, we will get his take on how he sees each one panning out over the next few days.
Case of the Mondays: From Bad to Worse for the New York Giants
by Ricky Dimon - 10/9/2017
The New York Giants' season might as well have already been over, as they were 0-4 heading into Sunday's date with the Los Angeles Chargers. Unfortunately for Odell Beckham Jr., his team kept playing. Beckham got hurt (again) and the Giants lost (again). As for the Pittsburgh Steelers, on the other hand, they were alive and well going into Week 5. But a surprising loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars has Ben Roethlisberger and company reeling.
Sports Betting Futures Odds: It's Playoff Time in Baseball as NHL Season Arrives
by Ricky Dimon - 10/5/2017
October is here, and that means baseball. Yes, the playoffs got underway on Tuesday with the Yankees' 8-4 victory over visiting Minnesota in the American League wild-card game. But October also means hockey, football, and basketball. The NHL season began on Wednesday, the NBA is not far behind, and action continues to heat up on the college and NFL gridiron.

A. Adam Silver. In an effort to dissuade tanking (good luck with that!), the NBA commissioner and other higher-ups have approved a reform to the NBA Draft lottery. At present, the team with the worst record has a 25 percent chance of winning it, followed by 19.9 percent and 15.6 percent for the next worst. Starting in 2019, the three most inept clubs will all have a 14 percent shot at landing the No. 1 pick.

Case of the Mondays: Carr's a Wreck After Being Plagued by Back Problems in Oakland Loss
by Ricky Dimon - 10/2/2017
Oakland Raiders' quarterback Derek Carr exited Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos late in the third quarter due to back spasms and did not return. Adding insult to injury, the Raiders lost. It was also a rough weekend for the Dallas Cowboys, who fell at home to Todd Gurley and the Los Angeles Rams. Meanwhile, 20 different teams can begin making their offseason tee times as the Major League Baseball playoffs begin without them.

A. Ausmas, Brad. Ausmas is out as manager of the Tigers, and not a moment too soon. Detroit reached the playoffs during Ausmas' first season at the helm in 2014, but the club has not made it since and certainly isn't going to this year as the worst team in the American League at 62-95.
Weekly Q&A with Doc's Sports Expert Handicapper Raphael Esparza

Sports Betting Futures Odds: Big Three in Oklahoma City Following Carmelo Trade
by Ricky Dimon - 9/26/2017
The Thunder now have their own big three. Both Paul George and Carmelo Anthony have joined Russell Westbrook in Oklahoma City, so who will run the show in 2017-18? It's an all-around a big week in sports, with the NBA making news, the baseball regular seasons down to its final days, NFL action heating up on and off the field, and the Presidents Cup taking place on the links.
Case of the Mondays: Defeat Snatched From Jaws of Victory for Lions
by Ricky Dimon - 9/25/2017
In an absolutely wild slate of 1:00 NFL games on Sunday, none ended in more bizarre fashion than the Falcons-Lions showdown. In the span of zero plays taking place, Detroit went from thinking it had the game won to confirmed losing. As for the Ravens, they wish their game against Jacksonville in London had never taken place. It was also a rough weekend on the gridiron for Florida State and Oklahoma State.

A. Apology. Wil Muschamp said on Sunday that his team will always shake hands and act with sportsmanship. Well, it's too late for that. A day earlier, South Carolina's captains declined to shake hands with Kentucky prior to their in-state rivalry matchup. The Wildcats had the last laugh, winning their fourth straight over the Gamecocks 23-13.
