A. Alex Ovechkin. Ovechkin finished as the NHL's leading goal-scorer in 2017-18 after scoring twice in the Capitals' 5-3 victory over New Jersey last Saturday. The 32-year-old, who lit the lamp on 49 occasions during the regular season (five more than Winnipeg's Patrick Laine), has now led the league in scoring seven times. Washington is a -135 home favorite over Columbus on Thursday, per BetOnline Sportsbook.

Case of the Mondays: McIlroy Must Wait to Complete Career Grand Slam
by Ricky Dimon - 4/9/2018
Rory McIlroy contended at the Masters-again-and came up short-again. Thus, it remains the lone missing major on his mantle of titles. And now golf will remain on the backburner until it heats up again this summer with the U.S. Open, British Open, and PGA Championship. In the meantime, baseball season is well underway, and playoffs in both the NBA and NHL are on the immediate horizon…well, not if you're the St. Louis Blues.

A. Anthony Davis. The 'brow is not gone. In an April Fools prank that perhaps threw people for a loop because it began on March 31, Davis posted a video in which he appeared to shave his unibrow. On April 1, however, the Pelicans' star center revealed it was all just one big joke. Admit it; you fell for it. Speaking of falling, New Orleans has lost four in a row and is clinging to a Western Conference playoff spot by just a half-game. The Pelicans are -13 home favorites over Memphis on Wednesday, per BetOnline Sportsbook.
Sports Betting Futures Odds: Masters Week is Here
by Ricky Dimon - 4/3/2018
College basketball is gone-for now-but not forgotten. Thus, center stage is open for golf to fill the void, and it will do just that with the Masters this week. And what a Masters it could be, as Tiger Woods is not only back on tour but also playing well, and other big names like Jordan Spieth, Rory McIlroy, and Phil Mickelson are also in fine form. Who will be wearing that green coat on Sunday afternoon?
Case of the Mondays: Kansas Crashes Out in Blowout Fashion
by Ricky Dimon - 4/2/2018
The clock finally struck midnight on Loyola-Chicago. But while the Ramblers were at least competitive almost the entire way in their Final Four outing, Kansas never came close to booking a spot in Monday's National Championship. A busy week in sports begins with Michigan vs. Villanova, and it will conclude with what is perhaps the most highly anticipated Masters ever.

A. Aaron Donald. The Texans have J.J. Watt and Jadeveon Clowney on the ends. The Rams now have Donald and Ndamukong Suh in the middle of their defensive line. Los Angeles signed Suh to a one-year, $14 million contract earlier this week. Scary stuff in L.A….
Thank God It's Friday: Duke, Kentucky Among Those Watching Final Four on TV
by Ricky Dimon - 3/30/2018
The Final Four will take center stage this weekend, and a pair of traditional powerhouses in Villanova and Kansas will be part of the festivities. Duke, Kentucky, Michigan State, Virginia, just to name a few? Not so much. All in all it is a fun time of year in the sports world, with baseball season underway and both the NBA and NHL heading down the home stretch toward the playoffs.
Weekly Q&A with Doc's Sports Expert Handicapper Raphael Esparza
by Doc's Sports - 3/27/2018
The 2018 men's college basketball NCAA Tournament is down to Saturday's Final Four followed by next Monday's national title game in San Antonio. The top two seeds on the right side of the bracket successfully navigated their way through their respective regions for a head-to-head showdown in one semifinal matchup, but there is strong No. 3 seed taking on a surprising No. 11 seed on the left side of the page.
Sports Betting Futures Odds: And Then There Were Four
by Ricky Dimon - 3/27/2018
Villanova. Kansas. Michigan. Loyola-Chicago. That is your 2018 Final Four, resulting from an absolutely wild South Region and-by comparison-relatively straightforward scenes in the West, Midwest, and East. This is one of the best times in sports, and not just because of college basketball. Baseball season will get underway this week, and the Masters is little more than one week away.
Weekly Q&A with Doc's Sports Expert Handicapper Raphael Esparza
by Doc's Sports - 3/20/2018
Each of the four regions in this year's NCAA Tournament have been pared down to four teams after the opening two rounds of play. However, it's still anyone's guess as to which ones will win their next two games to move on to the Final Four. In this week's discussion with Doc's Sports expert handicapper Raphael Esparza, we will get his thoughts as to where the best value lies in the updated NCAAB futures odds to win each region in the 2018 NCAA Tournament.
Case of the Mondays: Virginia on the Wrong Side of History
by Ricky Dimon - 3/19/2018
Virginia was looking to make history in the form a first-ever National Championship in men's basketball. Instead, it made history by becoming the first No. 1 seed in an NCAA Tournament to lose to a No. 16 seed. Fellow ACC representative Miami (FL) and SEC runner-up Tennessee were also among the group of early upset victims. But March is not entirely reserved for the madness, as the NBA nears its home stretch of the regular season, baseball approaches, and golf heats up with Tigers Woods' comeback.

by Doc's Sports - 3/13/2018

A. Arizona. Only a 16-seed beating a 1-seed would be a bigger upset in college basketball this season than Sean Miller coaching again for Arizona. But, against all odds, Miller did-and will continue to do so. ESPN's report of the FBI's alleged wiretaps that would convict Miller of discussing payments for star freshman DeAndre Ayton have so far proved to be erroneous. The Wildcats are +160 favorites at BookMaker to win the Pac-12 Tournament.

by Doc's Sports - 3/6/2018

Sports Betting Futures Odds: Match Madness Has Arrived
by Ricky Dimon - 3/6/2018
The Big Dance is a little more than a week away, so right now conference tournaments have center stage. Somewhat inexplicably, the Big Ten festivities have already come and gone. But among those soon to tip off their events are the Big 12 and SEC. Also don't forget about football as the NFL combine has people buzzing about this spring's draft.
Case of the Mondays: Purdue's Swoon Continues with Big Ten Final Loss
by Ricky Dimon - 3/5/2018
March Madness is here, with several conference tournaments-including the Big Ten-already in the books. Purdue is obviously going dancing, but it will get an at-large bid as opposed to an automatic berth after losing in the Big Ten Tournament final to Michigan. Meanwhile, golf continues to provide plenty of thrills with the Masters just one month away, and baseball season is right around the corner.

A. Alshon Jeffery. Jeffery had 57 catches for 789 yards and nine touchdowns during the regular season and finished Super Bowl LII with three catches for 73 yards and the opening score in Philadelphia's 41-33 victory over New England-and apparently he did it all with a torn rotator cuff. The 28-year-old underwent surgery last Wednesday.
Sports Betting Futures Odds: Here Comes March
by Ricky Dimon - 2/27/2018
February has not been a good month for college basketball, what with the FBI investigation into rampant recruiting violations that has already outed Arizona head coach Sean Miller. March, however, is foolproof. The sport will soon take center stage, although this week it will compete with another big golf tournament and the Academy Awards.
Case of the Mondays: Cloud Cast Over College Basketball as March Madness Looms
by Ricky Dimon - 2/26/2018
March Madness is still a couple of weeks away, but college basketball chaos is already here. Unfortunately for Arizona and some other schools, it has come in the form of off-the-court controversy. Next month will also welcome the beginning of baseball season and the continuation of an intriguing stretch in golf, as Tiger Woods and the rest of the gang prepares for the Masters.
