A. Atlanta United. Atlanta can't seem to win anything in the four major sports, but is there anything its soccer team can't do? Led by goal-scoring machine Josef Martinez, Atlanta United erased a 3-1 deficit last week at San Jose with goals (two by Martinez) in the 70th minute, 73rd minute, and five minutes into stoppage time for a dramatic 4-3 victory. The club has won three in a row following this past Saturday's 2-0 shutout of Real Salt Lake and sits atop the Eastern Conference (and the entire league) with 63 points. Atlanta is a +300 favorite at Bovada Sportsbook to win the MLS Cup.

by Doc's Sports - 9/25/2018

One of the most diverse expert sports handicappers in the nation is Raphael Esparza, and he loves this time of year given everything the betting board has to offer. The former Vegas Sports Informer knows a thing or two about beating the books following a long and successful career in the Las Vegas sportsbook industry that culminated with a prestigious stint as the Director of the Race and Sports Book for MGM Resorts' Aria until his retirement in 2013.
Sports Betting Futures Odds: Some Wild Results in the NFC North
by Ricky Dimon - 9/25/2018
The Vikings lost at home to Buffalo and the Lions upset New England. In other words, the NFC North is not what we thought it was-at least not in Week 3. Meanwhile, football will have to share center stage in the sports world this weekend with golf. Following Tiger Woods' famous triumph at the TOUR Championship in Atlanta, the Ryder Cup is taking place across the pond in Paris.
Case of the Mondays: Vikings Victim of Biggest NFL Upset in 23 Years
by Ricky Dimon - 9/24/2018
Well, whoever was left in their NFL survivor pools is undoubtedly out now. The Vikings were the biggest favorite of the week, by far; in fact, their loss to Buffalo on Sunday was the worst in the last 23 years as a such a big favorite (-17). There were plenty of surprises on the college gridiron, too, as Virginia Tech went down to Old Dominion and TCU suffered a second consecutive setback.

A. A.J. Green. The Bengals are one of seven 2-0 teams, and they have the second-best point differential among those seven teams at +22 (trailing only the Rams' ridiculous +54 margin). Green deserves plenty of credit as he has four receiving touchdowns through two weeks-including three in last Thursday's 34-23 victory over Baltimore. YouWager.eu has Cincinnati as a +3 underdog at Carolina in Week 3.
Weekly Q&A with Doc's Sports Expert Handicapper Raphael Esparza
by Doc's Sports - 9/18/2018
It is football season and Doc's Sports is at its best this time of year when it comes to our winning percentage for the high-unit plays we release. Also at his best is Raphael Esparza as one of the top expert sports handicappers in the nation. He rose through the ranks during a long and successful career in the Las Vegas sportsbook industry that finally came to an end in 2013 with him holding the prestigious title of Director of the Race and Sports Book for MGM Resorts' Aria.
Sports Betting Futures Odds: Fitzpatrick Has Buccaneers atop NFC South
by Ricky Dimon - 9/18/2018
If odds have anything to say about it, you won't find an NFL division with more parity than the NFC South-not right now and probably not ever. The Buccaneers were once underdogs, but quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick has them off to a division-best 2-0 start. Meanwhile, the final tournament of the 2018 PGA Tour season is taking place this week in Atlanta.
Case of the Mondays: From Bad to Worse-and Inexplicable-for Bills
by Ricky Dimon - 9/17/2018
The Bills playing bad football is something everyone has seen before, but even they came up with a new one on Sunday. Cornerback Vontae Davis retired-like, completely retired from football-at halftime of his team's home loss to the Chargers. On the college gridiron, meanwhile, Arkansas also suffered its second setback of the season. The Hogs went down in flames at home to underdog North Texas.
Sports Betting Futures Odds: Tua Taking Control of Heisman Trophy Race
by Ricky Dimon - 9/13/2018
Perhaps no odds for anything else in any sport fluctuate as wildly as those for the Heisman Trophy. But if there is such a thing as taking control of the race, Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has done that in the early stages of the season. On the NFL gridiron, meanwhile, Jets rookie QB Sam Darnold is off to a hot start.

A. Adrian Peterson. Once a longtime member of the Vikings, Peterson now has about as many former teams as Derek Jeter has former girlfriends. Well, not exactly. Whatever the case, the new Redskins running back torched some of his old mates-the Cardinals-with 90 rushing yards and 70 receiving yards in Washington's 24-6 Week 1 victory.

Terrible Tuesdays: Peterman is Still Awful, Florida Flops Against Kentucky
by Ricky Dimon - 9/11/2018
Buffalo Bills quarterback Nathan Peterman threw a lot of interceptions in limited time last season. He threw a couple more in Week 1 of the 2018 campaign as Buffalo got blown out by the Baltimore Ravens 47-3. On the college gridiron, Florida suffered a dreadful home loss to Kentucky. Like Dan Mullen with the Gators, Scott Frost took an early 'L' in his tenure with Nebraska.

A. Acuna, Ronald. Acuna is so good that he's too good for his own good. The Braves' 20-year-old phenom had homered in five straight games and had hit leadoff homers in three straight before Marlins starter Jose Urena plunked him on the first at-bat of last Wednesday's game. That touched off a benches-clearing altercation, with Urena getting the boot. Acuna (.289, 19 HRs, 43 RBIs in 73 games) missed only the rest of that contest with a forearm issue before returning one day later.
Sports Betting Futures Odds: Are You Ready for Some Football?
by Ricky Dimon - 8/22/2018
It is a big time of year for the country club sports, as tennis' final major is coming up next week and golf's proverbial playoffs are getting underway on Thursday. But that won't overshadow the beginning of football season. College football action seriously heats up next week, but a sample of the wealth to come will whet fans' appetites on Saturday.

Case of the Mondays: Acuna Beaned, Braves Swept
by Ricky Dimon - 8/20/2018
The Atlanta Braves were not happy with the Miami Marlins, but they still wish they could play every game against their National League East rivals. After all, Miami is last in the division and the second-worst team in the National League. The Braves swept the Marlins clean out of Atlanta but then promptly got swept in four games by the Colorado Rockies. While the Braves are in a serious division race, the New York Yankees are playing for second in the American League East and may be doing so without Didi Gregorius for a while.

A. ACL. The Redskins are bad at things that are in their control, and they are bad at things that aren't in their control. They suffered another injury hit when rookie running back and second-round draft pick Derrius Guice suffered a torn ACL in their first preseason game last Thursday against New England. The former LSU star will obviously miss the entire season.
