Doc’s Sports: The biggest matchup of Week 7 in the NFL has the undefeated Broncos on the road against 4-2 Indianapolis, which is coming off a tough loss to San Diego this past Monday night. Is this the week that Denver’s winning streak comes to an end?
Case of the Mondays: Dodgers Down 2-0, Tigers Not Up 2-0
by Ricky Dimon - 10/14/2013
What a difference a week makes. Seven days ago, Juan Uribe of the Dodgers was bashing Atlanta out of the playoffs. Now, L.A. can’t hit a ball and is two games away from elimination. Two games from the World Series is not what the Tigers are, but they very well could be. Instead, the ALCS is alive and well.
Weekly Football Betting Public Action Report
by Trevor Whenham - 10/11/2013
It has been three very good weeks for the Public Action Report. After going 2-1 ATS for two weeks in a row, we had quite probably the best week in the entire history of the Report last week. We wound up 6-1 ATS, and moneyline players had four underdog winners capped by South Florida beating Cincinnati as 11.5-point dogs. In other words, you were going to make money last week no matter what you did. In the last three weeks it all adds up to 10-3 ATS. Let’s keep it rolling with this six-game card this week.

A. Atlanta. Days in sports don’t get much more disastrous than that. On Monday night, the Falcons lost on a last-second field goal to the New York Jets, fell to 1-4 and four games behind New Orleans in the NFC South, and they saw star receiver Julio Jones go down with a season-ending injury. One hour later, the Braves were six outs from a Game 5 at home but failed to maintain a 3-2 lead and watched their season come to a close in a 4-3 heartbreaker against the Dodgers.
Doc’s Sports Fourth Down and Inches

We are six weeks into the 2013 college football season, and there are numerous undefeated teams from all parts of the country at the top of the current rankings. Many people believe that there will be more than two teams unbeaten this season, and I happen to be one of them. This could create a disastrous scenario for the BCS, but thankfully this will be the last season before the NCAA implements its new four-team playoff to decide a National Champion.

Doc’s Sports: There is a pair of big conference showdowns on this Saturday’s college football slate with No. 17 Florida at No. 10 LSU in the SEC followed by No. 2 Oregon on the road against No. 16 Washington in an important Pac-12 clash. What is your take on both of these matchups?
Back to the Futures: Saints Go Marching to Top of NFC
by Ricky Dimon - 10/7/2013
After five weeks of the NFL season, the New Orleans Saints are one of three undefeated teams and the only one outside of the AFC West (Denver, Kansas City). Thanks to Seattle’s loss at Indianapolis, the Saints have the early inside track for home-field advantage throughout the conference playoffs, and they are suddenly favored to reach the Super Bowl.
Weekly Football Betting Public Action Report
by Trevor Whenham - 10/4/2013
It was a very good week again for the Public Action Report last week. Just three games fit the criteria, but they provided huge outright wins for underdogs from the Browns (four-point dogs) and West Virginia (18-point dogs). This is a much busier week, with five college games and two from the NFL.

A. Awkward. That’s what it was—to put it mildly—between Josh Freeman and the Tampa Bay Bucs. First he threw a bunch of interceptions, then the Bucs lost a bunch of games, then Freeman was benched, then he demanded a trade, then the Bucs shopped him to all other 31 NFL teams, then information was leaked regarding Freeman’s participation in an NFL drug program, then head coach Greg Schiano was accused of the leaking, then Schiano denied it, then Freeman was finally released on Thursday.
Thank God It’s Friday: Reds Feeling Blue
by Ricky Dimon - 10/4/2013
It was an unceremonious end for the Cincinnati Reds, who are currently making tee times at local golf courses. It was an unceremonious start for Patrick Roy, who accomplished the rare feat of notching a game misconduct and hefty fine in a contest that his team—the Colorado Avalanche—dominated from start to finish. Who else is in dire need of the weekend? Let’s take a look.

Week 5 of the college football season is in the books, and we are happy to report that it was another profitable weekend for our loyal $100 bettors who ended up netting $350 on a 5-3 record that was up five units on Doc’s Unit Betting System. The bad news was our first loss of the season in one of our Game of the Year selections.

Doc’s Sports: Week 5 in the NFL provides some opportunities for a few teams to create even more distance in a couple of division title races. Which matchups on this week’s schedule stand out as must-win games for one team or the other?
Weekly Football Betting Public Action Report
by Trevor Whenham - 9/26/2013
We are coming off a quiet but effective week for the Public Action Report. There were only three games that fit the criteria, but Memphis was a runaway winner as a four-point underdog, and the Dolphins proved they were for real by beating the Falcons at home. A record of 2-1 ATS — I’d take that every week for the rest of my life. This week we have an identical three-game agenda, and hopefully we’ll be at least as successful.

A. ACL. The list is plentiful in the NFL year in and year out, and latest to go down with the season-ending injury is Chicago Bears’ defensive tackle Henry Melton. He sustained it during Sunday night’s 40-23 win over Pittsburgh as Chicago stayed undefeated. Melton is second among all NFL defensive tackles with 13 sacks since the start of the 2011 campaign. The Bears are +650 to win the NFC at Sportsbook.ag.

Heading into Week 5 of the college football season, Doc’s Sports is on a tear with a 19-8 record overall that includes a perfect 4-0 record on our top plays this season, which were all blowout wins. This all translates to a healthy profit of $4,780 for our $100 bettors as we are +51 units on the year. The amazing thing about our college picks so far is that we were in a position to win seven of the eight games we lost.

RE: I not sure either team has a chance to turn things around, but if I had to choose it would be New York. Eli Manning is the type of player that can throw eight interceptions in three games and then go out and throw eight touchdowns in his next three. The Steelers are looking old and tired. They have serious problems in almost every phase of the game, which could result in a major overhaul at the end of the season.
Back to the Futures: Champions League Off and Running
by Ricky Dimon - 9/23/2013
The group stage of the 2013-14 UEFA Champions League got underway last week. Chelsea apparently did not get the memo, but powerhouses like Bayern Munich, Barcelona, and Real Madrid certainly did. While futbol is heating up over there, football is doing the same over here. Alabama, Oregon, and Clemson are off to hot starts at the college ranks while the AFC North (and the NFC East, for that matter) is giving the NFL somewhat of a black eye.
Weekly Football Betting Public Action Report
by Trevor Whenham - 9/20/2013
It’s a light week of action for the Public Action Report — just two college football games and one in the NFL. It’s worth noting, though, that N.C. State met the criteria against Clemson Thursday night and covered the 12.5-point spread by the narrowest of margins. While we are short on quantity, the quality is there — the three games are all fairly interesting in their own way.
This Week in Sports Betting by the Numbers
by Nicholas Tolomeo - 9/19/2013
We’re just two weeks into the NFL season, and everyone is ready to anoint the Denver Broncos as Super Bowl Champions and the Jacksonville Jaguars as winners of the Jadeveon Clowney sweepstakes. But hold the phone, Denver, the Seattle Seahawks look even better than last year. And Jaguar fans, don’t spring for a customized Clowney jersey just yet; the Browns are apparently going all in on the Clowney sweepstakes after blowing up their roster two games into the season.

Last week we released our 7-Unit Nonconference College Game of the Year, and it found the winner’s circle with Maryland’s 32-21 victory over Connecticut as a six-point favorite on the road. The Terrapins made us work for this win with three turnovers and two stalled drives on fourth down. However, in the end a win is a win.
