However, there is going to be legal sports betting in the state on that day. Sunday, Jan. 1 marks Week 17 on the regular NFL season to kick off 2023 with a bang. Louisiana Sportsbooks Wrap Up October With More Than $1.8 Billion in Wagers

Legal sports betting in Massachusetts has a launch date in late January on the retail level and early March for online sports betting. The state’s Massachusetts Gaming Commission addressed the matter in a public meeting on Thursday, Oct. 26. Boston-based DraftKings Sportsbook request for a universal launch date for the state’s retail and online sports betting was turned down. The Massachusetts Gaming Commission held firm on its original proposal.
