NFL Odds: Analyzing Minnesota Vikings' 2016 Road Schedule
by Alan Matthews - 5/18/2016
I'll give credit where it's due. A lot of well-known NFL experts were on the Minnesota bandwagon entering last season. I thought the Vikings might contend for a wild-card spot but didn't trust Teddy Bridgewater or his receiving group a heck of a lot and thought the NFC North title was a pipe dream. Plus, who knew what Adrian Peterson would be after missing all but one game of the 2015 season due to suspension.
NFL Odds: Analyzing Cincinnati Bengals' 2016 Road Schedule
by Alan Matthews - 5/17/2016
OK, how much longer can the Cincinnati Bengals keep Marvin Lewis as their head coach? Yes, I understand the team is having unprecedented regular-season success under Lewis. He is 112-94-2 in the regular season there and Cincinnati has made the playoffs five straight seasons, easily the longest stretch in team history.
NFL Odds: Analyzing Washington Redskins' 2016 Road Schedule
by Alan Matthews - 5/13/2016
Entering last season, Washington coach Jay Gruden was the betting favorite to be the first NFL coach fired. And I thought it would be either him or Miami's Joe Philbin -- it turned out to be Philbin. Gruden now seems to have job security after leading the Redskins to a 9-7 record in 2015 and a surprising NFC East title. He also doesn't have to worry about the fact that Robert Griffin III was buddies with owner Dan Snyder any longer. Gruden didn't use RGII at all last season and the former Offensive Rookie of the Year is now in Cleveland.
NFL Odds: Analyzing New England Patriots' 2016 Road Schedule
by Alan Matthews - 5/12/2016
Welcome to my first schedule analysis for the upcoming 2016 NFL season. That I'm starting these means the NBA and NHL seasons are winding down and we are entering the slow period of the NFL calendar. But it also means that training camps aren't too far off.
2016 NFL Odds: Carolina Panthers Week-by-Week Betting Predictions
by George Monroy - 5/10/2016
The 2016 NFL season is still a few months away. However, the weekly spreads have already been released, and the Carolina Panthers are expected to dominate the NFC once again. The defending conference champions were thoroughly embarrassed by the Denver Broncos during the Super Bowl, yet the team is still filled with young talent and an elite quarterback who may be looking for revenge. Carolina has already been installed as a favorite in all but one of its games-a Week 13 road matchup against Seattle-and if 2016 ends up anything like 2015, the Panthers will be one of the best ATS bets in the league.
Betting Odds and Free Picks 2016 NFL Early Props
by Dave Schwab - 5/9/2016
The 2016 NFL Draft is in the books, which opens the door to the time of the NFL offseason when sportsbooks will start to release betting odds for things such as NFL Week 1 lines, projected win totals and division titles. MyBookie has taken things a bit farther on its current NFL offseason betting board with a trio of prop bet odds for some individual awards.
NFL Odds and Predictions: 2016 Offensive Rookie of the Year Picks
by Alan Matthews - 5/6/2016
Now that free agency is over for the most part and the draft has concluded, we have hit the dreaded dead zone in terms of NFL news. Sure, you might see a big injury during OTAs or surprise player release over the next few months, but for the most part things calm down until teams report to training camp in July. Trust me, this is when most NFL beat writers take their vacations.
NFL Draft Review from a Bettor's Eyes
by Trevor Whenham - 5/5/2016
The NFL Draft is kind of like Christmas. For months we build up to it and focus on it intensely, and then in a flash it is gone. Luckily, in the world of the NFL there is always something else to focus on, so the void is pretty easy to fill. I'm definitely of the school that believes that you can't judge what the draft really meant or who won or lost for a few years at the earliest. As I look at the first round as it went down, though, there are four guys who, from a betting perspective, are more interesting than the rest in the short term.

NFL Game of the Year Point Spreads Released: Most Intriguing Divisional Matchups
by George Monroy - 5/4/2016
The 2016 NFL point spreads were released a few weeks ago. And even though we are still months away from the NFL football season, bettors will nevertheless begin to obsess over lines and try to get an early edge on the upcoming season. Many spreads, particularly late in the year, could offer loads of value as the oddsmakers cannot predict how any team might perform during a random Week 10-injuries, momentum, and chemistry play a huge part in a team's season, and those factors are difficult to account for. Since the spreads are out, let's take a closer look at a few of the most intriguing divisional matchup lines with predictions and analysis.
NFL Betting Odds and Expert Predictions: 2016 Draft Props
by Alan Matthews - 4/27/2016
I'm rather glad there's just one NBA playoff game on Thursday night and that it's one that I don't much care about from a non-betting perspective (Hawks at Celtics Game 6). That's because while I love the NBA playoffs, I'm definitely an NFL Draft nerd and will be watching Thursday's first round in its entirety. And probably much of the weekend coverage.
Impact of Tom Brady Suspension on NFL Betting Odds
by Victor Ryan - 4/26/2016
The decision by the U.S. Court of Appeals to reinstate Tom Brady's four-game suspension because of "Deflategate" has understandably shaken up the NFL betting markets. Let's start by saying those sharp enough to take Arizona in what was once a "pick'em" game against New England in Week 1 are feeling pretty good right about now.
2016 NFL Draft Betting Props Odds with Expert Picks and Predictions
by Raphael Esparza - 4/22/2016
Our friends over at MyBookie have posted odds for the 2016 NFL Draft at the Chicago's Auditorium Theatre in Chicago. The NFL Draft has made some epic news already with the Tennessee Titans trading the No. 1 pick of the 2016 draft to the Los Angeles Rams, and that pick will be a quarterback. Earlier this week the Cleveland Browns traded the No. 2 pick to the Philadelphia Eagles, and here is another team that traded a bunch of future picks for a QB.
NFL Handicapping: Best Games First Two Weeks of 2016 Schedule
by Trevor Whenham - 4/20/2016
The NFL schedule has just been released. I'm not going to do anything insane like look for value in the odds that have been posted for some of the games already - the draft hasn't even happened yet, so there are far too many unknowns to make an even remotely rational bet. It is never too early, though, to look at the schedule and circle the games early on that are the most interesting - and potentially present the most interesting puzzles for bettors in the opening weeks of the season.
NFL Season Win Totals Odds Released by CG Technology
by Robert Ferringo - 2/26/2016
The paint isn't even dry on the Denver Broncos' Super Bowl banner. The booze and coke from the players' celebration has only recently been washed off. Yet people in dark corners are already shining the light on the 2016 NFL football betting season and already sculpting expectations as to how that season with play out.
NFL Props Odds with Expert Betting Picks and Predictions
by Dave Schwab - 2/17/2016
This could be the toughest time of the year for anyone who loves to bet on the NFL. The withdrawal from a recent bonanza of betting action for Super Bowl 50 is just setting in and the prospect of any actual game-time betting action is over six months away.
NFL Handicapping: Many Teams in Need of QBs
by Trevor Whenham - 2/9/2016
The Denver Broncos have a shiny new Super Bowl trophy, but they also have a very big headache looming at quarterback. Peyton Manning will likely retire, and in the unlikely event he doesn't the team needs to decide if they still want to pay him. Presumptive future starter Brock Osweiler is a free agent who will be in real demand, too. No matter what, then, the team will likely be in the market for at least a backup. Tense times loom for John Elway.
NFL Handicapping: Denver Broncos Outlook after Winning Super Bowl
by Trevor Whenham - 2/8/2016
John Elway has a few days to enjoy what he and his team have accomplished this year and then it's right back to work. And there is a whole lot of work to do - and it won't be easy. We often see the defending Super Bowl champions named as favorites for the next year as soon as futures odds are posted the day after the Super Bowl.
2016 Super Bowl Betting Mistakes: Five Things To Avoid
by George Monroy - 1/26/2016
We've waited all year. Now there's only one game left to decide all the marbles; the Denver Broncos versus the Carolina Panthers. Super Bowl 50 is only a week+ away, and now the big question is who we are supposed to bet. Carolina might be a juggernaut, while Denver's defense is just intimidating. As most players already know, betting on the Super Bowl can be tricky business. The biggest key is to not get caught up in the Super Bowl hype and try to make as few mistakes as possible.
NFL Betting and Wagering Advice: Most Important Matchups Championship Weekend
by Victor Ryan - 1/22/2016
It's now less than 48 hours until championship Sunday in the NFL and both the AFC and NFC title games remain separated by a field goal on the line. With most expecting Patriots-Broncos and Cardinals-Panthers to be closely contested, the difference in the outcome will likely be which team triumphs in more of the key matchups. Let's take a closer look at some of the most important battles to be played out in Sunday's gridiron wars.
