by Joey House - 10/11/2024
Welcome to the 7th edition of the 2024 Public Action Report, where we study the NFL and college football lines for reverse line movement. If you're new to the series, this link will take you to the introductory article that explains what constitutes a reverse line move. Our picks went 1-2 last week, with Miami defeating New England 15-10 as a 1-point favorite. San Francisco continued the upset trend by losing to Arizona 24-23 as a 7.5-point, and Penn State looked flat in the first half of their non-covering 27-11 victory over UCLA as a 28.5-point favorite.
Best NFL Teaser Bets Week 6: Basic Strategy Teasers

As the NFL regular season rolls on, the point spreads get sharper by the week. It's about the time of year when many NFL bettors' bankrolls begin to shrink. If you do your homework in the offseason, and keep your attachment levels in check, the first few weeks of the season aren't too difficult to come out ahead, provided you bet responsibly, of course. In Weeks 4-6, more or less, the public player who still does his homework can continue his success.
NFL Week 7 Lookahead Lines: Best Bets and Predictions
by Mike Allen - 10/9/2024
As bettors, the mountains we overcome, the obstacles we evade, the ego control, and the self-discipline it takes to be profitable are just a few reasons why only 3% are successful. We're also overloaded with information. That is especially true for betting on the NFL. It takes consistent work to stay afloat, and it's easy to get behind. That's why we stay ahead.
NFL Betting Predictions: Week 6 Opening Line Report and Picks
by Spencer Toth - 10/7/2024
There are few better feelings than securing closing line value on a shifting NFL spread. The opening line can bring up unique betting opportunities that will not necessarily be available when kickoff rolls around. Guaranteeing yourself an extra point or two of value may not seem that important, but every half point matters when attempting to beat the sportsbooks.
Weekly Public Action Football Betting Report with Predictions 10/4/2024
by Joey House - 10/4/2024
Welcome to Week 6 of the Public Action Report, where we analyze college and NFL lines for reverse line movement. If you're new to the series, this link will take you to the introductory article that explains what constitutes a reverse line move. We went 1-2 last week, with Washington winning outright against Arizona 42-14 as a 3.5-point road dog and a non-covering win with Houston downing Jacksonville 24-20. Carolina battled valiantly but fell to Cincinnati, falling 34-24. The line was 6.5 points when I wrote the column but closed at 4.5, with reverse movement the entire way.

In the world of handicapping and sports betting, we stay zoomed in. Yes, it’s a great idea to break down one game at a time. However, zooming out at least once a week and focusing our camera on the following week’s slate of games allows us to see the game from a different perspective.
Best NFL Teaser Bets Week 5: Basic Strategy Teasers

Parlays can be a lot of fun…until they aren't. Whether or not you decide to parlay 2 or 3 selections or to go for 5 or 6, you're probably going to lose. When you do, it seems as if you are just one win away from cashing. At least, those are the ones you don't forget. It's hard enough to pick one winner in the NFL, much less several.
NFL Betting Predictions: Week 5 Opening Line Report and Picks
by Spencer Toth - 9/30/2024
The bye weeks are beginning in the NFL, as Week 5 brings another tantalizing slate of NFL football to the table. The opening lines can often be significantly different from the closing lines, and it is crucial to lock in the extra value when possible. Last week, we went 1-1 with a push on our opening lines report, bringing our season record to 4-4-1. The Buccaneers made quick work of the Eagles, but the Saints failed to cover the spread by a single point against the Falcons.
Weekly Public Action Football Betting Report with Predictions 9/27/2024
by Joey House - 9/27/2024
We followed up our perfect 3-0 NFL week with an 0-2 effort. Chicago outgained Indy but turned over the ball more, leading to their demise. Arizona's defense played better than expected, but their offense was punchless, scoring only 13 points. Nevertheless, both games were very close to cashing tickets for us. We went 1-1 in college, as Clemson blew the breaks off of NC State, but Houston was MIA in Cincinnati, getting shut out.
NFL Week 5 Lookahead Lines: Best Bets and Predictions
by Mike Allen - 9/26/2024
Are you sick and tired of checking the NFL betting odds on Monday or Tuesday morning for the upcoming week only to realize that the early birds scarfed up your worm? It’s hard enough to be on the right side of an NFL bet. So, if we can beat some closing line value with a wager on a lookahead line, why not?
Best NFL Teaser Bets Week 4: Basic Strategy Teasers
by Mike Allen - 9/24/2024
By a country mile, the NFL is the most popular sport to bet on in the USA. However, sportsbooks can sometimes lose money on one sport but still make so much profit from football that it barely matters. I remember living in Las Vegas and sparring with a professional hockey bettor. At the time, only a couple of the casinos in town offered hockey lines because they were getting beat. He left training and went straight to the Hooters Casino to pace his bets.
NFL Betting Predictions: Week 4 Opening Line Report and Picks
by Spencer Toth - 9/23/2024
Believe it or not, the NFL regular season is already 17% complete as we head into a pivotal Week 4 of games. The opening lines report gives you the best chance of locking in a profit for Week 4, as a single point shift in the line can make all the difference at the end of the week. By locking in your Week 4 NFL picks now, you can avoid worrying about the line shifting before kickoff.
Weekly Public Action Football Betting Report with Predictions 9/19/2024
by Joey House - 9/19/2024
Last week was the first week we analyzed the NFL, and what a week it was, going a perfect 3-0 and earning the PAR's first clean sweep. I don't break down the first week of the NFL season, because those lines had been posted for months and trampled on by the heathens. Our featured selection of Green Bay +3 over Indianapolis hit, as the Packers won 16-10 outright. The two other plays were underdog winners: Cleveland and the New York Jets. The college plays were not as great, as we went 1-2 in our highlighted plays and 4-4 overall.
Best NFL Teaser Bets Week 3: Basic Strategy Teasers
by Mike Allen - 9/18/2024
Sports betting is becoming more popular around the country every year. Football, particularly the NFL, is leading the way in American sports. Once upon a time, we only had the moneyline to bet on, and eventually, the point spread and total came along. With the rise of fantasy football, betting on player performance props each week has become popular and even profitable for some. Betting parlays can be a lot of fun, well, until one of the legs crumbles under you. We don’t generally recommend betting parlays. However, teasers can be good value.
NFL Betting Predictions: Week 3 Opening Line Report and Picks
by Spencer Toth - 9/16/2024
The second week of NFL action is now behind us, and there is no time to waste in locking in your NFL Week 3 picks. A one-point difference between the opening and closing lines may not appear to make a difference, but that critical extra value can be the difference between winning and losing in the long run. By locking in your Week 3 picks now, you can avoid worrying about line movement as the games inch closer.
Best NFL Teaser Bets Week 2: Basic Strategy Teasers
by Mike Allen - 9/10/2024
Making money betting on the NFL is one of the hardest things a human can do. This is especially true when chasing those pesky point spreads every week. The juice is worth the squeeze if you do your homework. However, I'm sure there have been multiple memorable occasions where you were forced to watch your break turn bad in the final minutes of a game.
NFL Betting Predictions: Week 2 Opening Line Report and Picks
by Spencer Toth - 9/9/2024
The first week of NFL action is in the books, and it’s now time to look ahead at Week 2’s opening lines. While the differences between an opening and closing line may only be a point or two, these valuable edges can be the difference-maker when trying to generate a profit throughout the NFL season. By locking in your bet at the best number possible, you can increase your chances when NFL Sunday comes rolling around.
2024 Baltimore Ravens Predictions with Odds to Win the Super Bowl
by Ryan Cobbett - 9/4/2024
Last season, the Baltimore Ravens finished with the best record in not only the AFC, but the entire league, as they finished 13-4 with a league leading +203-point differential. The Ravens scored 483 points last season, which was the second highest total in the AFC, while their 280 points allowed were the lowest in the NFL. Unfortunately for Ravens fans, their season came to an end in the Conference Championship of the playoffs as Baltimore fell to the eventual Super Bowl Champs, the Kansas City Chiefs, 17-10.
Best NFL Teaser Bets Week 1: Basic Strategy Teasers
by Mike Allen - 9/4/2024
It's officially Week 1 of the 2024 NFL regular season. Handicappers and recreational bettors alike have had months to make their Week 1 picks. I have some spots I like with the point spread given by the sportsbooks. However, betting on the NFL isn't easy, and those point spreads have been the death of many good men.
2024 Kansas City Chiefs Predictions with Odds to Win the Super Bowl
by Ryan Cobbett - 9/3/2024
Last season could not have gone any better for the Kansas City Chiefs as they went on to win the Super Bowl in overtime, over the San Francisco 49ers, beating them 25-22. The start to the regular season is what propelled Kansas City into the playoffs as they started the year 6-1. The back half of their regular season schedule wasn’t kind to them as they went just 5-5.
