Week 15 NFL Picks: Best 6-Point Teaser Bets from Handicapper Doug Upstone
by Doug Upstone - 12/11/2019
Last week I stated I wanted to close the season strong on NFL teasers and got off to a good start at 3-1, taking season record to 39-17. That is not where I wanted to be for NFL picks but can only strive to maximize what is left for the 2019 season.
NFC East Odds: Predictions for NFL's Worst Division
by Trevor Whenham - 12/10/2019
It is hard to believe that it is possible for a division in the NFL to be as bad as the NFC East is right now. These guys are supposed to be pros. At the way things are going right now, if these teams had any pride, they would all just forfeit the rest of the season and let real teams contest the postseason. With their win on Monday night, the Eagles moved to 6-7.
NFL Betting Predictions: Week 15 Opening Line Report and Picks
by Alan Matthews - 12/9/2019
Texas Tech transfer Baker Mayfield won the Heisman Trophy in a record-setting season at Oklahoma in 2017, was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft and had a fine rookie year, finishing second for NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year behind a first-round running back (the Giants' Saquon Barkley).
NFL Betting Odds: Week 14 Line Movements and Last-Minute News
by Chris Vasile - 12/6/2019
As we approach the final few weeks of the season, I have to give a shout out to Jason Garrett. I'm not too sure what kind of blackmail he has on Jerry Jones that's enabling him to keep his job for the duration of this season or in failed seasons of the past, but it has to be something juicy. If his name was John Doe and he didn't clap excessively for no reason, he likely would have been canned a long time ago given the fact that the Cowboys roster is chock-full of high-end talent, yet they continue to disappoint year in and year out.

Best and Worst NFL Betting Teams Against the Spread
by Trevor Whenham - 12/6/2019
We are entering the final quarter of the NFL season. In fact, as I write this, it is late Thursday night, so the Cowboys and Bears are already into the final quarter. As we get ready for the stretch drive, it's a good time to check in on the teams that have been very good to bettors so far this year and those that really haven't -- the betting studs and duds of the NFL season so far.
Week 14 NFL Picks: Best 6-Point Teaser Bets from Handicapper Doug Upstone
by Doug Upstone - 12/5/2019
We are back for NFL teasers and looking to finish the last quarter of the regular season with a bang! We have gone through a bit of rough spell and seen our record drop 36-16 on teasers. It's time to pick it back up and deliver as usual with these plays starting this week.
NFL Betting Predictions: Week 14 Opening Line Report and Picks
by Alan Matthews - 12/2/2019
For some odd reason, the NFL chose not to flex what is clearly the biggest game of Week 14, San Francisco 49ers at New Orleans Saints, into the prime-time window. The league kept Seahawks-Rams there. Why!?! I get why Fox didn't want to at least move 49ers-Saints to the mid-afternoon slot because Chiefs-Patriots is going to dominate that window on CBS (that network has doubleheader rights this Sunday). San Francisco gets hosed here in a big way because it's a second straight 10 a.m. Pacific time start for the Niners.
NFL Betting Odds: Week 13 Line Movements and Last-Minute News
by Chris Vasile - 11/29/2019
Another Thanksgiving has come and gone, and for the first time since I can remember the NFL, schedule did not disappoint. We had three games that were very close and competitive despite some sloppy play from all six teams involved. We believe the better team (on the day) won each game and the spreads were covered by the right teams. Now we head into the weekend slate, and there are a handful of games that I'm excited to watch, starting in Baltimore, where the Ravens play host to the 49ers in what could be a potential Super Bowl preview.
NFL Thanksgiving Betting Advice: Predictions for All Three Games
by Trevor Whenham - 11/27/2019
I'm not typically a jealous guy. But, as a devoted lover of turkey and a proud Canadian, I feel an intense burst of jealousy one Thursday each November. Canadians get our Thanksgiving out of the way in mid-October, so while you guys get to hang out, gorge yourselves, and watch football all day, up here it's just Thursday. I really can't complain too much - watching football is my job, and I'll probably make turkey for dinner.
NFL MVP Odds with Expert Betting Predictions

Here's a little behind the scenes talk for a minute. At the end of each week, I look ahead to the next week and suggest a list of articles that I would be interested in writing. I try to pick things that are interesting, relevant, and of interest to our audience. The challenge, though, is that you are making suggestions before the weekend's games have been played, so you are left to guess what might happen.
NFL Betting Predictions: Week 13 Opening Line Report and Picks
by Alan Matthews - 11/25/2019
Amazing how much can change in less than a calendar year. The Los Angeles Chargers tied for the AFC lead with 12 victories last season and might have gone to the Super Bowl if only Philip Rivers and Co. had been in the opposite side of the bracket from Tom Brady and the Patriots and been able to avoid them somehow - Rivers has never beaten Brady.
Week 12 NFL Picks: Best 6-Point Teaser Bets from Handicapper Doug Upstone
by Doug Upstone - 11/21/2019
It was very disappointing for NFL teasers as we didn't hit a single one for the first time this season and our record fell to 31-13. I'm the first one to sing my praises when I'm right and I'm going to be the first to also admit when things didn't go as planned. If a handicapper is not going to be truthful, people like yourself are going to see right through the smokescreen.
NFL Betting Advice: Are Buffalo Bills a Real Contender?
by Trevor Whenham - 11/21/2019
There are, as always, several surprises in the NFL this year. Some are negative - the struggles of the Bears or Falcons, or the disappointing incompetence of the Browns. And then there are obviously some positives. With the possible exception of the Niners, the biggest positive surprise in the league so far has to be the Buffalo Bills.
2020 Super Bowl Contenders and Pretenders
by Trevor Whenham - 11/20/2019
There are 12 teams currently sitting in playoff spots in the NFL. Obviously. That was the case after the first week, and it will be after the last week of the season, too. The 12 teams that are in those spots won't be the same 12 that are there when it matters, in all likelihood. But several of the teams will be there in the end, and the others are obviously contenders. It's a good time to look at which of the current playoff teams are true Super Bowl contenders and which are just pretenders.
NFL Odds for Next Coach to be Fired
by Trevor Whenham - 11/20/2019
Ever been fired from a job? It's a horrible feeling. You are lost and confused and angry. If you have lived through it, you wouldn't wish that on anyone. Yet, for some perverse reason, we all take pleasure in the potential firing of coaches in sports. There are few things more interesting to speculate about as we get further into a season.
NFL Betting Predictions: Week 12 Opening Line Report and Picks
by Alan Matthews - 11/18/2019
With the New York Giants and embattled coach Pat Shurmur coming out of their bye in Week 12, and the fact that Shurmur wasn't fired during the off week, well I'm starting to think that the only coach we will see fired during the 2019 season is Washington's Jay Gruden, who got the pink slip following a 33-7 loss to the Patriots in Week 5.
NFL Betting Odds: Week 11 Line Movements and Last-Minute News
by Chris Vasile - 11/15/2019
Dear Mr. Myles Garrett, what the hell were you thinking? The Cleveland Browns were seconds away from winning their second game in a row and getting to 4-6 on the season and potentially changing the narrative of their season before Garrett lost his damn mind and hit Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph over the head with his own helmet. That move will likely get Garrett suspended for the foreseeable future and will likely go down as one of the most selfish plays I've seen in a very long time.
NFL Division Odds: Handicapping and Predictions
by Trevor Whenham - 11/15/2019
After next week, all the bye weeks are done with in the NFL. That's when things really get serious. Playoff races get intense, the top teams start to focus on the postseason, and bettors start to dream of betting on playoff football. As the postseason becomes more than just a distant dream, it is always a good practice to keep an eye on where the races are at, how the teams shape up, and where the drama is - and, in many cases, really isn't.
