NFL Betting Predictions: Week 9 Opening Line Report and Picks
by Mike Pruitt - 11/2/2021
Week 8 was a really fun one. Not only did we see one of the most climactic/anti-climactic wins of the year when the Green Bay Packers picked off Kyler Murray in the end zone when future hall of famer A.J. Green didn’t even turn around for the pass and it fell somehow directly in the hands of the defender and the game was over before anyone even knew what happened.
NFL Betting Predictions: Week 8 Opening Line Report and Picks
by Mike Pruitt - 10/25/2021
First off, how about those Las Vegas Raiders?! Derek Carr continues to impress. And even with everything that went on with former head coach Jon Gruden, this squad has stuck together like a kindergartener's hands and the last bottle of glue.
Biggest Comebacks in NFL History
by Mike Pruitt - 10/25/2021
Football is a wild game. We can get a boring 13-3 game with punt after punt, fair catch after fair catch, bubble screens, halfback dives up the middle, and various other passive decisions and plays by both teams. Sometimes, though, we see an offense like the Arizona Cardinals of 2021, and they air it out. Their offense may not always be effective, but you aren't going to guess what these guys are going to do next.
Basic Strategy Teasers: Best Week 7 NFL Betting Options
by Chris Vasile - 10/21/2021
If you’ve been following along with the Basic Strategy Teaser since Week 1, you would be up a good chunk of change. The teaser that I give out on a weekly basis is hitting at an 80 percent clip, and I fully expect to continue that run into the middle portion of the season. Sportsbooks have not yet adjusted the spreads they give out to take away the opportunity for proper teasers. And until they do, we will continue to have great lines and great spots to bet into.
Basic Strategy Teasers: Best Week 6 NFL Betting Options
by Chris Vasile - 10/13/2021
Normally when I write this Basic Strategy Teaser piece, the content pretty much writes itself. There are usually several games I have available to select from that fall within the BST parameters. This week, it was a little harder to find games that fit the system because this is usually when the sportsbooks start catching on and the numbers get start to get sharper as the weeks pass us by.
NFL Betting Predictions: Week 6 Opening Line Report and Picks
by Mike Pruitt - 10/12/2021
Week 5 was a fun one for NFL fans and one that potentially marked the beginning of a new era in the AFC. For what seems like too long now, the Kansas City Chiefs have been the most dominant team by far. New England fell off, and now this year, it doesn’t look like the Baltimore Ravens are on an elite level, either. Well, if these teams aren’t some of the very best, then what squads are?
Basic Strategy Teasers: Best Week 5 NFL Betting Options
by Chris Vasile - 10/7/2021
We roll into Week 5 of the National Football League with a hell of a lot more questions than answers. Yes, I understand it’s still early in the season, but I can’t help but think to myself why teams are playing a certain way, why teams are using players in a certain way, and if the refs still have no clue what’s going on or how to officiate a football game properly.
NFL Betting Predictions: Week 5 Opening Line Report and Picks
by Mike Pruitt - 10/4/2021
So, it turns out Tom Brady did, in fact, escape his trip back to Massachusetts with a victory. It wasn't the prettiest game ever, and the score was much lower than a lot of us imagined, but he got it done against his old coach, team, and town of 20 years.
Basic Strategy Teasers: Best Week 4 NFL Betting Options
by Chris Vasile - 9/30/2021
If you’ve missed my content earlier in the week surrounding the Week 4 Survivor Pool picks or Week 4 office pool picks, you will not know that I had a tremendous week last week in all facets. We hit our teaser in a big way, we went 14-2 with our straight-up selections and 12-4 against the spread with our office pool selections. It was a great week, yet I am still not satisfied. I have been hard at work since the Sunday night game ended, and I’m excited about replicating that success in Week 4. Anyone can get hot for a week, but to do it on a consistent basis is what we all strive for. Let’s have a great Week 4.
NFL Betting Predictions: Week 4 Opening Line Report and Picks
by Mike Pruitt - 9/27/2021
So, it appears that before we even take the opportunity to recap the betting action from week 3, we must address the big ole elephant hunched down in the corner over there. Tom Brady, this week, will make his long-awaited return to New England to play his former team of nearly 20 years.
Basic Strategy Teasers: Best Week 3 NFL Betting Options
by Chris Vasile - 9/23/2021
We are through two weeks of NFL action, and it’s imperative to realize that teams are not as good or as bad as their record indicates. Teams like Kansas City, Buffalo, Pittsburgh Seattle, Tennessee, Green Bay, are all 1-1, while teams like Las Vegas, Carolina, and Denver are 2-0. Not many people would have predicted that to start the season, which is why it’s critical to take the first two week’s results with a grain of salt. Teams are still finding their groove, and by Week 7 or 8 we will see what teams truly are. In terms of betting, underdogs have made a killing so far this season, which is why if you like the favorite in a particular game, a good option would be to tease them down.
NFL Betting Predictions: Week 3 Opening Line Report and Picks
by Mike Pruitt - 9/20/2021
This past Sunday was not a great day for low-level starting quarterbacks in the NFL. While Derek Carr continued to fuel the argument for him to be considered a Top 5 quarterback in the NFL leading the Las Vegas Raiders to another win, we saw several other gunslingers succumb to injury.
Basic Strategy Teasers: Best Week 1 NFL Betting Options
by Chris Vasile - 9/9/2021
The NFL season is upon us, and bettors everywhere are rejoicing. Depending on when you’re reading this article, the Tampa/Dallas game may be upcoming or in the history books. Either way, I’m hoping that you got off to a winning start in the NFL with your wagers and were able to turn a profit. I’m looking forward to this Sunday when we have 14 games to indulge in, and we only leave the couch during commercial breaks to use the bathroom.
NFL Betting Predictions: Week 1 Opening Line Report and Picks
by Gary Patrick Garry - 9/7/2021
Every Monday during the NFL season, I am going to provide a look at the opening lines with an emphasis on the games that stand out to me. The odds for Week 1 were originally posted back in May after the NFL released the 2021 schedules. We have been able to follow them for a while now. And even though there have been some significant personnel moves, the lines have stayed surprisingly consistent.
First NFL Coach to be Fired Odds and Expert Betting Predictions
by Devon Rymarchuk - 9/7/2021
It is turning into one of NFL fans and sports betters favorite prop bets each and every year. That’s right, you got it, “which NFL coach will be relieved of his duty first in the 2021/2022 season?”. With the volatility of NFL head coaches being at an all-time high, before each season odds are released for the first coach to be fired heading in the upcoming season. Over the past five seasons, an average of 2.2 head coaches have been fired per year, making this prop bet all the more exciting.
NFL Betting: Turnover Disparity Often Good Indicator of Team Regression or Ascension
by Robert Ferringo - 8/26/2021
“That’s why they play with a funny-shaped ball.” When I first started out as a football handicapper, I had a client that would e-mail me every few weeks to chat about this or that. He’d celebrate big weekends. He’d try to boost my confidence after bad ones. And when I was particularly frustrated by a bad beat or a brutal loss, his response was always the same: “That’s why they play with a funny-shaped ball.”
NFL New 17th Game: What Bettors Should Know
by Jeremy Martin - 8/25/2021
NFL Week 18. That’s something I thought I’d never hear in my lifetime. However, it’s a reality now as this offseason the NFL owners approved an extra game for each team starting this season. The move was made, according to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, to “enhance the quality of the NFL experience for our fans” and to give the NFL the ability to “grow our game around the world”. But who are we kidding? The change was made to line the owners’ pockets with more revenue from TV contracts and ticket sales.
BetMGM Releases Betting Lines for 256 NFL Games
by Dave Schwab - 7/27/2021
It was not all that long ago when avid NFL bettors had to wait for the preseason games to end before betting lines were posted for the regular season’s Week 1 matchups. That started to change a few years back when many of the offshore sportsbooks would post Week 1 lines following the official release of the NFL regular season schedule.
AFC Championship Game Betting Picks: Best Props Bills at Chiefs
by Chris Vasile - 1/22/2021
When the Bills take on the Chiefs in Sunday’s AFC Championship game, it will mark the fourth ever meeting between the two franchises in postseason history. The Bills own a 2-1 record in those matchups, with the Chiefs only win coming in the AFL Championship back in 1967. As a franchise, this game will mark the sixth time the Bills will compete in the AFC Championship Game and they hold a 4-1 record. I’m sure we all know that those four wins were followed up by Super Bowl losses from the 1990 to 1993 seasons. As for the Chiefs, this will be their fourth trip to the AFC title game, and they own a 1-2 record all time.
NFC Championship Game Betting Predictions: Best Props Buccaneers at Packers
by Chris Vasile - 1/22/2021
When the Tampa Bay Buccaneers travel to Lambeau Field to take on the Green Bay Packers on Sunday in the NFC Championship Game, it will be just the second meeting between the teams in the postseason, with the Packers getting the upper hand in the 1997 Divisional Round. From an individual franchise perspective, this will be just the Bucs’ fourth trip to the NFC Championship Game, and they hold a record of 1-2 in those games with the lone win coming in their Super Bowl-winning season in 2002.
