Free NBA Picks Wednesday, December 11 and Opening Line Report
by Jason Radowitz - 12/10/2019
In Thursday's NBA slate, we have the matchup everyone has been waiting for! The Knicks visiting the Warriors! This game will help decide who has a better chance at the first overall pick in next year's draft lottery! In this slate, I've taken more favorites than not. There's going to be some lopsided games with high-quality teams playing very poor teams. The favorites should cover the spread for the most part.

Carmelo Anthony will get to compete against the Knicks on Tuesday night. Knicks fans will get to enjoy something this season. It's kind of sad for Knicks fans. Carmelo Anthony playing against the Knicks will be one of the top highlights of the season. This four-game slate isn't all that appealing outside of the Nuggets against the 76ers. To be honest, I don't agree with the NBA scheduling.

On Saturday, only the diehard basketball fans watch the NBA. I get it. The College Football Conference Championships are on all day, along with your favorite college playing a nonconference basketball game. Anyway, we've got five solid NBA games to get ready for. Wait… just four. The Knicks don't count.
Expert NBA Handicapping and Betting Advice: Home and Road Splits
by Trevor Whenham - 12/6/2019
Want a quick shorthand technique to evaluate where a team is at in the NBA - whether they are in a good place or not? Compare their road record to their home record. It's obviously easier to win at home than on the road. Really good teams, though, care much less about where they are playing. They just win. It's not as simple as saying that a team with a big gap in performance between the home record and the road record is a bad one, or one that we shouldn't trust as bettors.
Free NBA Picks Friday, December 6 and Opening Line Report
by Jason Radowitz - 12/5/2019
Friday night basketball never gets old. The Clippers play the Bucks and the Nuggets play the Celtics. Those are two potential championship matchups later in the playoffs. Obviously, it's too early to look ahead, but it's not too early to break down NBA games for Friday! We've got a 10-game slate with lots of interesting games taking place. Here are my picks for Friday.
Free NBA Picks Thursday, December 5 and Opening Line Report
by Jason Radowitz - 12/4/2019
Thursday's slate features just four games. The most intriguing matchup on the night goes to the Rockets and Raptors. Both teams are coming off overtime losses and will want to get back to their usual winning ways. The Rockets had tough luck losing to the Spurs in double overtime. On one play in the fourth quarter, Harden dunked a basket and it was called a miss when it clearly went through the basket.
Free NBA Picks Wednesday, December 4 and Opening Line Report
by Jason Radowitz - 12/3/2019
There are a bunch of teams playing on a second back-to-back game on Wednesday. It's so hard to take any team playing a second straight game because you never know what tricks head coaches have up their sleeves. Will they give less minutes to their stars, or will the entire team be too tired to perform and play another game. Load management is a real thing. Teams truly believe it's necessary to rest their players for the future. Look out for adjustments in a couple games tomorrow.

I don't think we've ever seen this amount of scoring in recent memory in the NBA. The Clippers scored 150 on the Wizards, winning by just 25 on Sunday night. A total of 275 points were scored. It's getting crazy. I'm tempted to never take an under again! Luckily, oddsmakers adjust the numbers based on previous history.
Free NBA Picks Saturday, November 30 and Opening Line Report
by Jason Radowitz - 11/29/2019
On Saturday we've got a four-game slate, with most teams playing a back-to-back. It's hard to evaluate these the day before because of that. However, some trends are pointing us in the right direction. The Hornets are 4-0 in the second game of a back-to-back this season. Will we lock them in to cover the spread with 14.5 points? The four game early leans are down below!

Happy Thanksgiving! I know everyone's sad that there's no NBA basketball today, but we've got a 14-game slate on Friday to start the long weekend! The Nets and Celtics play at Noon EST tomorrow. Maybe Nets fans will get their wish and watch Kyrie Irving suit up tomorrow for their game against the Celtics at home. Luckily there's no load management issues with literally zero teams playing today. All starters that usually get rest for no reason will be playing. That makes picking games so much easier!
NBA MVP Predictions with Betting Odds and Expert Picks
by Trevor Whenham - 11/27/2019
The NBA MVP race is always interesting, and his year it feels more wide-open and interesting than ever. A combination of the total collapse of the Warriors, the rise of some youngsters, and the continued strength of some of the old guard, means that almost anything is possible still. It has been a very fun season so far, and there is still so much left to come. Here is a look at how the race shapes up here in late November:

We've got a 15-game slate before Thanksgiving! Of course, the NBA scheduling made sure to bring Anthony Davis back to New Orleans the day before Thanksgiving. It'll be an interesting night in New Orleans. The belief is that he'll hear many boos. But how mad can Pelicans fans be after drafting Zion Williamson and basically taking all of the quality young talent away from the Lakers?

We've got an awesome two game slate for Tuesday! At 8:30 the Clippers will play on the road against the red-hot Mavericks who are putting up some big offensive numbers recently. The Clippers are currently considered the best team in basketball. They're finally healthy and have a legitimate contending squad now.

We've got some pretty epic matchups in tonight's slate of NBA games, including the Raptors and 76ers game. We all remember what happened the last time these two teams met; but now things are different. Kawhi Leonard isn't a Raptor anymore, and the 76ers have added to their roster. This game should be fun, along with the other 10 games on the night's slate. So here we go…
NBA Load Management Creates New Era for Basketball Bettors
by Jason Radowitz - 11/18/2019
Before the 2017-18 NBA season, there was a major concern in the league with superstars sitting out during regular season games for rest. In the 2016-2017 season, the Warriors' top players, Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Andre Iguodala, took off a nationally televised game against the San Antonio Spurs in March. Furthermore, the Cleveland Cavaliers did the same thing when they sat Kyrie Irving, LeBron James, and Kevin Love against the Los Angeles Clippers in that same season. This sparked a lot of debate and controversy.
NBA Handicappers Need to Look Deep When Judging Star Player Moves
by Trevor Whenham - 6/18/2019
The trade of Anthony Davis to the Lakers will very likely be looked back upon as the beginning of a serious arms race in the NBA. With the Warriors now vulnerable, and the imaginations of owners fired up by the one-year overhaul that Toronto rode to a title, teams are going to be looking to make their move.
Expert Handicapping for the Anthony Davis Trade to the Lakers
by Trevor Whenham - 6/17/2019
The immediate impact of the trade that sent Anthony Davis to the Lakers is clear. Before the trade, the team was at +1000 to win the NBA title at BetOnline - a ridiculous price given the turmoil and uncertainty around them. Now they are the clear favorites at +350, ahead of Milwaukee at +700 and Houston at +900, with both recent NBA finalists at +1000.
Expert NBA Handicapping: San Antonio Surging Towards Playoffs
by Trevor Whenham - 3/25/2019
It has been, predictably, an often-rocky season for the San Antonio Spurs. Teams can't expect to stay the course when they lose their best player no matter what - never mind when that player is one of the very small handful of best players in the league. The team was under .500 as late as Dec. 9. They fell to an uninspiring 33-29 on Feb. 25.
Oklahoma City Thunder Tough Team to Read Heading into Postseason
by Trevor Whenham - 3/25/2019
The Oklahoma City Thunder are not in a good place right now. Right when they are supposed to be readying themselves for the playoffs, they have just slammed things into reverse. They are 5-10 in their last 15 games, and just have not looked very good. Four of the five wins have been against playoff teams, so there have been moments of strength, but they just have not been able to sustain it.
Free NBA Picks: Saturday, March 23, 2019, Opening Line Report and Handicapping
by Alan Matthews - 3/22/2019
Everyone assumes that Duke superstar freshman Zion Williamson will go No. 1 overall in the 2019 draft (wouldn't it be great if he returned to Duke?). That's probably going to happen. However, there might be one team that could think twice and actually might be somewhat relieved to be picking No. 2 instead of No. 1: the Phoenix Suns.
