Philadelphia 76ers Predictions for Struggling NBA Road Team
by Trevor Whenham - 1/16/2020
As the 2019-20 NBA season was about to start, Philadelphia 76ers' coach Brett Brown told anyone who would listen that his team was gunning for the top seed in the Eastern Conference this season. But if the season ended today, they wouldn't even open the playoffs at home. They sit in sixth place, and though they are within spitting distance of the Heat in second - trailing them by only three games - the Bucks would pretty much have to fold right now in order for the Sixers to catch them.

New Orleans Pelicans Predictions for Zion Williamson Debut
by Trevor Whenham - 1/15/2020
Duke's Zion Williamson was the highest-profile first overall pick since at least Anthony Davis. You might even have to go back as far as Greg Oden to see a guy who had so many people so excited. Oden's career didn't turn out as anyone hoped, and so far Williamson hasn't made any impact at all - unless you call a little bit of Summer League action an impact.
NBA Trade Deadline Predictions
by Trevor Whenham - 1/15/2020
The NBA trade deadline looms on February 6, so we are in the last month of the status quo in the league. Let's get this out of the way up front - this is set up to be a very dull trade deadline. With all due respect to Kevin Love and Andre Drummond, if they are the two biggest names on the block in all likelihood, then it's not much of a thrilling deadline. But any change can be the one that makes the difference, and there should still be plenty of movement even if it isn't spectacular.

We are, more or less, at the mid-point of the NBA season. As close to the end of the season as the beginning. There is still a whole lot of basketball left to play and a whole lot that we don't know. More than we know, really. But the sample size is large enough that we have a sense of which teams have been a pleasure to bet on and which really haven't. Here are the betting studs and duds of the first half of this season.
