PGA Props Picks: Cognizant Classic Predictions
by Mike Allen - 2/27/2024
Formerly known as the Honda Classic, the Cognizant Classic In The Palm Beaches is the first stop on the PGA Tour’s Florida Swing. We will be playing on a tremendously difficult golf course, the famed Champions Course at PGA National. Holes 15, 16, and 17 are aptly named The Bear Trap. It's made up of a couple of par 3s and a par 4. There will be even more golfers developing night terrors after their scorecards get completely wrecked just as they are about to wrap up their round. The Bear himself, Jack Nicklaus, wasn't an original designer of the course, but he has reworked it a few times over the years.
PGA Picks: The Genesis Invitational Expert Predictions and Golf Odds
by Matt Zitt - 2/13/2024
The recurring theme of the 2024 PGA season is the longshot. Last weekend, we saw another triple-digit underdog stand victorious at the Waste Management Phoenix Open. Nick Taylor sunk a putt in a playoff against Charley Hoffman for the victory. That makes six straight events to start the season with at least a 90-1 underdog holding the trophy on Sunday. Now we turn our attention back to the iconic Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, California, for The Genesis Invitational Open.
What does the PGA and LIV merger mean for the golf world in 2023 and beyond?
by Matt Zitt - 6/7/2023
The PGA Tour, the world’s most prestigious professional golf league, and LIV, a Saudi-funded startup whose emergence split the sport in two, have agreed to join forces. The deal is complicated, and numerous professional golfers have expressed their frustrations over social media. The agreement was negotiated in total secrecy over the past seven weeks until news broke on Tuesday. Jay Monahan, the PGA Tour Commissioner, stressed that there was only a framework agreement and not a definitive agreement, with many details still needing to be decided.

Expert Golf Handicapping: How to Wager on Tiger Woods Return to the Links
by Trevor Whenham - 12/8/2017
Tiger Woods is back in action. After a seemingly endless string of surgeries, false starts, and a stink of scandal that can't be washed off, he made it back to the golf course last week for the Hero World Challenge. And for three of the four rounds he looked pretty good. He blew up in the third round but then got right back on track in the final found to finish right in the middle of the pack in the small field. For bettors, our job now is to figure out what that means, and how to deal with him going forward.
2017 Masters Picks with Odds and Expert Golf Betting Predictions
by Alan Matthews - 4/4/2017
The final spot in the 2017 Masters field was claimed by American Russell Henley on Sunday when he shot a final-round 65 that included 10 birdies to win the Houston Open for his first PGA Tour victory since the 2014 Honda Classic (and third event overall). Henley, who was born in the Peach State and went to the University of Georgia, otherwise wouldn't have been making travel plans to Augusta. It marks the third time in the last four years that the winner at the Golf Club of Houston was not otherwise exempt for the season's first major. Henley played the Masters from 2013-15 but didn't qualify last year.
Tiger Woods 2017 Betting Props with Expert Betting Predictions
by Raphael Esparza - 10/17/2016
Last Thursday the 2016-17 PGA Tour Safeway Open in Napa, California, started and was missing one major name to the tournament, Tiger Woods. Woods highly-anticipated return to the PGA Tour was put on hold after he withdrew from the Safeway Open, citing concerns about the state of his game.
Olympic Men's Golf Predictions with Odds and Expert Betting Picks
by Victor Ryan - 8/9/2016
Much of the news in the lead-up was how Jason Day, Dustin Johnson, Jordan Speith and Rory McIlroy --the current top four in the World Golf Rankings--are all bypassing the Olympics. While that's certainly a disappointment, it by no means torpedoes the event. There is still a salty field lined up that should provide some interesting golf.
2016 Canadian Open Picks with Odds and Expert Betting Predictions
by Alan Matthews - 7/19/2016
This week the PGA Tour stays outside the United States and visits Glen Abbey Country Club in Oakville, Ontario, for the Canadian Open. As you would expect, most big names are not flying back across the pond to tee it up this week, but world No. 1 and defending champion Day and No. 2 Dustin Johnson are.
PGA Tour Picks: Northern Trust Open Odds and Expert Betting Predictions
by Alan Matthews - 2/16/2016
The West Coast Swing concludes this week with the best field of the year thus far, thanks to most of the top Europeans coming over, for the Northern Trust Open at storied Riviera Country Club outside Los Angeles. Riviera, known as "Hogan's Alley," was the toughest par 71 on Tour last year with a scoring average of 72.592. The Top 50 in the world rankings after this event automatically qualify for next month's WGC-Cadillac Championship at Trump Doral.
Rory McIlroy Odds to Win The Masters with Picks and Expert Predictions
by George Monroy - 3/25/2015
The golf world has waited for two things to happen over the last half decade: for Tiger Woods to regain his other-worldly form and continue his assault on Jack Nicklaus’ record 18 majors and for Rory McIlroy to finally take his spot as the sport’s next transcendent player and begin his own assault on the all-time greats. For Woods, that hope may have already been lost, as most reasonable expectations for the golf legend center around him winning one more major and getting to 15 before is career is complete.
PGA Tour Picks: AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am Odds and Predictions
by Alan Matthews - 2/11/2015
I had my eyes on an Australian to win last week's Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines, but unfortunately I was pondering Marc Leishman instead of Jason Day. And it was Day, who went off as the 14/1 second-favorite at Bovada, who won the event in a four-man playoff.
Sports Betting Insights: The Best Ways to Bet on the US Open
by Dave Schwab - 6/10/2014
Professional golf’s second major of the season kicks things off this Thursday with the start of the US Open at Pinehurst No. 2. This four-round event is set up by the USGA, and it is often thought of as the most difficult test of golf that the top players in the world will face all season long. Just to make things a bit more interesting, if there is a tie at the end of 72 holes of competition on Sunday afternoon, the golfers that are tied for the lowest total score will then have to compete in an 18-hole playoff on Monday.
PGA Tour Golf Prop Bets: Odds to Win a 2014 Major
by George Monroy - 5/14/2014
Bubba Watson took home the first major of the year with a thrilling performance at Augusta National during the Masters back in April. The 35-year-old pro will be looking to become the first player to win multiple majors in the same year since 2008, when the 2014 US Open rolls around in June.
Dustin Johnson Odds to Win the 2014 Masters with Picks and Predictions
by George Monroy - 3/25/2014
Dustin Johnson, the 29-year-old golfer, has the most Top-5 finishes on the PGA Tour over the last two seasons with eight, but he has yet to break through and win a major during his seven-year career as a professional. Johnson has a Top-15 finish in all four of the year’s most prestigious tournaments since 2010 and came agonizingly close during The Open Championship in 2011 with a second-place finish.
Bubba Watson Odds to Win the 2014 Masters with Picks and Predictions
by George Monroy - 3/25/2014
Bubba Watson may be getting that eerie feeling of dйjа vu heading into the 2014 Masters. The former green jacket winner is coming off a second-place finish at the Cadillac Championship in early March—the same event he earned a runner-up finish in 2012 before winning his first and only major less than a month later. The 35-year-old pro is probably hoping that the stars are beginning to align after a tough end of 2012 and 2013 seasons.
Phil Mickelson Odds to Win the 2014 Masters with Picks and Predictions
by George Monroy - 3/13/2014
Phil Mickelson, the 43-year-old golfer, is three months away from turning 44 and nearly four years removed from his last Masters win in 2010. Mickelson, one of the game’s greatest golfers, has three green jackets tucked away in his closet somewhere—the most of any player not name Jack, Tiger or Arnold—but must look around the golfing landscape and notice the changing of the guard.
Adam Scott Odds to Win the 2014 Masters with Picks and Predictions
by George Monroy - 3/13/2014
Adam Scott, the former Green Jacket winner, has his eyes firmly set on becoming the No.1 ranked golfer in the world. Scott had a chance to overtake the current No. 1, Tiger Woods, for the top spot in the rankings but failed to gain any traction during the Cadillac Championship at Doral in early March. Scott, however, will have another chance in April when one of the most prestigious tournaments on the tour, the Masters, begins in a few short weeks.
Jason Day Odds to Win the 2014 Masters with Picks and Predictions
by George Monroy - 3/13/2014
Australian golfer Jason Day is still less than a month removed from his Match Play victory in Arizona in mid February, and he is entering the Masters tournament as the No.4 golfer in the world. The 26-year-old, however, is still dealing with a thumb injury that could affect his play next month during the first, and perhaps most prestigious, major of the year.
