Expert College Football Picks: Louisville at Houston Odds and Betting Predictions
by Trevor Whenham - 11/16/2016
A couple of months ago this loomed as potentially the game of the year. Houston had beaten Oklahoma and seemed all but certain to roll over everyone en route to this game. Louisville was scoring at will with a Heisman lock at QB. It seemed like this game was set up as essentially a playoff quarterfinal - the winner would be undefeated and in the driver's seat for a playoff berth.

The Sooners threw away their season - at least from a national title perspective - almost before it started. Losing to Houston was a big blow, and losing to Ohio State was fatal. It all could have been an excuse to pout and ruin the rest of their season. Instead, they renewed their focus and have been dominant through Big 12 play. They have won all seven conference games and were only really tested a couple of times. It has been exactly what was expected of them entering the season - it just came three games too late.
Free College Football Picks: Washington State at Colorado Odds and Expert Predictions
by Trevor Whenham - 11/16/2016
This is a battle of divisional leaders in the Pac-12. That is so bizarre that I know it's true, but I still can't believe what I am writing. It just seems so impossible. Their leads are not very secure, though. Colorado has a game on USC, but they already lost to the Trojans, so they have to stay ahead of USC or they will lose the tiebreaker. Washington State has the same one-game lead on Washington, but they have a big game with that rival - the Apple Cup - looming next weekend. That makes this game more important for Colorado than Washington State.
NCAA Football Predictions: Week 12 Opening Line Report and Picks
by Alan Matthews - 11/14/2016
Well, that was interesting! Week 11 around college football looked like it should go chalk for all the top national championship contenders. Alabama, the No. 1 team in the College Football Playoff rankings, did its job as a 28.5-point home favorite against Mississippi State, blowing out the Bulldogs 51-3. But all heck broke lose behind the Tide.
NCAA Football Betting Odds: Week 11 Line Movements & Last-Minute News
by Alan Matthews - 11/11/2016
The Big 12 almost surely is going to miss the College Football Playoff for the second time in three years. The Pac-12 is going to miss the playoff for the second straight season should No. 4 Washington lose at home to No. 20 USC on Saturday night in the most important game of Week 11. A UW loss opens the door for the ACC or Big Ten to potentially get two teams into the playoff.
NCAA Football Betting: Fading the Top 25 Weekly Free Picks - Week 11
by Aaron Smith - 11/11/2016
Your Week 11 Fading the Top 25 Weekly Free Picks article is all set. The Top 25 overall went 12-12 against the spread last week. The top seven teams went 6-1 ATS last week. Unfortunately, I had faded two of those top seven teams in the selections from last week.
Weekly Big Ten Betting Report: Expert Predictions and Analysis
by Chris Vasile - 11/11/2016
Week 10 of the college football season is in the books, and the result that has most people taking notice is the beatdown Iowa suffered at the hands of Penn State. The No.12 Nittany Lions were able to impose their will early and often against a Hawkeyes team that struggled mightily to move the ball. They were outgained 599-234 and could rack up only 30 rushing yards. As usual, the Nittany Lions were led by running back Saquon Barkley.
NCAA Football Mid-Major Free Betting Picks: Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders Week 11 Predictions
by Aaron Smith - 11/10/2016
The Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders suffered two big losses last weekend. They lost 45-25 at home as a three-touchdown favorite to UTSA. Still, the even bigger loss was losing star quarterback Brent Stockstill to an injury. Stockstill is out the rest of the regular season with a broken collarbone. How will the team respond to losing their star signal caller? It remains to be seen.
Free NCAA Football Picks: USC at Washington Odds and Expert Betting Predictions
by Trevor Whenham - 11/8/2016
This game has ridden a rollercoaster - and it hasn't even been played yet. Before the season this one stood out on the schedule as a big one - one that could define the race for the conference and maybe more. Then, as USC completely forgot how to play football early in the season, it seemed like the game meant nothing.
College Football Betting Advice and Expert Handicapping: Coaching Changes
by Trevor Whenham - 11/8/2016
We are getting into the most interesting stretch of the college football season - both in terms of the hunt for titles and the hunt for coaching salvation. Teams that are struggling are getting ready to make a coaching change. Lower-tier teams with hot coaches, meanwhile, are faced with the reality that they too could be on the verge of a coaching change they wish they didn't have to make. Whatever the situation, these teams can face major distractions down the stretch - and that has the potential to affect their ability to cover spreads.
NCAA Football Predictions: Week 11 Opening Line Report and Picks
by Alan Matthews - 11/7/2016
So forget about the SEC becoming the first conference to land two teams in the College Football Playoff. There was a lot of handwringing last week when the first CFP rankings were released and one-loss Texas A&M was at No. 4, one spot ahead of unbeaten Washington, the Pac-12 favorite. But I wrote that the Huskies had nothing to worry about as if they just took care of business, they would be in the Top 4 by the end.
Free College Football Picks: Wake Forest at Louisville Odds and Predictions
by Trevor Whenham - 11/7/2016
It has to be a very frustrating time to be a Louisville player or fan. They are in the midst of a great season, but because they lost to Clemson by the narrowest of margins they have lost all control of their own destiny. They could very easily win the rest of their games and yet not get one of the four coveted spots in the playoff.
Expert College Football Picks: Baylor at Oklahoma Odds and Betting Predictions
by Trevor Whenham - 11/7/2016
Heading into the season it sure felt like Baylor could be heading towards a lost season with all of the turmoil, departures and distractions that the summer had involved. As it turned out, though, winning was a short-term remedy for the woes, and it wasn't until the team lost their first game that things quickly turned to feeling lost.
NCAA Football Betting Odds: Week 10 Line Movements & Last-Minute News
by Alan Matthews - 11/4/2016
Do I think there's a bit of a West Coast bias in the college football media? I do. That's because most media types don't even watch most of those games that start at 9 p.m. ET time or later out West. I do this for a living, and I find it hard at times to keep up with all those late games after a full day of college football (and perhaps adult beverages at times). So basically, the media and coaches who vote in polls generally just go by the eye test (i.e. final scores) instead of doing actual homework.
NCAA Football Betting: Fading the Top 25 Weekly Free Picks - Week 10
by Aaron Smith - 11/3/2016
The Fading the Top 25 Weekly Free Picks article for Week 10 is ready to go. If you were fading the Top 25 in Week 9, you made a lot of money! Five teams in the Top 25 were on a bye, and the rest of the teams went 7-13 against the spread.
Weekly Big Ten Betting Report: Expert Predictions and Analysis
by Chris Vasile - 11/3/2016
Week 9 of the College Football season is in the books, and the Big Ten game everyone is talking about happened in Madison, Wisconsin. The No.11 Badgers knocked off No.8 Nebraska in overtime by a score of 23-17. With that loss, Nebraska's spot in the Big Ten title game is now up in the air as there are four teams currently one game back of the division lead. The Cornhuskers also dropped two spots to No.9 in the AP Poll, one spot behind No.8 Wisconsin, who jumped up from No.11.
NCAA Football Mid-Major Free Betting Picks: Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders Week 10 Predictions
by Aaron Smith - 11/2/2016
It's time for Week 10 of the college football mid-major betting report. How is it already Week 10? It seems like the football season flies by every year. We've reached the month of November. Weather could start playing a bigger role in games from now through the rest of the year. MTSU kept their momentum from the win at Missouri going last weekend, and now the Blue Raiders look to close out the last four weeks of the season with a bang.
NCAA Football Predictions: Week 10 Opening Line Report and Picks
by Alan Matthews - 10/31/2016
You can go ahead and start ignoring the Associated Press and USA Today Coaches Top 25 polls starting this week. That's because the first College Football Playoff rankings will be out Tuesday night, and those are all that matter in terms of finding out which teams will make the national semifinals and a New Year's Six bowl game.
Free NCAA Football Picks: Nebraska at Ohio State Odds and Expert Predictions
by Trevor Whenham - 10/31/2016
The stakes here are very high for both teams. Neither can afford a second loss here. Nebraska lost in overtime at Wisconsin last week, but they still have a lead in the division - that was their first loss and Wisconsin has lost to Michigan and Ohio State. That means that Nebraska is fine as long as they stay ahead of Wisconsin, but as soon as they match the Badgers in losses they will lose the tiebreak and will find it very tough to make the Big Ten Championship Game.
Expert College Football Picks: Maryland at Michigan Odds and Betting Predictions
by Trevor Whenham - 10/31/2016
Undefeated teams fell in bulk on Saturday, but nothing at all changed for unbeaten Michigan. Before Saturday's game at Michigan State they controlled their own destiny - keep winning and they are a playoff team. They won, and they are still assured of a playoff spot as long as they keep on rolling. It wasn't as stylish a win as might have been ideal, but they beat up a rival they have been cursed against lately, and that's all that matters. And they stayed healthy - a crucial thing as the season ages.
