USC Trojans at Notre Dame Fighting Irish Expert Picks with Odds and Betting Predictions
by Trevor Whenham - 10/18/2017
This is one of the iconic rivalries in college football, but due to the struggles of one or both teams at times over the last few years this is the first time it has really mattered in too long. Each team has just one loss, both are ranked in the Top 16, and a win here is going to be a big boost to the postseason chances of either squad. This is a must-win game for both programs, which is exactly what games like this should be.
NCAA Football Mid-Major Free Betting Picks: Marshall Thundering Herd Week 8

The Week 8 edition of the mid-major betting report is here This is the seventh straight season I'm doing the mid-major report for Doc's Sports. How have the selections on the mid-major betting report done? Overall, the record is 40 wins and 29 losses with a gain of $1,500.
Michigan Wolverines at Penn State Nittany Lions Expert Picks and Betting Predictions
by Trevor Whenham - 10/18/2017
Going to the dentist. Being audited. Hanging out with an ex. Bathing in battery acid. Those are all things I could be more excited about than I am about watching Michigan play at Penn State. If you have read my stuff over the years then you know I live and breathe the Wolverines. It pains me, then, to state a harsh truth - we aren't good. In fact, in a key way we are really bad. And this is the game which, in all likelihood, is going to expose that. Last year Michigan beat Penn State 49-10. It turned Penn State's season around entirely, and they went on to win the conference.
Syracuse Orange at Miami Hurricanes Expert College Football Picks and Odds
by Trevor Whenham - 10/18/2017
As everyone obviously predicted, Syracuse beat Clemson last week to make this game dramatically more interesting. I'm kidding, of course - Clemson's loss in that barn of a dome goes down as perhaps the most surprising result of the college football season to date. And now we are faced with figuring out if they can possibly do it again. Miami has everything on the line here. With the Clemson loss, chances are better than ever that Miami can avoid playing the potent Tigers in the ACC Championship Game, but before they can worry about that the Hurricanes have to keep winning to get into the game. A game that was totally meaningless a week ago now has intrigued attached.
NCAA Football Betting Advice: Fading the Top 25 Weekly Free Picks
by Aaron Smith - 10/18/2017
It was a role reversal for the Top 25 last weekend. Things had been rolling right along smoothly with the Top 25 consistently covering the spread at a high rate. Then last weekend's madness hit and four of the Top 10 teams in the country lost outright. It was a weekend that shook up the rankings in a big way. The Top 25 went 8-13 against the spread overall last weekend as well, and they are almost down to .500 ATS for the season.
Free Big Ten Football Picks: Weekly Conference Analysis with Odds and Predictions
by Chris Vasile - 10/17/2017
I simply cannot remember a week in college football like we just witnessed this past weekend. Week 6 provided underdog bettors with ample opportunity to make some serious coin as seven teams inside the AP Top 25 lost outright, including four teams ranked inside the Top 10. The upsets began on unlucky Friday the 13th with the second- and eighth-ranked teams dropping conference road games. The carnage continued through Saturday as No.5 Washington couldn't muster up more than a single touchdown against Arizona State.
NCAA Football Predictions: Week 8 Opening Line Report and Picks
by Alan Matthews - 10/16/2017
OK, so I was expecting a rather blah college football weekend. For the first time since November 2009, there were no ranked teams playing each other in a post-September weekend. So, of course, four Top-10 teams were upset by unranked foes: No. 2 Clemson fell Friday night at Syracuse, 27-24; No. 8 Washington State also lost on Friday, 37-3 at Cal; No. 5 Washington lost at Arizona State, 13-7; and No. 10 Auburn fell at LSU, 27-23.
NCAA Football Betting Odds: Week 7 Line Movements & Last-Minute News

Good news for those coaches - be they very successful FCS guys, lower-level FBS coaches or current Division I assistants - looking to break into a Power 5 program: There's already an opening. Unfortunately, it's at one of the worst programs in the Power 5: Oregon State. I never understood why Gary Andersen left a great job at Wisconsin after back-to-back strong seasons in 2013-14 to head to Corvallis - other than Andersen is more of a western guy with his background.
Navy Midshipmen at Memphis Tigers Expert Picks with Odds and Betting Predictions
by Trevor Whenham - 10/12/2017
I don't typically preview a lot of AAC conference games. But then it's not too often that we get a game as exciting as this one has the potential to be - in this or any conference. We have the perfect recipe here for fireworks. Both teams have offenses that have the ability to be scary good. Each has a defense that is both underwhelming and not very well matched up with their opposition. Navy, which is undefeated, is coming off a win in which they scored 48 points. Memphis scored more than that in the first three quarters of their last game and wound up with a jaw-dropping 70 points against UConn. This one is going to be a whole lot of fun.
TCU Horned Frogs at Kansas State Wildcats Expert Picks with Odds and Predictions
by Robert Ferringo - 10/11/2017
If I've said it once I've said it $100 times: Bill Snyder is a god damn national treasure. And I really can't say it enough because Snyder is one of the best coaches in college football history. Not only that, but Snyder has been one of the best moneymakers in the sport during his time in Manhattan. And now Snyder has a chance to claim another major scalp and add to his legendary resume when another Top 10 team rolls into town this weekend.
Oklahoma Sooners vs. Texas Longhorns Expert Picks with Odds and Betting Predictions
by Trevor Whenham - 10/11/2017
This game gets the attention here and in the media generally because of the reputation and the history. It has been a great spectacle and a greater rivalry over the years. In recent years, though, it has been a letdown. And while there are some reasons for hope this year, the last week has dulled things somewhat.
Utah Utes at USC Trojans Expert Betting Picks with Odds and Predictions
by Trevor Whenham - 10/11/2017
USC came into this season burdened with almost impossibly high expectations. After years of struggles pretty much since the Pete Carroll era ended, people were so hungry for the Trojans to be a big factor again that they crowned them before they proved worthy of the attention. People expected them to be a playoff team and had basically given Sam Darnold the Heisman.
NCAA Football Mid-Major Free Betting Picks: Marshall Thundering Herd Week 7

It's time for the seventh edition of the mid-major betting report. This is the seventh straight season I'm doing the mid-major report for Doc's Sports. How have the selections on the mid-major betting report done? Overall, the record is 40 wins and 29 losses with a gain of $1,500.
NCAA Football Betting Advice: Fading the Top 25 Weekly Free Picks
by Aaron Smith - 10/11/2017
Oklahoma lost to Iowa State in a stunner, so you might think it was a good week to go against the teams near the top of the rankings. However, overall the top teams did well against the spread in week six. The Top 25 went 13-8 ATS. That's the third straight week the Top 25 has covered at a high rate. It's making it tougher to fade the top teams right now. Let's see if this turns in the coming weeks.
NCAA Football Predictions: Week 7 Opening Line Report and Picks
by Alan Matthews - 10/9/2017
Is Michigan's Jim Harbaugh a good coach? No question. Would the vast majority of schools want him over their current coach? Certainly. But is Harbaugh also a tad overrated? I think that's fair to say. The Wolverines' national title hopes might be gone after they were upset 14-10 at home by Michigan State on Saturday, dropping Harbaugh to 1-4 against U-M's two main rivals in the Spartans and Ohio State.
NCAA Football Betting Odds: Week 6 Line Movements & Last-Minute News
by Alan Matthews - 10/6/2017
It seems every NCAA story I write revolves around coaches on the hot seat in the SEC, but you have to go where the news is. In my Week 6 Opening Line Report on Monday, I mentioned that BetOnline had a prop up on the next coach at Tennessee - presuming Butch Jones is fired after this disappointing season.
NCAA Football Mid-Major Free Betting Picks: Marshall Thundering Herd Week 6

It's time for the sixth edition of the college football mid-major betting report. Let's get back to focusing on Marshall football once again. This is the seventh straight season I'm doing the mid-major report for Doc's Sports. How have the selections on the mid-major betting report done? Overall, the record is 40 wins and 29 losses with a gain of $1,500.
Free NCAA Football Picks Week 6: Under-the-Radar Matchups Provide Great Betting Profits
by Chris Vasile - 10/5/2017
As the calendar flips to October, fans and bettors of college football don't have to wait very long to get their fix in after the weekend card. Last night, Arkansas State and Georgia Southern played in the first Wednesday game of the year, and it had everything a fan could want - tons of yards, a boatload of points and a cover by the favorite. If you thought that game was high-scoring, wait till you see tonight's lone college game between the No. 17 Louisville Cardinals and the No. 24 North Carolina State Wolfpack. The Cardinals are currently three-point road favorite with the total set at 65.5. I believe this game will be much closer than last year's meeting, which ended in a 54-13 blowout for Louisville.
Washington State Cougars at Oregon Ducks Expert Picks with Odds and Predictions
by Robert Ferringo - 10/4/2017
While Oregon is licking its wounds, Washington State is flying high. I know it is generally the other way around with ducks and cougars - especially THESE Ducks and Cougars - but that's how backwards things have gotten between these programs over the past several years. No. 11 Washington State heads to Autzen Stadium to take on Oregon at 8 p.m. on Saturday in a key Pac-12 North clash. The Cougars are a slim two-point favorite and the total is set at 61.5.
West Virginia Mountaineers at TCU Horned Frogs Expert Picks and Betting Predictions
by Trevor Whenham - 10/4/2017
This is one of just two games on the fairly lackluster schedule of games this week that features two ranked teams. But the teams are in different places. TCU has gotten off to a stellar start, and voters are impressed - they sit eighth in the country. West Virginia, meanwhile, has a loss and is clinging to one of the last spots in the Top 25 - they sit 23rd and have no margin for error remaining. Both teams won their first conference game, so they can get a statement win here in the pursuit of a berth in the first Big 12 title game. Which team will rise up and seize that opportunity?
