NCAA Football Predictions: Week 13 Report, Best Bets and Picks

I don’t know about you guys, but this weekend was a great football weekend for me. Let’s start off with a quick recap of our picks from last week. We were able to cash in big time on two out of our three predictions from week 12. Washington State covered their -3.5 spread, as they shut the door on Jayden de Laura.

Last week was one hell of a week in college football. As we know, I'm very persistent on backing TCU this season as they have been stellar on both sides of the ball. Going into the match-up against Texas, TCU was a 7.5-point underdog and came out with an upset victory. If I hadn’t been sick last week, this game would have been one of the games that I would have given you guys to take, as TCU is very underrated and people haven't given them enough credit due to the various backup quarterbacks that they have faced.

Let’s start by giving a small recap on our picks from last week. We had an even split as TCU and Ole Miss covered. Sadly, South Carolina and USC couldn’t get the job done. It was embarrassing for South Carolina, as Missouri had their way with them on the field. Not only did they fail to cover, but they were upset by 13 points. College Football can be so unpredictable sometimes, and that was one of those moments.

Let’s quickly review the previous week of college football. This was the first time in six years that the top six teams in the AP25 held their ranking after either winning or not playing a game. That’s impressive as we have seen how volatile these rankings can be. There weren’t many surprises this weekend. The weekend’s biggest upset had to be LSU dominating Ole Miss, 45 -20.

From our picks from week 7, we cashed out only on Tennessee’s spread as they upset Alabama, 52-49, which ended up with the fans storming the field. This knocked Alabama down to sixth in the rankings, which has been its lowest ranking in years. TCU ended up winning their game up in overtime but failed to cover the -3.5 spread, as they won by a field goal.

Last week of college football went well for us. We hit on two of our three picks. Texas blew out Oklahoma, TCU covered against Kansas, but Alabama didn’t cover against Texas A&M. That Alabama spread pick was kind of a reach as we were playing the hot hand against a mediocre team. Alabama did come out with a win, but they struggled to score at the rate they usually do.

Let’s look for this college football Week 6 to be an exciting one. There are so many juicy matchups that people are just salivating over. We have major rivalry matchups, as there are well over a handful of teams that remain undefeated in this new season. We will see if they will continue the quest for the perfect season or will reality strike this weekend.

The first third of the regular season of college football is in the books, as this Saturday is Oct. 1. The first three college football teams in the rankings are the Georgia Bulldogs, Alabama Crimson Tide and Ohio State Buckeyes. According to ESPN’s Power Index, those three teams have a minimum 24.2% opportunity to win the rest of their games.

Week 3 in College Football was exciting to watch. There were some spreads that were covered that I couldn’t wrap my head around. I always remind myself that these college guys are still kids themselves. Kansas State had a huge upset over Oklahoma, Oregon State almost upset an extremely hyped USC team, and a ranked Kentucky team played a close game with a Northern Illinois team who had no business keeping up with the Wildcats. Everything else looked ordinary to me.

What a wild Week 2 in college football. So many upsets and close matchups. Two Top 10 teams got upset, Texas nearly pulled off one of the best upsets in recent college football history, and Marshall Football was trending on Twitter. Let’s review our picks from last week and go from there. Our first pick of “Cam’s College 3 Best Bets” was Florida to cover their -4.5 spread or just outright win. We missed the target here with Kentucky upsetting the Gators 26-16 in a low scoring affair.

The 2022 college football season in the Atlantic Coast Conference will see the Clemson Tigers attempting to hold off all the legitimate contenders for the title. The Tigers (-130) are the odds-on favorites to win. However, the Miami Hurricanes (+350), the North Carolina State Wolfpack (+600) and the Pittsburgh Panthers (+900) might have something to say in that situation.

Week 1 of college football has officially happened. This Thursday the NFL kicks off, and what a time of year it is -- some may say it’s better than Christmas! Last week we had some surprising and great games; Old Dominion stunned Virginia Tech, 20-17, Ohio State vs Notre Dame brought every celebrity out to the sidelines, including Lebron James and Joe Burrow, for a 21-10 Buckeyes win. To review our picks last week, we went 1/3 on “Cams College 3 Best Bet,” but we plan to do better this week.

College football is officially underway. With Week 0 wrapped up, we are officially ready for the “real deal’ come the Sept. 1. Saturday had no Top 25 teams playing but had some interesting games. The Huskers had yet another single-digit loss under Scott Frost, Florida State killed Duquesne, and Vanderbilt put up 63 vs Hawaii’s 10. Other games had wide margin scoring, and only the die-hard college football fans would have tuned into those games.

The last 3 seasons have been phenomenal for the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns, securing three bowl victories and two Sun Belt titles. Last season we saw Louisiana dominate with a 13-1 record, and new head coach Michael Desormeaux gracefully acquires 11 returning starters from that 13-win team. This season sets out to be a challenging one, though, as the Ragin’ Cajuns lose QB Levi Lewis, along with the Sun Belt being tougher and bigger than ever this year.

Top Contenders for College Football Futures

The top the 2022 college football futures list features the Alabama Crimson Tide, Ohio State Buckeyes and Georgia Bulldogs. However, all of these programs did lose some beneficial players to the NFL. That is why the Clemson Tigers, USC Trojans and Texas A&M Aggies are close in the rankings.

2022 Houston Cougars Football Predictions and Betting Odds

Houston really turned it around in 2021, going 12-2 and winning 11 straight after losing the season opener to Texas Tech. With key players returning, like quarterback Clayton Tune and wide receiver Nathaniel Dell, in 2022, the Cougars could repeat last year’s success. A big factor to that success was Houston’s defense.

2022 BYU Cougars Football Predictions and Betting Odds

This will be BYU’s last season as an FBS independent before joining the Big 12. This year still comes with challenging matchups, highlighted by four Power 5 opponents plus a battle vs Notre Dame. Midseason injuries in 2021 really derailed BYU, leading to losses vs Boise State and Baylor. This year they come in healthier, with more depth, more weapons/options and just overall more talent to make a big statement before the big move. With 21 wins over the last two seasons, the Cougars have enjoyed true success even without a conference championship to play for. Eighteen out of 22 starters are returning this year, and expectations are high. It’s time for greatness.

2022 Arkansas Razorbacks Football Predictions and Betting Odds

For a program that hasn’t won more than eight games since 2011, the Razorbacks had a solid year in 2021, winning nine games behind great line play, defense, and high IQ football. After winning only three games in 2020, last year looked like a step in the right direction. Being an SEC team without a Hollywood head coach and no national superstar, Arkansas got the job done. They look to continue that momentum going into the 2022 season.

The NC State Wolfpack have never managed to get over the bump and make a true run in college football’s postseason; they’ve also never had a playoff berth. They’ve had tons of success and bowl nominations (seven), and even last season they were one of the best “not known” teams in college football -- two out of their three losses were on the road by a total of 4 points.

2022 Kentucky Wildcats Football Predictions and Betting Odds

Kentucky finally seems to be a “football” school. Last season’s Citrus Bowl winners play in the best conference in college football and have earned two 10-win seasons in the past four years. They may not be a National Championship caliber team/program just yet, but they may be on their way behind coach Mark Stoops. With new additions on both sides of the ball, and QB Will Levis, a possible first-round NFL Draft pick in the future, returning, the Wildcats have fairly high, but reasonable, expectations this coming season.
