NCAA Football Predictions: Week 13 Opening Line Report and Picks
by Alan Matthews - 11/21/2016
Can't believe how fast the 2016 college football season has flown by as this is the final full weekend of the year, and that means some of the sport's best rivalries are being played. Yet the biggest story around the nation today is that of Charlie Strong.
Free College Football Picks: Michigan at Ohio State Odds and Expert Predictions
by Trevor Whenham - 11/21/2016
This is what this rivalry is supposed to be all about - one game that will determine not only the state of the Big Ten but also will play prominently into the national title picture. A truly epic matchup. It's about time, too. Thanks to the struggles of the Rodriguez and Hoke years, Michigan has not done their part to make this game much of a game at all over the last several years. Now, though, it feels like a battle of titans again for the first time in almost a decade.
Free NCAA Football Picks: Washington at Washington State Odds and Predictions
by Trevor Whenham - 11/21/2016
It is absolutely amazing how far the Apple Cup has come in such a short time. One of the more storied rivalries in college football - this rivalry contest has been played 108 times since 1900 - was basically unwatchable not too long ago. In 2008 Washington State was 1-10 heading into the game in which they beat a winless Washington team in double overtime.
Expert College Football Picks: Auburn at Alabama Odds and Betting Predictions
by Trevor Whenham - 11/21/2016
In this year's Iron Bowl we have a fairly compelling matchup handicapped by one unavoidable fact - the game is basically meaningless. Alabama has already clinched their division and will in all likelihood crush Florida in the SEC Championship Game. Winning the SEC with the accomplishments they have this season would guarantee them a spot in the playoffs regardless of whether they win this game or not. Auburn is ranked 16th in both polls, but they already have three losses, so while a win over Alabama would impress some and improve their bowl positioning somewhat, they aren't playing in a truly major bowl regardless.
NCAA Football Betting Odds: Week 12 Line Movements & Last-Minute News
by Alan Matthews - 11/18/2016
The new College Football Rankings on Tuesday night -- delayed two hours by ESPN so it didn't suck away viewers from a Michigan State vs. Kentucky basketball game -- were interesting but really didn't change things all that much. Alabama remained No. 1, and that is not a shock whatsoever. I think the Tide are in the playoff even if they lose next week in the Iron Bowl to Auburn or in the SEC Championship Game to either Florida or Tennessee. Obviously not if the Tide lose both, but that's not happening.
NCAA Football Mid-Major Free Betting Picks: Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders Week 12 Predictions
by Aaron Smith - 11/18/2016
I said in last week's article that the MTSU game at Marshall would be very telling because we needed to see how MTSU would respond to Brent Stockstill being out of the lineup. It wasn't pretty. MTSU was dominated by a Marshall team that hasn't been good at all this season. The Blue Raiders need to bounce back.
NCAA Football Betting: Fading the Top 25 Weekly Free Picks - Week 12
by Aaron Smith - 11/18/2016
The Week 12 edition of the Fading the Top 25 Weekly Free Picks article is set. I'm not going to lie, when I realized that five of the Top 10 teams in the AP Top 25 lost outright last week and yet the selections in this article went 0-3, I was pretty ticked off. I feel slightly, and I do mean slightly, better when I see that the overall Top 25 teams did go 13-11-1 against the spread last weekend.
Weekly Big Ten Betting Report: Expert Predictions and Analysis
by Chris Vasile - 11/17/2016
Week 11 of the college football season is in the books, and it was nothing short of crazy. As you know by now, the Nos. 2, 3 and 4 teams in the country all suffered defeats, which shook up the College Football Playoff landscape. Given that this is a Big Ten Report, the most critical defeat was Michigan's stunning loss to Iowa. They remain in the CFP for the time being, but their Big Ten Title chances are now on life support.
Expert College Football Picks: Louisville at Houston Odds and Betting Predictions
by Trevor Whenham - 11/16/2016
A couple of months ago this loomed as potentially the game of the year. Houston had beaten Oklahoma and seemed all but certain to roll over everyone en route to this game. Louisville was scoring at will with a Heisman lock at QB. It seemed like this game was set up as essentially a playoff quarterfinal - the winner would be undefeated and in the driver's seat for a playoff berth.
Free NCAA Football Picks: Oklahoma at West Virginia Odds and Expert Predictions
by Trevor Whenham - 11/16/2016
The Sooners threw away their season - at least from a national title perspective - almost before it started. Losing to Houston was a big blow, and losing to Ohio State was fatal. It all could have been an excuse to pout and ruin the rest of their season. Instead, they renewed their focus and have been dominant through Big 12 play. They have won all seven conference games and were only really tested a couple of times. It has been exactly what was expected of them entering the season - it just came three games too late.
Free College Football Picks: Washington State at Colorado Odds and Expert Predictions
by Trevor Whenham - 11/16/2016
This is a battle of divisional leaders in the Pac-12. That is so bizarre that I know it's true, but I still can't believe what I am writing. It just seems so impossible. Their leads are not very secure, though. Colorado has a game on USC, but they already lost to the Trojans, so they have to stay ahead of USC or they will lose the tiebreaker. Washington State has the same one-game lead on Washington, but they have a big game with that rival - the Apple Cup - looming next weekend. That makes this game more important for Colorado than Washington State.
NCAA Football Predictions: Week 12 Opening Line Report and Picks
by Alan Matthews - 11/14/2016
Well, that was interesting! Week 11 around college football looked like it should go chalk for all the top national championship contenders. Alabama, the No. 1 team in the College Football Playoff rankings, did its job as a 28.5-point home favorite against Mississippi State, blowing out the Bulldogs 51-3. But all heck broke lose behind the Tide.
NCAA Football Betting Odds: Week 11 Line Movements & Last-Minute News
by Alan Matthews - 11/11/2016
The Big 12 almost surely is going to miss the College Football Playoff for the second time in three years. The Pac-12 is going to miss the playoff for the second straight season should No. 4 Washington lose at home to No. 20 USC on Saturday night in the most important game of Week 11. A UW loss opens the door for the ACC or Big Ten to potentially get two teams into the playoff.
NCAA Football Betting: Fading the Top 25 Weekly Free Picks - Week 11
by Aaron Smith - 11/11/2016
Your Week 11 Fading the Top 25 Weekly Free Picks article is all set. The Top 25 overall went 12-12 against the spread last week. The top seven teams went 6-1 ATS last week. Unfortunately, I had faded two of those top seven teams in the selections from last week.
Weekly Big Ten Betting Report: Expert Predictions and Analysis
by Chris Vasile - 11/11/2016
Week 10 of the college football season is in the books, and the result that has most people taking notice is the beatdown Iowa suffered at the hands of Penn State. The No.12 Nittany Lions were able to impose their will early and often against a Hawkeyes team that struggled mightily to move the ball. They were outgained 599-234 and could rack up only 30 rushing yards. As usual, the Nittany Lions were led by running back Saquon Barkley.
NCAA Football Mid-Major Free Betting Picks: Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders Week 11 Predictions
by Aaron Smith - 11/10/2016
The Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders suffered two big losses last weekend. They lost 45-25 at home as a three-touchdown favorite to UTSA. Still, the even bigger loss was losing star quarterback Brent Stockstill to an injury. Stockstill is out the rest of the regular season with a broken collarbone. How will the team respond to losing their star signal caller? It remains to be seen.
Free NCAA Football Picks: USC at Washington Odds and Expert Betting Predictions
by Trevor Whenham - 11/8/2016
This game has ridden a rollercoaster - and it hasn't even been played yet. Before the season this one stood out on the schedule as a big one - one that could define the race for the conference and maybe more. Then, as USC completely forgot how to play football early in the season, it seemed like the game meant nothing.
College Football Betting Advice and Expert Handicapping: Coaching Changes
by Trevor Whenham - 11/8/2016
We are getting into the most interesting stretch of the college football season - both in terms of the hunt for titles and the hunt for coaching salvation. Teams that are struggling are getting ready to make a coaching change. Lower-tier teams with hot coaches, meanwhile, are faced with the reality that they too could be on the verge of a coaching change they wish they didn't have to make. Whatever the situation, these teams can face major distractions down the stretch - and that has the potential to affect their ability to cover spreads.
NCAA Football Predictions: Week 11 Opening Line Report and Picks
by Alan Matthews - 11/7/2016
So forget about the SEC becoming the first conference to land two teams in the College Football Playoff. There was a lot of handwringing last week when the first CFP rankings were released and one-loss Texas A&M was at No. 4, one spot ahead of unbeaten Washington, the Pac-12 favorite. But I wrote that the Huskies had nothing to worry about as if they just took care of business, they would be in the Top 4 by the end.
Free College Football Picks: Wake Forest at Louisville Odds and Predictions
by Trevor Whenham - 11/7/2016
It has to be a very frustrating time to be a Louisville player or fan. They are in the midst of a great season, but because they lost to Clemson by the narrowest of margins they have lost all control of their own destiny. They could very easily win the rest of their games and yet not get one of the four coveted spots in the playoff.
